Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 1265
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
(Crystalâs POV)
I walked towards my daughter and called her name again. âBaby Berylâ¦â
Finally, she blinked at me and smiled. âMommy.â
Oh, what a relief! She still recognized me.
She had just woken up from a coma, so she was probably just groggy.
Besides, the doctors just said that my daughter seemed to have regained her memory. Maybe she was just having a hard time gathering her bearings. She was still a child after all.
I walked quickly to the bedside and threw my arms around her, planting k*isses all over her cute face. âBeryl, you remember Mommy?â
Beryl nodded vigorously, exposing her adorable dimples. âI remember everything. I missed you so much, Mommy. I thought you left me.â
I hugged her tightly and stroked her hair. âHow could I leave you? Mommy loves you so much, Baby Beryl. I was so worried that you wouldnât wake up.â
âDonât worry, Mommy. I tried my best to fight against the bad guys in my dreams so that I could wake up,â she said, wriggling in my arms like a restless kitten.
Her innocent words warmed my heart. I smiled at her and said softly, âYouâre such a brave girl, baby. Thank you for fighting to wake up.â
Berylâs cheeks turned red. She shyly buried her face in my arms. Only then did she notice that Rufus was also here. âDaddy!â she cried out, reaching out for a hug.
It seemed that her more recent memories of staying in the palace werenât affected, either.
âDaddy, whereâs my brother?â Beryl suddenly asked.
âArronâs with your grandma.â Then I stood up and t*ouched her belly. âAre you hungry? Do you want to eat something?â
Beryl nodded excitedly. âYes, Iâm starving! I want a humongous pizza with cheese and sausages!â
I pinched her chubby cheek and said, âOkay, whatever you want.â
The servants were waiting outside, so it didnât take long for me to give them Berylâs food order. Laura had just gotten off the phone. She looked into the room and said to me seriously, âWe need to talk. Tell Rufus to come out.â
I was a little confused, but I didnât ask any questions. I went back to the room and gestured at Rufus to follow me. For the time being, a maid watched over Beryl.
Rufus and I went to the study next door, where Laura was waiting. She closed the door behind us and sat opposite me and Rufus.
âThe doctors mustâve told you that Berylâs acting strange, right?â Laura said, brows furrowed tightly.
I became worried again. âYes, but what exactly is wrong with Beryl? I just talked to her, and she seemed fine.â
âWell, when Beryl just woke up, she didnât say a word. She didnât call for help or anything. The first thing she asked was where you were. Since then, she hasnât eaten or drunk anything. She just kept
asking about you. In the end, I had no choice but to send someone for you.â As Laura spoke, she looked at me grimly.
âShe just woke up from a coma. Itâs only natural that she wanted to see her mother,â Rufus mused.
âI thought the same way at first. But Berylâs tone was so weird. She didnât sound like a child at all. And the way she looked at me was very strangeâcold and distant. Beryl had always been a lively and cheerful little girl before. Even though she was afraid or angry, sheâd never look like that. That kind of weird, grim expression comes with age.â Lauraâs tone became heavier as she spoke, and her eyebrows furrowed even more tightly.
I fell into deep thought. âActually, I also felt that something was wrong when I first saw her, but I couldnât tell what. And when she acted like a spoiled child just now, I didnât feel anything wrong. Besides, she still remembered that Rufus is her father.â
