Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 741
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Rufusâ POV:
I held Sylvia in my arms and whispered to her, âIâm sorry, babe. I didnât tell them about your pregnancy. The doctor who examined you back in Leonardâs pack told them about it. He seemed to have treated Leonard before. You know many questions regarding Leonardâs untimely death still remain unanswered. My father wanted to know more about it, so he called the doctor and found out youâre expecting a child.â
Sylvia lowered her head uneasily. She fiddled with the buttons on my sleeve in silence. Seeing her like this was enough to make me worried.
I knew that she was at a loss on what to do. It was my fault. I should have informed the doctor beforehand since Sylvia hadnât been fully mentally prepared for it.
While I did what I could to soothe her, my dad insisted Sylvia have another bowl of tonic soup.
I sighed heavily while I cradled Sylvia in my arms. Now Iâd had to chug the soup for her again.
After dealing with my overly excited parents, I immediately fled with Sylvia. We must stay away from them for a while. Even I couldnât manage my overenthusiastic parents, let alone Sylvia.
After walking out of the palace, Sylvia suddenly burst into laughter.
I turned my head in confusion and was greeted by her radiant smile and sparkling eyes. She didnât look depressed at all.
Seeing her like this immediately lightened my mood. I gently pinched her cheek and asked, âWhy are you laughing so happily?â
âNothing. I just think that your parents are so adorable.â The smile on her face widened, and her entire face lit up.
âDonât you feel uneasy anymore?â I rubbed her nose gently and couldnât help but lower my head to k**s her lips.
Sylvia shook her head. âNo, Iâm fine because youâre here with me.â
My heart throbbed, and the warmth spread throughout my body. This was a comforting feeling that couldnât be put into words. I took her hand, and we slowly made our way back to my palace, enjoying this little moment alone.
âDonât worry. I will protect you no matter what happens.â
âMe too,â Sylvia replied with a twinkle in her eyes.
âWhat?â I turned to look at her with amusement.
âI will protect you too, no matter what happens.â Sylvia repeated what I said. Her eyes were intently glued to me as if she was making an important promise.
After locking eyes with her for a while, I reached for her hand, clasping our fingers together. âI hope we wonât be separated again. Can you promise me that, Sylvia?â
Sylvia paused for a moment as she gazed at our interlocked fingers. âWhat should we do? We are going to be separated tonight.â
âWhat do you mean?â I thought I had misheard her. My mind was a mess for a moment as I tightened my hold on her.
However, to my surprise, Sylvia burst into laughter. She raised her eyes and grinned broadly before saying, âBecause Iâm going back to my dormitory tonight.â
âWhy? Flora isnât there. Layla also doesnât come back after she returned to her pack. There is no one else in the dorm but you. Why are you still going back?â
Sylvia pressed her lips in distress. She looked at me while feigning a frown.
I immediately reflected on what I did today and wondered if I had done anything wrong, but I couldnât think of anything. I pursed my lips and said aggrievedly, âTell me why you want to go back to the dormitory. I wonât let you go back if you donât have a valid excuse.â
Sylvia wanted to say something but refrained after giving it some thought. After a while, she stammered, âIâm pregnant right now. If I sleep in the same bed with you, we might have s*x. But the baby is still too smallâ¦â
Because of this, I instantly broke into a chuckle. âHoney, do I look so horny to you? I know you are pregnant, so I wonât do anything to you. Besides, we have slept together for the past few nights, and nothing happened, right? You are pregnant, and you need someone to take good care of you.â
âButâ¦â Sylvia lowered her head to the floor and traced circles with her foot. I should have expected this behavior from her whenever she was depressed.
My irritation grew at Sylviaâs insistence. âWhatâs wrong, honey? Tell me if anything is bothering you, and letâs discuss it together.â
Sylvia pouted her lips and mumbled, âItâs just that⦠Iâve been with you ever since I came to the imperial palace. I need some private space.â
