Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 1113
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Lucyâs POV:
Sure enough, it was Adela.
I could see the imprint of my hand on her face as she sat enraged at the table, ready with another cup in her hand to throw across the room.
âAdela, do you want to end our alliance?â
I glared at her until she placed the cup back on the tray. She was so furious that she clenched her jaw and her face flushed, making her look a little malevolent.
âYou humiliated me today!â
I rolled my eyes and ignored her. I put down Firman and said, âBaby, go to your room and read a book. I need to talk to Adela.â
Obviously, Firman was terrified. His face had no color and he didnât want to let go of my hand.
I was fuming. This was all Adelaâs fault. She frightened my baby!
Firman was still in the room, so I had to restrain my temper. Swallowing my anger for the moment, I gathered my child in my arms again. âThen let me carry you to your room and prepare some cake for you, okay?â
Firman wrapped his arms around my neck tightly and nodded. âOkay.â
After comforting him, I returned to the living room and glowered at Adela with a sullen expression. âWhat do you want?â
This idiot almost injured my son just now. If it werenât for the fact that she was still useful, I would have killed her already by now.
Adela shed her weak fagade and sprung to her feet angrily. She shouted, âDonât pretend to be unaware! How could you help Crystal humiliate me in front of so many people? Have you forgotten which side you are on?â
As Adela complained, she turned her battered face in my direction. She was so close to me.
I almost laughed in anger. Damn it! What a fool!
I pushed her away from me in disgust and curled my lips up in disdain. âDo you have any idea who youâre messing with? I saved you. Not only were you not grateful, but youâre still creating trouble here.â
Adela gritted her teeth and said with a ferocious look, âSheâs just an Alpha. As the future queen, why would I be afraid of her?â
I was at a loss for words. I deeply regretted asking her to participate in my plan. What had this fool grown up on? Why was she such a moron?
I inhaled deeply and tried my best to push my anger away. âYou are not the queen. Youâre only the daughter of the Alpha of a small pack. Anyone here is more powerful than you. Youâre nothing.â
Adelaâs expression told me that I had hit a nerve. She immediately burst into tears. âI will become the queen! Sooner or later, I will get that position!â
âLetâs wait until you actually become the queen,â I scoffed, not taking her tantrum seriously.
Her face darkened. She took several rapid breaths to calm herself down. After a while, she continued, âI just made some inquiries. Beryl isnât Rufusâ child. He had just saved her and she lost her memory. And Crystal is only a widow with two children.â
âWhat do you mean? Crystal has another child?â I quickly caught the most important point of Adelaâs rant and I was astonished.
Adela didnât catch on to my surprise. She pouted and said, âYes. She also has a son. It is said that theyâre boy-girl twins.â
I was so shocked that my facial muscles twisted for a moment.
Adela finally seemed to have sensed something off. She frowned and asked, âWhatâs wrong? Is something the problem?â
I took a deep breath, met Adelaâs eyes, and enunciated every word as I said, âCrystal is Rufus â former mate. Those children must be his.â
No wonder the servant had reported to me that Laura takes very good care of Beryl. Perhaps she already knew that Beryl was her granddaughter.
As this thought crossed my mind, I was struck with another guess. I wondered if Laura had helped Crystal fake her death five years ago.
Not everyone could gain the post of Alpha after all. Maybe Laura had a hand in arranging it.
If that was the case, Adela would never make it. Crystal had two childrenâRufusâ children, who were her biggest bargaining chips. Laura would certainly take her side.
