Chapter 38
My Ex-Wife Is A Big Shot In Disguise
Chapter 38
âYouâ¦â Leo was taken aback for a moment. He knew exactly what this was, just like several years ago when it first happened to Madison. He went in person to buy her sanitary products when she was so embarrassed by it. Thinking back, he still felt somewhat bewildered and found it hard to imagine how they had reached this point today. However, it was clear that now was not the time to reminisce.
Madisonâs face turned red with embarrassment as she hastily lifted the hem of her dress to cover it. Her voice carried a hint of anger as she said, âGet out of the way!â
Leo looked up at her reddened eyes and took a few steps back. âIâm sorry,â he said.
Madison was not in the mood to accept his apology. She didnât even want to look at him, clutching her handbag tightly as she hurried into the restroom. âDa mn bas ta rd!â she cursed in her mind. If he hadnât suddenly gone crazy at the entrance to the ladiesâ room, she wouldnât have ruined her dress.
Unfortunately, Madison hadnât brought her phone as she thought she would quickly return to the lounge. Now, she had no way to contact Joe and ask him to bring a clean set of clothes. She had no choice but to tough it out. Fortunately, there wasnât much blood on her dress.
The first thing Madison saw when she exited the ladiesâ room was Leoâs imposing figure. Her expression immediately turned dark. It seemed that he had been waiting for her. His black suit was draped over his arm, the white shirt and the vest underneath adding an air of nobility. When he heard the sound and turned around, he stepped toward her and handed her the suit.
Madison glared at him.
Leo probably knew he was in the wrong, so he refrained from saying anything mean. âPut it on. Even if you donât have to change your dress, itâs good to keep warm,â he said.
Although her dress wasnât designed with an entirely open back, the thin fabric made her prone to feeling cold. After a momentâs thought, Madison reached out and took it. âYou ruined my dress, and Iâll take your suit. Weâre even. I hope that the next time you contact me, it will be because the divorce has been finalized and not for any other reason.â With these words, she c oolly left, striding in her high heels.
Leoâs extinguished anger reignited, and he asked in a deep voice as he followed her. âMadison, do you have to speak to me like this?â
Madison didnât even turn her head, walking straight ahead. âMr. Palmer, how do you think I should talk to you? Besides divorce, is there anything else for us to discuss?â
Madison couldnât understand where he got the nerve to talk to her about these trivial

matters. Wanting to marry him in the past was out of her foolishness. Now, she had come to her senses. She would divorce him as he wished, and avoid him and Sally, yet he still wanted more from her.
She was about to turn toward the lounge, but her path was blocked before she could do
SO.
Leo, with his long legs, quickly strode in front of her, his tall figure obstructing her way. âIf you think thereâs nothing to talk about, come home with me,â he said, losing patience and grabbing her wrist with a stern face.
Surprisingly, Madison didnât struggle. A faint smile appeared as she tilted her head to look at him. âCome home with you? So, Mr. Palmer, in what name should I go home with you? Are you sure thatâs my home?â The mockery in her eyes resurfaced, piercing his heart.
For a moment, Leo suddenly considered letting it go. Not getting a divorce and spending a lifetime with her this way didnât seem so bad. At least he could refute her words with a good reason for her to come home. But that thought was fleeting. He involuntarily tightened his grip on her wrist, looking into her eyes filled with cold amusement. âUntil the divorce is finalized, you are my wife. Is that clear enough for you?â
Madison nodded seriously. âSo, Mr. Palmer, you do acknowledge our marriage, right? Then, until the divorce is finalized, do I still need to call you âhoneyâ?â She deliberately emphasized the word âhoney,â making it sound particularly sweet and cloying.
Leo was taken aback, not even stepping back as Madison moved closer. He didnât seem to mind the proximity between them.
Madison looked at him seriously. âBut honey, if I call you like this, wonât your sweetheart be angry?â
Leoâs Adamâs apple bobbed. âMadison, come home with me, as for other mattersâ¦â
âLeoâ¦â
Before Leo could finish, a pitiful voice interrupted him from behind. He was surprised to see Madison in his arms, her smile brighter than before. She didnât move, allowing him to hold her wrist as her petite b*dy almost leaned into his embrace.
The sight of their intimacy stabbed at Sallyâs heart. âMadison, you bi tch!â she cursed silently. âYouâre about to divorce, yet you wouldnât let go of Leo! He has never even touched me or held my hand!â
Without thinking, Sally, her eyes filled with anger, rushed over and pushed Madison away. âMadison, are you a go dd amn sl ut? Are you that desperate for a man? Isnât it

enough to seduce Mr. Daves from XR Entertainment? Now youâre trying to seduce Leo even after being divorced, huh? Shame on you!â
Madison was pushed hard, her shoulder hitting the wall with a dull thud, causing her to wince in pain.
âMadiscalâ Leoâs eyes showed concern as he moved forward to help Madison. However, before his fingers could touch her, Madison recoiled from his touch with disgust. She stood her ground, using her hand to rub her shoulder with a nonchalant smile. âMr. Palmer, you should explain to Miss Hale first. Donât bring unnecessary trouble to me.â
At this point, Leo understood everything. Everything that had just happened was intentional on her part. Madison had known that Sally was behind them and deliberately said those things to provoke Sally. Madison even disregarded her safety!
Leo pursed his l*ps tightly, staring at Madison intently. Madison didnât avoid his gaze, smiling as if to say, âI did it on purpose. So what? Even if I did it intentionally, you were the one who took the bait willingly, werenât you? Since you have feelings for Sally, why sweet-talk me? Women are petty, you know?â
After a while, Leo finally averted his gaze and frowned at Sally. âSally, you went too far just now. Apologize to Madison.â
âApologize to her?â Sally stared at him in disbelief. However, she didnât dare to be arrogant in front of him. Her resentful emotions were quickly replaced by grievance. âLeo, why should I apologize to her? Youâre divorced, and sheâs still calling you⦠She almost threw herself at you, and you even held her hand!â
âAnd my clothes are Mr. Palmerâs,â Madison chimed in from the side.
Hearing this, Sally glared at her as if she wanted to tear her mouth apart. But she knew that the angrier she got, the more Leo would dislike it. Tears were a manâs weakness. So, Sally looked at Leo with great grievance in her eyes. âLeo, do you not want to marry me? Are you unwilling to divorce her?â
