Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 742
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Rufusâ POV:
Sylviaâs words left me at a loss. It made my heart ache. I knew my possessiveness would sometimes make her think I wasnât giving her any sense of freedom, so I had been trying my best to restrain myself. I didnât want to frighten her.
But even after all my efforts, it still didnât work.
I slowly let go of her hand and looked down. âIâm sorryâ¦â
Sylvia lowered her head as well and simply went silent.
My heart ached when I saw her like that. I kept silent for a while too until I decided to compromise.
âLetâs go. Iâll walk you back to your dormitory.â
I didnât look back and simply went ahead. Although I wasnât looking at her, the sound of her footsteps let me know that she was following me at a distance.
I felt terrible, but I didnât want to take her back to the palace by force like I did before. I was afraid of the possibility that she would hate me more.
Both of us stayed silent until we arrived at the dormitory building.
âHave a good rest. If anything happensâ¦â I paused for a moment. âJust call me.â
Just when I was about to turn around and leave, she grasped the edge of my shirt, causing me to stop in my tracks.
I took a deep breath and turned around. Sylvia looked down and slowly clenched her hand into a fist while she tugged on my shirt. It seemed as if she was afraid that I would leave her behind.
âI love you, Rufus,â She said, her voice a bit hoarse as she tried to hold back her tears. When she looked up at me, her cheeks were stained with tears. I could tell by the look in her eyes that she felt guilty. âI didnât mean to say that and make you sad. I justâ¦â
Just then, she began sobbing, causing her words to be almost incomprehensible. She probably couldnât hold back her feelings any longer.
I took a step forward and raised her chin before leaning over for a k**s.
As our lips met, the misunderstandings and unspoken feelings instantly disappeared.
Sylvia reciprocated the passionate k**s by loosening her grip on my shirt and closing her eyes as she wrapped her arms around my neck.
After a while, I broke the k**s and gently wiped the tears off her face.
Sylvia steadied her breathing before she whispered, âItâs not what you think. Iâve been in a bad mood recently, and I just want to be alone.â
âI understand, baby,â I said as I kissed her forehead. It was normal for her to be like that. So many things had happened recently, and I would have trouble wrapping my head around what was going on too if I was in her shoes.
Sylvia leaned her head on my shoulder for a while before reluctantly backing away from me. âIâll go upstairs first, then.â
I didnât leave even after the light in her room was on. I stood there for quite some time as I smoked.
Even though Sylvia tried to clear up the misunderstanding, I couldnât help but feel like she was still hiding something from me.
I pondered if I was too clingy to the point where I made her feel suffocated by my presence. If it was possible, I truly wanted her to be with me all the time.
âSylviaâs probably mad,â Omar suddenly said.
âMad? Why do you say that?â I was really confused.
Omar heaved a sigh. âYou donât get it, do you? Sylvia is pregnant and your parents are already discussing your marriage, but you havenât even proposed yet! I think itâs only natural to assume that a she-wolf will get mad if her mate doesnât care about their marriage.â
My eyes widened in realization. Omar was right. Sylvia was probably mad now.
I wanted to propose to her a long time ago, but it got delayed because of all the things that happened recently.
It was a good thing that Omar reminded me about it. I needed to prioritize the proposal as soon as possible.
