Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 27
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Sylviaâs POV:
Right after dinner, Rufus took me away, regardless of how others would react.
âUh, is it really appropriate for us to be seen like this?â I whispered nervously as I followed him.
âWell, do you want to turn back now?â Rufus raised an eyebrow and looked at me.
At this time, only a few lights illuminated the balcony area. Rufus stood with his back to the light, making it look like he had a halo of moonlight around his head. He pretended to walk back.
âNo! I donât.â I hurriedly grabbed his wrist. âI was just asking.â
He stopped easily. Was he just kidding around?
No. What was a lycanâs business with making jokes? I pushed aside such ridiculous thought.
Rufus led me downstairs, and we met up with a gentle-faced she-wolf who was waiting in the hall.
âGood evening, Prince Rufus. Good evening, Miss Todd.â
She bowed politely.
âSylvia, this is Maya. She is going to be your personal maid. When Iâm not around, she will be the one to help you with anything.â Rufus looked at me seriously.
I was speechless. I was technically still a slave. How could I have my own personal maid?
I turned to Maya. She had a round face and her hair was tied neatly back into a simple ponytail. She smiled a lot, which I appreciated.
Seeing that I was still at a loss with this new information, Maya took the initiative to start the conversation. It didnât take long for me to like her very much. With her by my side, I knew it would help make me feel safer in the imperial palace.
âPrince Rufus, wait.â A guard came rushing over. âThe queen would like to see you.â
As usual, Rufus took his time and didnât reply immediately. Instead, he turned to me. There seemed to be worry in his eyes.
When I realized he was worried about leaving me, I nudged him gently and said softly, âGo.â
Reluctantly, Rufus nodded and then looked at Maya. âShow Sylvia around the imperial palace.â
With that last command, Rufus left.
The whole way through, Maya talked. She took me out for a walk, showing me the different routes and important landmarks of the imperial palace.
I nodded attentively and took mental notes, hoping I wouldnât get lost here again.
A magnificent building not so far away then came into sight. It was brightly lit and bustling with people. It seemed that those who were gathering were a bunch of well-dressed young werewolves. Naturally, I was curious.
âWhatâs going on over there?â I asked Maya.
âThatâs the Royal Military School. Today must be the start of a new term. Thatâs why there are lot of people there.â Maya smiled and then tilted her head at me. âDo you want to go and have a look?â
I nodded in a trance and walked with Maya.
âIs this school only for aristocrats?â I wanted to clarify. After all, the school had the word âRoyalâ in it, so I assumed it was just for nobility.
âNot exactly. This school was just established by the royal family to train young werewolves with military talent. Anyone with outstanding potential should be allowed admissionâ¦â
âHey, watch out!â
A voice from afar shouted, interrupting Maya.
I looked at the direction where the voice came from and saw a football flying fast right toward my head. Maya saw this and instinctively wanted to shield me from the ball. But I quickly pushed her away and flew into a spinning kick, sending the football in another direction.
When I came back to my senses, I heard loud cheering.
Several young men rushed over to me, panting. They apologized for the football and also praised me for that good kick. All the compliments made me shy, so I just smiled and said nothing.
âBeautiful lady, may we know who you are?â One of them looked at me with bright eyes full of amazement. âWait, let me guess. Are you a princess?â
Just when I opened my mouth to reply, a high-pitched voice came from the crowed.
âDonât bother asking. Sheâs nothing but a slave!â
A she-wolf walked out of the crowd.
What was she doing here?
