Chapter 335
Marry A Hidden Billionaire By Rosalind Stevenson
Bruce clenched his teeth. He had always been successful in matters of the heart, but now Alice had managed to bruise his ego.
The more she resisted the idea of doing a kissing scene with him, the more determined he became to make it happen.
However, he didnât just want to do it he wanted to capitalize on the opportunity.
â
âWhatâs all the fuss about? As a celeb, professionalism is crucial! Just because youâre married doesnât mean you forget your work!â Bruceâs face twisted with mockery.
After a brief pause, he stretched out his words, âIf youâre not professional enough, then consider leaving the entertainment industry. Quit this line of work entirely. Otherwise, youâll never escape doing kissing scenes.â
Alice gave him a puzzled look. âAre you really resorting to such childish tactics?â
Bruce let out a couple of hums, deliberately closing the gap between them. âYeah, Iâm using a bit of provocation, but that doesnât mean Iâm wrong! Ask anyone else if you donât believe me. When a role calls for it, who hasnât done kissing scenes and intimate scenes?â
Alice crossed her arms, more amused than irritated. âSo, youâre saying we absolutely have to do a kissing scene today, right?â
âExactly. And I plan to delve into it thoroughly. I promise to make it a memory you wonât forget!â With that, Bruce waved at hand and headed to change his clothes.
Watching Bruce walk away, Alice gritted her teeth..
He wanted to turn this into a chance for revenge, to play mind games with her!
As Alan approached, he caught snippets of their conversation about the kissing scene.
Alan quickly caught on, giving Alice an inquisitive look. âHey, you and him⦠have some history?â
Alice couldnât keep it from Alan any longer and admitted, âI once helped a girl who had been hurt by that jerk. I bet with them that I could put him in his place.â
âAnd then?â Alanâs excitement was palpable. He was pretty sure Aliceâs method was something special.
Alice rubbed her temples and chuckled. âThen, I dressed as a guy and turned him down right to his face.â
âSo you almost succeeded, huh?â Alan chuckled, recalling the rumors heâd heard about Bruce for a while.
Aliceâs pranks were always intriguing.
Alice nodded. âYep, I even posed as his date for the night, and then I ghosted him.â
âDealing with a jerk like him, thatâs a slick move.â Alan nodded, though he was also a tad concerned.
âBut now heâs nursing a grudge and wonât leave you alone. What if your husband finds out?â
Word had it that Daniel was the type to be jealous easily.
So, Alan was genuinely worried.
Alice touched her nose, cleared her throat, and answered, âIâve already talked to my husband about it.â
âHeâs not bothered?â
âNah, didnât pry too much. Probably doesnât care.â Alice nodded.
âAnd youâre supposed to do a kissing scene with this guy, and your husbandâs okay with it?â Alan was skeptical didnât quite add up.
Daniel didnât seem like the jealous man from the rumors.
âYeah, I told him itâs just for the scene, a staged kiss.â
âBut Bruce isnât aiming to stage a kiss with you; he wants it to be real.â Alan was quite concerned.
If that guy actually kissed Alice, Daniel could probably get furious.
Alice smirked. âAlan, donât sweat it. Iâm not interested, and even if heâs up for it, itâs not happening!â
thing Just then, the director in charge of the ad shouted, âAlice, get changed and come over here. Iâll brief you on the shooting process!â
The director had been waiting for the lighting conditions, and now that they were perfect, he didnât want to waste any more time.
Alice changed her clothes and, with Alan by her side, walked up to the director.
The director and the other crew members stood there, stunned, momentarily frozen in place.
Was this really Alice?
How could she look this stunning?
No wonder Brian had chosen her to be the face of the Blue Enchantress series for this advertising project.
This image was just flawlessly perfect.
Likewise, Bruce was just as caught off guard.
He always knew Alice was a knockout, but this was the first time heâd come face-to-face with her in her full feminine glory. He could almost say that all those other pretty faces heâd been with before faded in comparison to Aliceâs radiance.
In that split second, he felt like if he didnât win Alice over, heâd be letting down his title as the prince of romance.
âAlice, your scene starts with you coming from that flower field over there. Youâll nab Bruce and plant a fierce kiss on him,â the director outlined the scene.
Bruce raised an eyebrow, his expression hovering between a smirk and a grin as he gazed at Alice.
âNo problem, Iâm game for getting a fierce kiss.â
Watching his enthusiasm, Alice taunted with a smirk, âSo, Bruce, what kind of kiss are you picturing?â
A sk ip in Bruceâs heartbeat, and he stole a nervous glance at Alice.
Odd, why did it seem like Alice was about to turn the tables on him?
If that was indeed the caseâ¦
Bruce suddenly felt a hint of tension.
âWhatâs up, Bruce? Are you feeling a little jittery? If it helps, you can adjust your vibe⦠No worries, Iâm not about to devour you.â Alice patted Bruceâs shoulder.
This version of Alice only heightened Bruceâs unease.
Bruce clenched his teeth. âNervous? Whoâs nervous? Iâve been with plenty of women; should I be shaking at the thought of kissing you?â
At this point, the director found himself a bit puzzled. âWerenât you supposed to stage a kiss?â
âWell, I had planned to just stage it, but Bruce insisted on a real kiss. Since I donât have Bruceâs level of popularity, Iâll just have to comply with his request.â Alice let out a sigh.
The director got the situation now, but he didnât press further. Bruce had a reputation, and a solid background, while he was just an ad director â causing trouble wasnât on his agenda for now.
And given Aliceâs demeanor, it seemed she had no intention of turning it down.
Why be the one to read between the lines then?
Meanwhile, in the parking lot, a sleek black Maserati sat.
âDaniel, honestly, I think a fake kiss shouldnât ruffle your feathers. No need to worry too much.â William thought that Alice knew how to handle the situation.
Yet, Danielâs expression remained less than cheerful with a chilly undertone in his deep gaze.
Even if his wife said it was just a staged kiss, he still felt uneasy. Actually, he was annoyed by it.
âAnd whatâs your plan? Heading in for a set visit? You might sp ook the male actor sheâs working with.â
William was convinced that Daniel had that ability.
After all, a guy who could explode his father-in-lawâs place in jealousy wouldnât shy away from anything.
As expected, at the next moment, Daniel swung open the car door and was already stepping out.
Seeing this, William quickly grabbed a few snack bags and followed suit. âDaniel, hold on⦠Are you sure you donât want to carry some flowers or something? That way, Alice wonât get ticked off.â
Daniel had already covered quite a distance, but upon hearing this, he turned back, retrieved something from the car, and kept on moving toward the shooting location.
Watching him stride with determination, William began to feel a little concerned.
âDaniel, just remember, no brawling, okay? Donât forget, murder is against the law!â
