Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 1267
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
(Crystalâs POV)
A hush fell over the room. It was so quiet, one couldâve heard a pin drop.
âWhy would she call me that? She doesnât even know about my real name,â I said in a daze. I couldnât believe it. I had never mentioned anything about the past in front of my kids.
Could Beryl have seen a document with my real name on it? But that didnât make sense. The name âSylviaâ and everything about me in the past had been wiped out. As far as my two children were concerned, Sylvia never existed. I was always Alpha Crystal to them.
Besides, Beryl had always called me âMommyâ. She had never even called me Crystal. So how could she call me Sylvia now?
âWhat the hell is going on?â Rufusâs expression darkened. He must have guessed something.
âI donât think Berylâs situation is as simple as we think,â Laura said seriously.
I tried to look for potential answers that could explain this irregularity. âMaybe Beryl overheard that name somewhere, so she kept it in mind until nowâ¦â
âImpossible. Berylâs just a child. No matter how smart or bright she is, sheâs still a five-year-old kid. Besides, knowing Beryl, she doesnât like to hide anything. She can easily forget anything unimportant. How could she only bring up this name after waking up from a coma?â Rufus mused, and Laura nodded in agreement.
âI think weâd better err on the side of caution and observe her carefully.â
My head started to pound and I felt more and more uneasy. Although I hated to admit it, the likely reason behind Berylâs strange behavior could only be witchcraft. âLetâs go and see whatâs going on now,â Rufus suggested, reaching for my hand. Together, we walked out of the study and headed to Berylâs room.
The buffet trolley had already been sent into Berylâs room, and the table was covered with all kinds of delicious food. When Beryl saw us come back, she immediately jumped out of the bed and ran to me for a hug.
Despite the doubts in my mind, I forced a smile and accompanied her to the table. âCheese sausage pizza!â Beryl clapped her hands excitedly.
I picked up a slice of pizza for her and asked tentatively, âMommy has prepared some dessert for you. Guess what it is.â
Berylâs cheeks bulged up. She asked slowly, âIs it⦠Mango milkshake?â
âBingo! Your favorite shake!â I was relieved. This was indeed Berylâs favorite dessert.
âWhereâs my brother? Why isnât he here yet? I miss him so much. Iâve kept a lot of treats for him and I want to share them with him!â There was some cheese on the corner of Berylâs l*p, which made her look even cuter.
I picked up a handkerchief and wiped her mouth, saying softly, âHeâll visit you later. You need to eat up and get some rest so that youâll have the energy to play with him.â
Beryl nodded enthusiastically. âOkay! Iâll eat a lot!â
I smiled, picked up a piece of sausage, and put it on the plate with a duck-shaped pattern.
While Beryl was happily munching on her food, she noticed that Rufus had sat down next to her. âDaââ
I was confused. It seemed that she had wanted to call him Daddy, but stopped on second thought. âWhatâs wrong, Beryl?â
Rufus poured a glass of corn juice and put it in front of Beryl. He teased, âYeah, Baby Beryl. Whatâs wrong?â
Beryl frowned and looked at Rufus a little shyly. âMy brain finally remembers things. Iâm sorry I called you âDaddyâ when youâre not my daddy at all.â
I put down my fork and looked at Beryl earnestly. âHoney, he is your daddy. You didnât make a mistake. You can call him âDaddyâ.â
Beryl pouted in confusion. âBut Mommy, you said Daddy was dead. You said he was a hero who died in the warâthat he was blown up into a million ashes!â
Rufusâs face darkened when he heard this.
