Chapter 36
My Ex-Wife Is A Big Shot In Disguise
Chapter 36
âThereâs no need to insult your husband, Fan ny. That hurt me,â the man who had just entered said, dressed in a cream-colored suit similar to Samuelâs and a pair of gold- rimmed glasses, exuding a very refined temperament.
âCaius,â Madison smiled and greeted him as she stood up.
âSit, thereâs no need for such formality among family.â Caius gestured for Madison to sit while he sat next to Fa nny. He opened the water bottle he brought and offered it to the person next to him.
âHave a try. Youâve been busy all evening. You must be tired,â he said.
As the lid was opened, the aroma of soup wafted from the water bottle.
However, Fan ny didnât seem to appreciate it. âWhy did you bring this here at this late hour? Do you think Iâm not fat enough? And why are you using my water bottle to hold soup? This is unbelievable!â Her words sounded harsh, but she took the bottle and sipped from it slowly.
Caius smiled contentedly and gave Fan ny a shoulder massage. âFat? Of course not! Youâre so skinny. You need to take care of yourself. I used the water bottle because I know you canât drink too much, and you think the thermos is too ugly.â
Madison, sitting on the side, silently watching their display of affection and feeling the sweetness of it. She was also surprised to see this side of Fan ny. The âIron Lady,â when encountering the man she loved, could transform into a cute little girl.
Fa nny pushed Caiusâ hand away, knowing that it wasnât appropriate for them to behave intimately in front of Madison, especially since she had been hurt by a sc um bag. âCut it
out.â
Caius wasnât upset and still had a smile on his face. âBy the way, what were you all talking about just now, to end up cursing even me and Samuel?â
Madison briefly recounted what they had just talked about.
After listening, Caiusâ expression became more serious. âIf youâre sure about getting a divorce, it canât be delayed any longer. Jessica, youâve suffered enough. You canât fall into the same trap again.â
Although the late Edgar had a great responsibility for her marriage, if Madison hadnât agreed to it back then, he wouldnât have forced her into it. So, in a way, Leo was also a
victim.
But no matter what, Leoâs actions toward Jessica were excessive. Even from a manâs

perspective, Caius couldnât defend Leo especially since it was his niece who was mistreated.
Madison couldnât help but wear a wry smile at their reactions. âFa nny, Caius, itâs not that I donât want to leave because of my love-struck mind: I wish it could happen sooner. Itâs Leo who started dragging his feet suddenly.â
Saying this, Madison couldnât help but think, âHe was the one who asked for a divorce, and in the end, heâs the one whoâs dragging his feet. What a ps ycho!â
âHeâs dragging his feet and doesnât want to get a divorce?â Fa nny and Caius exclaimed almost simultaneously, their expressions almost identical.
Madison nodded. âYes, he misunderstood my relationship with Joe, thinking that I was with Joe for money. He said I should cut ties with Joe before we proceed with the divorce. But I donât mind. I can wait. Heâs the one with someone waiting for him, so the divorce is a done deal.â
Fan ny scoffed coldly as she thought, âHeâs just pretending to be kind! If he cared, how could he leave Madison alone overseas for three years without checking in on her and even hire someone to hurt her?â
Caius pinched the bridge of his glasses, looking serious. âIf thatâs what heâs thinking, itâs not so bad. But Iâm afraid there might be other motives. But since itâs possible to get a divorce soon, letâs wait and see.â
Madison agreed. As she said, she wasnât in a rush. It was Sally who should be.
âOh, here you are.â The door to the lounge opened, and Joe and Samuel entered, carrying some fruit and snacks. After exchanging greetings, they sat down.
oe also brought a stack of contracts and handed them to Madison, seated next to him. Here, take a look, and if everythingâs okay, sign it.â
The contracts were all about M&L Studio. They werenât just for XR Entertainment, but lso several other companies on a non-exclusive signing model. In other words, M&L tudioâs designs could be used by several companies at the same time. 60 percent of the nal transactionâs net profit would go to M&L Studio. It was giving money to Madison.
Madison was dumbfounded as she briefly skimmed through the contracts. âWhy are here so many contracts? Didnât we agree that I would sign a contract with you, Joe?â
he plan was to sign the contract tonight, taking advantage of the heat of the fashion la for some publicity.
and Hereâs the thing, Jessica. Our companies need original designers. For example, my hanâs companies need game character skins or jewelry for character pendants. So, we

discussed it with Joe and drafted this non-exclusive contract,â Samuel explained.
Joe remembered the attacks from the group chat and didnât want to talk, so Samuel spoke instead. After finishing, he reminded Joe. âRight, Joe?â
Joe nodded. âYeah!â
It was clear for all to see that the group of brothers couldnât allow Joe to take Madisonâs designs all for himself, so they forced Joe to compromise!
âAh, I see.â Madison was stunned, but there was no problem with these contracts or Samuelâs explanation. She picked up a pen and signed several contracts. âIâm lucky that I have so many brothers helping me!â
âSince itâs non-exclusive, why not bring me along? My companyâs designers are not talented enough. With Sylviaâs help, it could help me gain some fame.â Fan ny also joined them.
âSince you want to give me money, Iâll take it!â Madison joked.
The contracts were finalized and signed, and the news was released during the break at the fashion show. Due to the different nature of the companies, only the collaboration between XR Entertainment, S&D Games, and Fan nyâs F&C Group was announced, using the word âetc.â for the rest. Even so, it caused quite a stir at the venue.
Amidst the discussions, Leo stood up with a cold expression and said, âLetâs go.â
âAre we leaving now? The show hasnât finished yet.â Cullen reluctantly glanced at the models on the stage and caught up with Leo.
Leo didnât like such occasions in the first place. He had come for a designer but ended up not meeting her. It was easy to imagine how disappointed he was at the moment.
Cullen followed Leo as he said, âI donât think you need to be too disheartened, Leo. Since Sylvia signed with three companies at once, it means you still have a chance.â
âDo you think so?â Leo paused and glanced at him. The Palmer Group had offered triple the price, but Sylvia refused to renew the contract. Now, they couldnât even reach her, and she had signed contracts with other companies. It was clear to him that she didnât want to cooperate with the Palmer Group. However, what puzzled Leo the most was that he still didnât know how he had offended Sylvia.
Cullen understood this and asked, âSo, are we just letting this go?â
Leo nodded, and his emotions gradually calmed down. âM&L Studio doesnât provide many design drafts each year, and renewing the contract with the Palmer Group would have been a bonus, not a necessity. I came here in person because Sylvia is a talented

designer, and itâs a pity to lose her. Also, she has done me a favor, so itâs only right to try to keep her.â
But obviously, there was no chance to negotiate now. Leo looked up, and his gaze suddenly darkened.
Cullen murmured after him. âBut we havenât seen her yet. There might still be a chanceâ¦â
Before he could finish speaking, he saw Leo turn and walk quickly in another direction. âHey, where are you going? Isnât the exit over there?â Cullen asked.
