Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 1264
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
(Crystalâs POV)
When I heard that Beryl had woken up, I practically jumped out of bed. âBerylâs awake?! Letâs go see her!â
Rufus smiled at me happily. We both got dressed.
âIâll tell Beryl that youâre her father. Sheâll be thrilled!â I said excitedly as I straightened Rufusâ collar.
Now that I had explained everything to Rufus, the two children had a right to know who their father was.
Although both Arron and Beryl had already started calling Rufus âDaddyâ, I still needed to tell them the truth.
Especially Arron, he had been looking forward to meeting his father for so long. Now, his father was right in front of him, and I could finally talk about our past in front of them without worries.
Rufus smiled and pinched my cheek. âIf you say so. But even if you didnât tell me, I already viewed them as my children before.â
I held his h*and and rubbed the back of his palm lovingly. âThatâs different.â
With a gentle look on his face, Rufus lowered his head and planted a k*iss on my forehead. âIâm so happy weâll finally get to be a family.â
I stood on tiptoe to k*iss him back. âCome on. Berylâs waiting for us.â
âOkay, letâs go.â
âCould you push me?â I asked, glancing at the wheelchair beside the bed. Although I could walk, I couldnât walk that fast.
âIâll just carry you to the car.â
Without hesitation, Rufus scooped me into his arms and carried me to his car. A few minutes later, we pulled into the palace of the lycan king.
The whole palace was brightly lit and heavily guarded.
Rufus carried me out of the car. He didnât put me down until we arrived at the hall.
H*and in h*and, we slowly walked inside the elevator, which took us to the third floor.
As soon as the elevator doors slid open, I saw a group of doctors discussing something in the lounge by the hall.
As soon as the doctors saw us, they all stood up. Strangely, they didnât congratulate us on Berylâs resuscitation.
Instead, they all exchanged embarrassed glances.
I instinctively raised my head to look at Rufus, only to find that his face was cold and his jaw tightened. He must have also sensed that something was wrong.
âBerylâs awake, isnât she? How is she now?â Rufus walked to them with me and went straight to the point.
The doctors hemmed and hawed, but no one gave him a straight answer.
Feeling uneasy, I tightened my grip on Rufusâ h*and.
âIs she awake or not? Can someone tell me what the hell is going on?â Rufus asked coldly, his brows furrowed tight. He looked so intimidating that the doctors all lowered their heads.
One of the senior doctors finally stepped forward and said, âItâs true; Berylâs awake. Thereâs nothing wrong with her physically, and she seems to have regained her memory.â
I breathed a sigh of relief. Then I frowned at them and asked, âSo whatâs the problem?â
âWellâ¦â The doctor faltered weakly. âAlthough Berylâs awake, we have a feeling that something is wrong, but we canât tell what exactly. You can see her for yourself.â
Rufus and I didnât ask any more questions. We walked straight past the group of doctors and went to Berylâs room.
My heart was beating wildly in my chest from anxiety. The moment I saw Beryl, I immediately knew what was wrong.
She was sitting on the bed with a little stuffed toy bear in her arms. When she heard the sound of us coming in, she slowly turned her head and looked at us with dull eyes, as though she was sizing us up.
Rufus also instinctively knew that something was terribly wrong. He grabbed my wrist to stop me from getting any closer.
âBaby Beryl?â I called her tentatively.
Beryl narrowed her eyes and looked at me weirdly.
For some reason, I somehow felt a chill.
Beryl was wearing a white nightgown. Her golden brown hair hung loosely over her shoulders, framing her expressionless face.
She looked like a child on the outside, but the gloom in her eyes was like that of a grown up. It was just so strange.
