Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 758
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Sylviaâs POV:
It was this cheeky devil again.
When I opened my eyes, I immediately saw Blairâs smirking face.
I wordlessly sat up and raised my chin, indicating for him to close the door.
Blair clicked his tongue and went to close the door. Then he faced me again and joked, âDo you really have to do this? I know you pretended to pass out just to avoid the proposal. If you didnât want to marry him, you shouldâve just let him know.â
âItâs not that Iâm unwilling to marry him, Blair. You have no idea whatâs going on here, so just shut up.â I rolled my eyes in annoyance. Was I that bad at acting? I couldnât believe he saw through me at a glance and figured out that I was pretending the whole time.
Blair raised an eyebrow as he crossed his arms over his chest. âWhat on earth do you want to do then? You love him, so why donât you want to get married? Besides, youâre already pregnant.â
My head began to hurt, so I kneaded my temples and sighed. âItâs complicated. Anyway, I just need to go back to my pack to get that book first.â
âBut youâre pregnant and your babyâs condition is unstable. If you go back to your pack now, youâll be putting both yourself and your baby in danger. Why donât we postpone the plan for now?â Blair exclaimed. I could tell that he was hesitant about my rash decision.
I sighed. âI heard the doctor say that my babyâs condition is unstable, but I know what Iâm doing. I have to go, but I donât think the original plan will work now. Rufus wonât even let me leave the imperial palace.â
I originally wanted to lie about having to carry out the army mission and let Blair take me away from the imperial palace. Now that I had pretended to faint, Rufus would probably think I was weak, which would cause him to not let me carry out any tasks.
That was why I had to leave the imperial palace in secret.
My head began pounding as I thought about having to sneak out. Everything seemed to be going out of control.
âBut I still need your help, Blair. When youâre on a mission next time, Iâll pretend to be a soldier and sneak into your team.â
Blair didnât agree immediately. He just frowned at me and pondered for a moment. He was probably thinking about the practicality of the plan.
âAre you sure you can do this? Youâre pregnant, you know?â He glanced down at my belly.
I touched my belly and smiled. âI can show you a backflip right now if you want me to prove my point.â
âNo thanks.â Blair grimaced. At that point, he already knew he had no other choice but to agree. âWhen are you going to do this? Iâll tell Rufus about the mission one day earlier.â
I pondered for a while before saying, âNext Monday. Rufus is going to preside over the meeting for the first time on that day on his fatherâs behalf and will gradually take over his work. I think heâll be too busy to keep an eye on me that day, so I can take advantage of the opportunity to escape.â
âAlright.â Blair nodded. âRest well, okay?â
I nodded in response before he turned around and left, not bothering to stay any longer.
As soon as the door closed, Yanaâwho had been silent for quite some timeâbegan complaining. âSylvia, I think youâve gone too far. You should never lie to your mate. Youâre hiding more than one thing from Rufus now!â
âI know, but I have no choice, Yana. We have to find my motherâs inheritance book as soon as possible and refine the bug. I need as much time as possible before I can find a way to lift the curse on Rufus,â I replied, feeling helpless and guilty. Sometimes, I truly wanted to tell Rufus everything on impulse, but the rational part of me told me otherwise. I knew him too well. If he were to be backed into a corner, he would choose to die rather than forget about me.
He would probably give up on the throne if I were to tell him everything, and that would only shatter Ethanâs hope again. I didnât want to see that happen.
I still remembered how happy Ethan was when he found out that Noreenâs curse on Rufus had been removed. His joy knew no bounds.
If something were to happen to Rufus again, he probably wouldnât be able to withstand it.
I was the root cause of the problem, so I should take all the responsibility to solve it. If I failed to do so, maybe it just meant that I didnât deserve to be happy with my beloved.
Yana simply heaved a sigh and gave up on persuading me. She went silent for a moment until she suddenly said, âRufusâ scent is getting closer.â
Hearing her say that, I immediately lay down and pretended to be asleep. But to my surprise, Rufus stayed at the door. He didnât even take a single step inside.
