Chapter 41 - 41 Forty-one Seeing a Doctor
My Unpopular Neighbor Girl Has Hidden Identities
Chapter 41: Forty-one, Seeing a Doctor Chapter 41: Forty-one, Seeing a Doctor As Yang Lisheng and the others got into the car, Liu Shanyue started the engine and drove forward. After almost half an hour, the car arrived at an intricately designed stainless steel gate, which slowly opened upon sensing the vehicle.
In front of them was a wide driveway that stretched far into the distance, lined with lush trees on both sides. A few leaves fell gently with the breeze, adding a unique touch of desolate beauty.
Liu Shanyue drove through the gate and proceeded steadily along the driveway.
A few minutes later, a luxurious white mansion came into view, complete with a lawn, parking lot, and fountain.
The car had just come to a stop when a young man in a black suit approached and opened the car door for Yang Lisheng and the others. The old man had already informed them that distinguished guests were arriving today, and they were instructed to treat them well.
Liu Shanyue got out of the car and walked over to Yang Lisheng and the others, smiling as she greeted them, âUncle Yang, Aunt Yang, please come inside!â
Yang Lisheng nodded with a smile and followed Liu Shanyue into the mansion. When he used to be in Beijing, he had good relationships with many of the cityâs powerful families, and had seen numerous mansions, so the Qin Familyâs mansion made little impression on him.
Li Meixiang held Song Yan Ningâs hand and followed Yang Lisheng and Liu Shanyue. She was originally from an eminent family and had seen everything that needed to be seen.
Liu Shanyue led the three inside and inadvertently glanced at Song Yan Ning, noting the calmness in her eyes. She was a bit surprised; it was normal for Uncle Yang and Aunt Yang not to be impressed by the Qin Familyâs opulence as they had seen the world.
But Song Yan Ning grew up in the countryside. These sights should be very novel to her, yet her demeanor was so indifferent, as if all of this was commonplace to her. Was she really just a seven-year-old child? Even the smartest and most reserved seven-year-old would reveal some genuine thoughts unless she truly found none of this remarkable. Liu Shanyue was genuinely curious about Song Yan Ning.
Song Yan Ning walked by Li Meixiangâs side, eyes straight ahead and well-behaved. She admitted that the Qin Familyâs mansion was indeed nice, but compared to the palaces of the Demon World, there was no comparison.
Mr. Qin received the news and came out to greet them personally, âOld Yang, long time no see!â He admired Yang Lishengâs medical skills greatly. When Old Yang decided to leave Beijing, many families including his own had tried to dissuade him, but Old Yangâs mind was made up, and there was nothing they could do.
When his wife first started feeling unwell, he thought of Old Yang, but he was embarrassed to ask him to travel all the way from Yang City. Fortunately, this coincided with the seventieth birthday of the head of the Song Family.
âMr. Qin,â Yang Lisheng smiled and cupped his hands in greeting.
Mr. Qin snorted lightly, pretending to be displeased, âYou insult me right when we meet, and I donât like that. Call me Old Qin, or I wonât entertain you.â
Yang Lisheng laughed heartily, âHowâs your health been lately, Old Qin?â
Mr. Qin still wasnât entirely satisfied with the way Yang Lisheng addressed him, but this was better than âMr. Qin.â âOverall, itâs fine, but I canât sleep at night. I have seen doctors and taken some prescribed medicine, but the effect is minimal.â
âLet me check your pulse.â Yang Lisheng reached out and took Mr. Qinâs wrist.
After a moment of silence, Yang Lisheng withdrew his hand, âThereâs nothing serious. Iâll give you some acupuncture and prescribe some medicine to take for a few days. You should be fine.â Mr. Qin had always had a good relationship with his wife, and it should be his worry about her health causing the issue.
Mr. Qin nodded, leading Yang Lisheng and the others to sit down on the sofa in the living room. He picked up the tea he had just had delivered, âOld Yang, this is Wuyi Dahong Pao. Try it and tell me how it tastes. If you like it, Iâll get you some later.â Wuyi Dahong Pao is known as the âKing of Rock Tea.â If it werenât for Mr. Qinâs status, even he wouldnât be able to drink this high-grade tea.
Yang Lisheng nodded with a smile, picked up the teacup, skimmed the tea cover over the water, took a small sip, and nodded approvingly before placing the cup back on the coffee table, âOld Qin, I would like to see Mrs. Qinâs condition first.â
âSure!â Mr. Qin placed his cup down and stood up. He also wanted to know what was wrong with his wife as soon as possible.
Yang Lisheng turned to Li Meixiang and Song Yan Ning, âMeixiang, Iâm going with Old Qin to see Mrs. Qin.â
âAlright,â Li Meixiang nodded.
âUncle Yang, donât worry, I will stay here with Aunt Yang,â Liu Shanyue said with a smile.
Yang Lisheng nodded with a smile, thought for a moment, âXiao Ning, go with Grandpa.â Xiao Ningâs medical skills were even better than his. If he couldnât find the problem, Xiao Ning could help.
âAlright.â Song Yan Ning nodded and followed Yang Lisheng and Mr. Qin.
Liu Shanyue watched Song Yan Ning follow them, filled with surprise.
Seeing Liu Shanyue constantly watching Song Yan Ning, Li Meixiang smiled slightly, âXiao Ning knows medical skills too.â
âOh!â Liu Shanyue nodded in understanding. No wonder Uncle Yang wanted Song Yan Ning to go with them. He probably wanted her to gain more experience. It wasnât easy for such a young child to already be studying medicine.
Being children of the Song Family, Song Yanxue and Song Yanli lived like princesses with loving parents and people to pick them up from school, but Song Yan Ning had to rely on herself for everything.
Liu Shanyue sighed softly, âAunt Yang, can you tell me more about Xiao Ning?â She wanted to know more about Song Yan Ning.
Li Meixiang nodded, thought for a moment, and began to talk about Song Yan Ning, âXiao Ning has been well-behaved and sensible since she was young. Back in our hometownâ¦â
Song Yan Ning followed Yang Lisheng and Mr. Qin to a room on the second floor. Upon opening the door, a strong smell of medicine hit them.
Looking up, they saw a kindly, slightly haggard-looking elderly woman leaning on the bed, drinking medicine.
Seeing the three of them, the elderly woman smiled slightly and placed the medicine bowl on the side table, âOld Yang, long time no see. It must have been ten years, right?â She was not unfamiliar with Yang Lisheng. Her father was also a doctor and had been taught by Yang Lishengâs grandfather. But her father had later gone overseas, and the two families had lost contact.
âClose enough,â Yang Lisheng smiled as he walked over, âLet me check your pulse.â
He Yuqing extended her hand, and Yang Lisheng placed his fingers on her wrist, slowly furrowing his brow.
