Chapter 78
My Ex-Wife Is A Big Shot In Disguise
Chapter 78
Leo came out of the guest room and stood at the railing of the stairs on the second. floor.
He looked annoyed, his eyebrows tightly furrowing. It was probably because Madison made some noise and woke him up.
Madison thought, âYeah. It makes sense. Iâd get pretty upset if someone woke me up carly in the morning.
She apologized, âSorry, I couldnât find the switch for the staircase light in your house, so I accidentally made too much noise and woke you upâ¦
Madison could not remember anything about what had happened after she got drunk. yesterday, let alone why she was at Creek Court.
However, Madison did her best to remain polite since she was in Leoâs house.
She thought, âWell. It looks like Leo takes me in for a night. I have to show him my
manners.
Leo looked down at Madison coldly and snorted when he heard Madisonâs words.
He talked to himself, âHuh. My house? If I remember correctly, this house is still under her name.
Leo looked down at the woman with her arms crossed downstairs. With a mocking tone, he asked, âSo, Mrs. Palmer, whyâd you wake up so carly? Canât stand another second in my house and planning to leave already?â
Leo
was certain that Madison was now wide awake. She had shed the drunken demeanor from yesterday and the innocence she once possessed when Edgar was alive.
However, Leo was filled with anger when he thought about how eager Madison was to leave the house.
Madisonâs brain was not as sharp as usual due to a hangover. She could not figure out why Leo was so upset.
All she knew was that she was cold and hungry. Thus, she explained, âIâm not leaving. Even if I want to leave, I donât have a car. I woke up early becauseâ¦â
Before Madison could finish speaking, Leo interrupted her coldly, âSo, if you had a car or got someone to pick you up, you would leave without saying goodbye. Am I getting you right?â

********* Telt Leo was unreasonable. S
gritted her teeth and shouted angrily, âSo what
if I am leaving? I didnât even ask you why Iâm staying here!â
She cried inside, âGosh. Look at his attitude!
âI was apologizing to him, and he mocked me sarcastically.
âEven if I leave right after waking up, it has nothing to do with him.
Leo found himself utterly irritated by Madisonâs comeback. Just as he was gearing up to say something else, a rumble from Madisonâs stomach abruptly halted the
conversation.
The rumble seemed to be registering its protest against their argument, echoing through the empty villa.
Leo was stunned when he heard that.
Madison was shocked, too.
Then, Madisonâs face and cars all turned red due to the embarrassment.
In just a few dozen seconds, she felt as if a century had passed. It was so long that Madison wanted to escape from the house
She closed her eyes in despair..
Upstairs, Leo was stunned for a moment. When he returned to his senses, he could not help but chuckle.
Then. Leo remembered that Madison had not eaten anything after she came here yesterday afternoon.
Leo asked. âDid you wake up from hunger?â
Leo was smiling when he asked. His anger had completely dissipated. He lazily supported himself against the railing.
Madison was not going to reply to Leo.
She thought, I only want to know why my every embarrassing incident happened. before Leo.
âMy period arrived last time. Now, he heard the rumble from my stomach.
âIt is insanely embarrassing!â
Madison was trembling with anger.

She did not even bother heading to the kitchen to search for food now. Instead, she glared at Leo and questioned, âWhereâs my phone?â
She shouted inside, I donât want to stay here any longer!â
Leo said. âThere are some ravioli and steak in the fridge. I think I have some spaghetti stored in the kitchen. What do you want to eat?â
However, Leo didnât reply to Madisonâs question. He descended the stairs slowly, and as he got closer, he frowned slightly at the nightgown Madison was wearing,
He picked up a foldable pillow from the sofa and opened it. It was a small flannel blanket. He put it on Madison.
After that, he explained, âI didnât touch your phone. The clothes you changed out of and your bag are in the master bedroom. Tell me what you want to cat now. Weâll discuss other things after you fill your stomach.â
Madison asked, âWho changed my clothes?â
Madison grasped the essence of Leoâs words. Disregarding her phone for the moment, she posed the crucial question with wide-open eyes.
Leo was making his way to the kitchen. Upon hearing Madisonâs question, he casually sl*pped his hand behind his back, halting in his tracks. He glanced at Madison before. him, a faint smile playing on his l*ps. âWhat do you think, Mrs. Palmer?â
He intentionally lowered his voice, adding a flirtatious tone as he addressed Madison with that title.
There were no ser vants in the villa. When Madison thought of the only possibility, she felt shy and angry, shouting. âYou!â
However, Leo was still stalling. He teased, âWhatâs the problem? Youâre my wife. I just changed your clothes and wiped your b*dy. I donât see whatâs wrong.â
âYou bas ta rd!â Madison gritted her teeth and shouted, âYou are planning to divorce me. How come I am Mrs. Palmer? What right do you have to change my clothes?â
She cried inside, âBesides, he is about to marry Sally. Why is he doing with me now?â
Madisonâs merciless scolding infuriated Leo. His disdainful gaze swept across Madisonâs b*dy, and he released a cold, bitter laugh.
Leo mocked, âDonât worry. Your b*dy doesnât have any temptation to me. Even if Iâ¦â
He immediately stopped when he noticed Madisonâs face full of tears.

Madison replied, âWell. Mr. Palmer, Iâm so sorry that my ugly b*dy has dirtied your
eyes.
Madison looked straight at Leo with her red eyes.
She thought, âI wondered how Leo felt when he saw the scars on my b*dy.
It turned out that I overthinked. Scu mbags were all the same, including Leo. He only cares about the pleasure brought by S**.
âMy ugly b*dy doesnât interest him at all.
âWell, I suppose I should thank him for gifting her these scars-a kind of barrier that helps me protect myself.
âOtherwise, some wicked folks might do disgusting thins on me when Iâm drunk.
âMadisonâ¦â Leo did not know what to do and was annoyed at himself, thinking, âWhy did I have to tease her?â
He pursed his l*ps, fell silent for a moment, and then explained in a hushed tone. âI didnât change your clothes. I asked a serv ant who comes to clean the villa regularly. You were quite drunk yesterday, drenched in sweat. You wouldnât have slept well if youâd kept those clothes on.â
As soon as he finished speaking, he thought for a moment and added in a low voice, âI just wanted to tease you earlier. I didnât expect it to hurt you. Iâm sorry.â
It sounded like a sincere apology.
However, Madison could not stop her tears. She turned her head away, not wanting to
look at Leo.
She thought, I no longer care about his words.
âWhat does it have to do with me if he is not interested in me?
âWe are getting divorced anyway. Morris should have sent the divorce certificate to an express station in Green Water Bay yesterday if everything thing went well.
Leo looked at Madisonâs side profile and did not explain further.
He said, âIâll get you something to eat. Sit down for a while.â
Madison remained silent. Afterward, she headed to the coffee table to grab a piece of tissue and wipe away her tears.

She thought. It was so embarrassing to cry hard over his judgment.

But I really couldnât help it at that moment.
âEven my brothers did not know how many scars I had.
âI had scheduled a scar removal surgery, but I bolted at the last minute.
âI wanted to remind myself where and how I received these injuries.
âNow, those scars almost became a tool for Leo to humiliate me.
âHow ridiculous is that.
