Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 496
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Sylviaâs POV:
Although I didnât quite understand the situation, I didnât ask any questions. I just took note of what she said.
âMy nameâs Nicole. Iâm the housekeeper here. If you need anything, just knock on the door gently. Thereâs no need to shout.â
âOh, okayâ¦â I replied in a low voice and observed Nicole quietly, although I could only see her red eyes in the dark.
It looked like Nicole didnât mean to hurt me. She even talked to me with respect, as if she was entertaining a guest.
âActually, Iâm a little hungry now. Is there anything I can eat?â I asked softly, trying to test her attitude.
âWait one moment.â
After saying that, Nicole disappeared behind the door and locked it. A few minutes later, she came back and handed me a plate.
âEat this first. Dinner will be ready shortly.â As soon as I touched the edge of the plate, Nicole withdrew her hands abruptly, as if she was afraid that I would touch her.
I didnât say anything. I just took the plate. The food was still warm, and I could smell that it was fried steak.
âAnything else?â Nicole asked politely.
I hesitated for a moment. âWhere is the other she-wolf who was with me?â
âI donât know. She is not a guest here and doesnât deserve to step foot in this castle.â Nicole grew serious. I could tell from her tone of voice that I shouldnât ask any more questions.
âThenâ¦â Holding the plate of warm steak, I hesitated.
Nicole didnât say a word. She waited patiently for me to continue.
âCould you stay with me until I finish this steak? Iâm not used to eating alone,â I said matter-of-factly.
Nicole fell silent, as though she was rendered speechless.
But in the end, she stayed and accompanied me.
I sat on the floor face to face with her. She watched me eat, her unblinking red eyes staring straight at me.
I didnât mind. I took a bite of the steak and chewed it thoughtfully. In between mouthfuls, I would ask her some questions, trying to glean some information from her. âI get the feeling that this castle is huge. This room alone is too big for me.â
âYes,â Nicole replied perfunctorily.
I sighed internally. She shouldâve been called a âsecret-keeperâ instead of a housekeeper.
âDoes your master usually sleep for so long every day?â I ventured.
âIt depends.â
âWho else lives in this castle besides your master?â
âYou will find out at dinner.â
âI seeâ¦â
âYouâre done eating, right? I should go now.â Nicole interrupted me and stood up, intending to leave.
I put down the plate and followed her. âIâm not used to this darkness. Can you turn on the light for me?â
âIâm afraid no light is allowed to be turned on before eight oâclock in the evening,â Nicole said without looking back.
âOh, I see,â I stopped walking dejectedly.
The door, which was about to be closed, stopped. In the darkness, I could tell that Nicole was deep in thought.
âWait a while. Iâll get you a candle and some matches,â she finally compromised.
âThank you!â My eyes lit up happily.
Vampiresâ had exceptional night vision since they lived in darkness. But werewolves were different. We were blind without light.
Soon, Nicole brought me a candle and a box of matches. âIâm making an exception for you. Please donât make any trouble before dinner. Just stay here.â
âOkay!â I smiled at her sweetly.
