Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 708
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Leonardâs POV:
My subconscious reaction seemed to have pissed Alina off even more. Her eyes turned red and she gnashed her teeth angrily.
âSo you do know.â
âI just found out.â I wanted to explain, but Alina wouldnât have believed me.
This came as a surprise. I had planned to break the news to her after the wedding, but she somehow found out about it sooner.
âI donât know how you know, but I only found out about it recently. I havenât even told her about itâ¦â Thinking of this, I laughed bitterly and felt that everything was spiraling out of control.
Alina sneered. âOh, please, Dad. Donât lie to me. Iâve seen it all! Iâve seen it with my own eyes. You trained her, you two ran in the forest in the wolf form, and you even licked her fur! Youâve never done any of those things with me! Youâve known that she was your daughter for a long time but you kept it from me!â
Alinaâs eyes welled up with tears and her pale face looked tired and weak.
The scene she described pertained to the time I gave Sylvia special training in the imperial capital. I didnât expect that she would know about it.
I felt so guilty. I had no idea I had hurt her like this. I just thought that she was unhappy with the marriage I arranged for her, but I didnât know that she was holding onto a lot of hurt.
âI thought you didnât like such things. Youâve never mentioned it before,â I said falteringly.
âItâs because you never asked!â she shot back ferociously. âEver since I was a child, youâve always made choices for me based on your own interests. You never asked me what I wanted. If you really cared about me as a father, you wouldnât have treated me like one of your soldiers!â
I was a little embarrassed. I wanted to explain myself, but a lump formed in my throat.
âYou were always like your mother. You were born a lady who didnât like fighting and killingââ
I looked at her sadly and tried to defend myself, but she cut me off abruptly.
âEnough! Lady, lady, ladyâ I donât want to be a lady at all! I never wanted to be a lady! You made me!â Alina was burning with deep, deep hatred. âIâve had enough! My life has been a living hell because of you! I thought that family would understand me, but you didnât. You were so selfish that you didnât care that you were suffocating me! In that case, letâs just die together. Iâll have no home after this anyway!â
I felt so guilty. I had no idea I had hurt her like this. I just thought that she was unhappy with the marriage I arranged for her, but I didnât know that she was holding onto a lot of hurt.
Seeing Alina break down, I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. âAlina, this is your home. Iâve never considered driving you away. I only arranged that marriage for you because I wanted you to live a stable, carefree life.â
I had never thought that I had hurt my own daughter so deeply. Her cruel accusations made me suddenly realize that I was never a good father.
âAlina, listen to me. I love you, but maybe I didnât know how to show itâ¦â
I wanted her to calm down, but she refused to listen to me. When I tried to take a step closer, she swung the dagger frantically.
âAlina, put down the knife. You might hurt yourself.â I was a little worried. Alina was way too emotional. I had to find a way to calm her down.
âOh, please, Dad!â Alina roared, wagging the dagger at my face. âYou care about me? No, you donât. I know why youâre so anxious to marry me off to another pack. You just want to get rid of me so that Sylvia can inherit your place!â
