Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 1260
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
(Crystalâs POV)
When Rufus heard my answer, his l*ips curled up in disdain and he got to his feet. Pulling me closer, he lifted my chin, and asked, âWhy are you crying if you donât love me? Your eyes are red.â
I sniffled and irritably slapped his h*and away. I didnât want to talk to him.
Rufus persisted. He sat beside me and said, âI donât believe that you donât love me. Youâre a liar. You always like to speak the opposite of what you really mean.â
âItâs your choice to believe it or not.â I turned around and wiped my tears, feeling embarrassed.
Rufus didnât believe me. He shifted so that he was sitting facing me. âWhy are you keeping me away from you? Why did you k*iss me just now if you donât love me? I donât believe you are so cruel. Crystal, admit it. You love me. You canât escape from me.â
Rufus annoyed me so much that I yelled, âStop it. You donât know anything!â
When I noticed the stunned disbelief on his face, I regretted my words again.
I rubbed my eyes, lowered my head, and sobbed. âThere are so many things I donât know how to tell you. Itâs best that you have no knowledge of them. Anyway, I donât love you anymore.â
The atmosphere was heavy with tension for several minutes. After a long time, Rufus stirred. He slowly lifted my chin, gently dried my tears with his f*ingers, and tenderly said, âThere are many things I donât know? Well, are any of them related to the curse?â
I was taken aback. I hadnât expected him to bring up the curse.
As Rufus intensely gazed at my face, he seemed to have figured something out. His l*ips curved up into a soft smile. âIf Iâm not wrong, the curse was the biggest reason you left me, right?â
My jaw fell open in surprise. âHow did youâ¦â
âDoes this have anything to do with what is on my back?â Rufus interrupted me and asked.
This time, I was completely floored. âCan you see whatâs on your back?â
âWas I unable to see it before?â Rufus asked with raised eyebrows.
I sat in silence, not knowing where to start. âSo, Iâm right. I wasnât certain, but the way you examined my back just now confirmed my suspicion that it was related to curse,â Rufus nonchalantly said.
He was so sharp that he only needed a few clues to figure anything out.
It suddenly dawned on me that pretending so hard in front of him before was useless. In the end, he still discovered the truth.
I stared at him, my gut churning uneasily. I didnât know what the meaning of Rufus being able to see the black thorn on his back now was. Would the curse affect him more fiercely than before?
Or maybe I was running out of time.
âWhatâs wrong, Crystal? You look terrified.â Rufus studied me worriedly. He tucked a loose strand of my hair behind my ear and half-jokingly said, âIâm going to die, right?â
I became so furious that I hastily covered his mouth. âDonât spout nonsense! I will never let anything bad befall you.â
After saying that, I burst into tears. I couldnât hold in the emotions I felt when I thought of him dying.
âYou will live a peaceful life. I wonât let you die. I wonâtâ¦â I choked with sobs and couldnât speak coherently. âWe can survive this. I managed to save you five years ago. I can do it again this time. You canât dieâ¦â
Rufus watched me with his dark eyes. His l*ips were tightly pressed into a thin line, as if he was controlling his emotions.
Before I could think about anything, he suddenly clasped my h*and, wrapped his arm around my shoulder, and k*issed me.
