Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 553
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Sylviaâs POV:
When we proposed the exchange, Hobson burst into hoarse laughter.
âI donât give a damn about those vampires,â Hobson said calmly.
Leonard pounded his fists on the desk and said angrily, âHobson, so many years have passed but youâre still so good at pretending.â
Hobson fell silent for a few seconds. When he spoke again, his voice was hard and irritable. âI didnât expect you to be on this call.â
Leonard snorted coldly but didnât say anything more.
âWhat do we have to do for you to let her go?â Rufus continued determinedly.
Hobson laughed. âSheâs just an ordinary she-wolf. Why do you care about her so much?â
âWeâre not cold-blooded vampires like you,â Leonard sneered impatiently. âExchanging hostages is the easiest way to deal with this problem. Weâre all very busy, so we donât have time to play tricks with you.â
Hobson paused slightly. âLet me talk to Sylvia. Then Iâll think about it.â
Rufus glanced at me and asked in a low voice, âIs that okay with you?â
I nodded.
Rufus handed the phone to me. After clearing my throat, I said clearly, âThis is Sylvia. Whatâs up?â
Hobson said seriously, âTurn off the speaker. Thisâll be our little secret.â
I turned to look at Rufus questioningly. He nodded and I turned off the speaker.
Pressing the phone against my ear, I said coldly, âWhat is it? I turned the speaker off already.â
However, Hobsonâs reply remained cryptic. âThe hunter will eventually find and eat the little rabbit. Hide it well.â
His words sent a shiver down my spine. âWhat on earth are you planning?â
Instead of answering my question, he just told me the time and place of the exchange.
âCome alone or Iâll kill that she-wolf. But I must be honest with you. Now that the auctionâs over, I canât guarantee that the she-wolf is unharmed.â Hobson laughed sinisterly and, without waiting for a response, hung up the phone.
âWhat did he say?â Rufus asked immediately when I put the phone down.
With a long face, I relayed to them everything Hobson had said.
âThat old bastard is as insidious as ever.â Leonard paced back and forth in front of the table. We were caught in a tricky situation. âThe place he specified is on vampire territory. Iâve been there once. The terrain is complicated and there are many secret passages. Itâll be easy for them to control the situation.â
âAnd he even asked to meet you at night. Itâs too dangerous,â Warren added worriedly.
Rufusâ expression hardened. I knew he wasnât going to let me go there alone.
âWarren and I are coming with you. Weâll play it by ear,â Rufus decided.
âButâ¦â I was a little hesitant. I didnât know what would happen. There was still a lot of unresolved problems at the border. Rufus needed to take charge to stabilize the public.
âItâll be fine if Leonardâs here.â As though he read my mind, Rufus insisted on his decision. He turned to Leonard and said, âPlease go to the armory and check it out for me. As for the reconstruction plan, Iâll rely on you. I trust you, Leonard.â
