Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 1266
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
(Crystalâs POV)
âIf Beryl remembers that Rufus is her father, then she shouldâve remembered that Iâm her grandmother. But ever since she woke up, she keeps looking at me like Iâm a stranger,â Laura said dejectedly.
Laura was one of the people who loved Beryl the most. She wouldâve been devastated if her own granddaughter didnât remember her.
When Beryl was in a coma, it was Laura who stayed by her side almost every minute of the day.
âMaybe her mindâs still a bit fuzzy from being in a coma. She should be fine after a while,â I comforted Laura softly.
But Laura had a point. Since Beryl was able to remember Rufus, why didnât she remember Laura?
I just couldnât figure it out. There was an indescribable strange feeling in my heart that could be likened to dread. It seemed that something had changed in my daughter.
âDonât overthink. She was asleep for so long, so I think sheâs a little muddle- headed. Besides, she was afraid that she wouldnât be able to see her mother,â Rufus said.
I nodded with a sigh. âThatâs the only explanation. Weâll just have to be patient. The doctors said that Berylâs physical condition is fine, so maybe the problem still lies in her memory.â
Laura was a little sad, but she snapped out of it soon. While we were chatting, Laura suddenly exclaimed in surprise, âCrystal, you remembered everything?â
I was amused by Lauraâs sudden reaction and replied, âYes, I remembered everything. And Iâm fine.â
âOh, thatâs great! Berylâs awake and youâve recovered. Iâll hold a banquet to celebrate all these good things tomorrow.â Laura was so happy that she wanted to throw a party.
Rufus and I exchanged knowing glances. Both of us were amused. When we saw how happy Laura looked, we couldnât help but feel happy too.
Laura had never been this excited since Ethanâs death.
While Laura was talking about what she was going to wear in the party, she suddenly caught a glimpse of Rufus and me holding hands. Her eyes went as wide as saucers. âWhatâs going on between you two?â
Rufus chuckled and naturally lowered his head to rest his forehead against mine. âIt is what it is, Mom.â
Lauraâs jaw went slack, but considering her image as former queen of the empire, she didnât scream. She managed to stay calm and asked us point-blank, âAre you together?â
With a sheepish smile, I smiled at her and elbowed Rufus playfully. âHe knows everything. Iâve told him everything that happened in the past, including the curse.â
But in order not to make Laura worry, Rufus and I had agreed in private not to tell Laura that he was still cursed. Laura heaved a long sigh of relief. âThose who are destined to be together will naturally find each other.â
Rufus looked at me lovingly and squeezed my hand.
âBut what about your memory loss? Rufus, do you remember anything now?â Lauraâs tone suddenly took on a tinge of worry.
Rufus shook his head. âI only have scraps here and there, and I canât piece them together. But Iâll find a way. I wonât let the one I love leave me again.â
Laura waved her hand and rolled her eyes in feigned exasperation. âOkay, okay. Iâm too old to get involved in your affairs. As long as you are happy, Iâm happy.â
Just then, there was a knock on the door. The buffet trolley had arrived.
âIâm going to feed Beryl. She must be starving.â I stood up and was about to leave the study.
Suddenly, Laura called me from behind. âWait, thereâs something else thatâs been bothering me.â
âWhat is it?â I turned around and looked at her inquisitively.
âWhen Beryl woke up, she called you Sylvia.â
