Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 788
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Sylviaâs POV:
Shawn swiftly sprang to his feet and seized the soldierâs collar. âWhat did you say? Who is here?â he asked in disbelief.
âPrince Rufusâ¦â the soldier replied, his voice trembling.
Startled, I instantly knew that Rufus was here to catch me.
Several days had passed since we left the capital city. Rufus being able to locate us was not unusual. After all, he had spies all over the empire.
Blair and I exchanged glances and immediately decided that we should run now.
âWhy is Prince Rufus suddenly here?â He then glanced at Blair and me. Because Shawn had lost his teeth, he sounded funny as he spoke.
âHe⦠He said we have to hand over his people, or he would raze the entire pack to the ground,â informed the soldier.
âF**k!â Shawn cursed, appearing perplexed as to how he should handle the unexpected circumstance.
I secretly gestured toward Blair. When Shawn and others werenât looking, we immediately turned around and ran in the opposite direction.
In a flash, Shawn ordered the soldiers to chase after us. âGet them! Capture them at all costs, or the pack would be doomed! Whoever catches them first will receive a generous reward.â
In an instant, the guests who had been friendly to me earlier changed their expressions and rushed over to us.
âDamn it!â Blair cursed and stood in front of me to keep me safe. âSylvia, you run first.â
I felt uneasy as I saw the group of men approaching us from behind. âI canât. We are surrounded.â
âThen we have to fight a way out,â Blair said calmly as he knocked a soldier out to the ground.
However, aside from the soldiers, there were still a lot of guests present, most of whom were well-dressed aristocrats and innocent children.
Being decent soldiers as we were, Blair and I didnât dare to do anything to hurt them. We had no choice but to resist passively.
Shawn summoned some elderly she-wolves and little children to surround us since he seemed to realize that we dared not harm these people.
I scolded Shawn in my heart. He was really despicable and shameless.
âWhat should we do?â I asked Blair.
Looking at the row of kids in front of us, I didnât know what to do.
Blair stood in front of me and rummaged through his pocket. I thought he was going to pull the gun again. But just as I was about to stop him from hurting the children, he took out a handful of candies.
He then handed them to a child in the lead and said, âTake these and share them with the other kids.â
Seeing that there were candies, the rest of the children were distracted.
I gave Blair a low-pitched compliment. âAwesome! Where did you get so many candies?â
âI was worried you might suffer from hypoglycemia, so I had them ready in advance.â Blair chuckled, patted me on the shoulder, and casually booted away a soldier. âIs that the best you can do? Come on, all of you! Show me what youâve got.â
Shawn was a person who couldnât stand provocation. So when he heard Blairâs words, he was irritated. âAll of you, go and catch them! Donât show them any mercy.â
Hearing Shawnâs command, the soldiers and the citizens wasted no time and flocked around Blair.
Now, no one had their eyes on me. Noticing this, Blair winked at me, signaling me to run away.
I hesitated for a moment. But after seeing Blair handle those people with ease, I ran to a corner when no one was looking.
When I finally managed to escape from the crowd, Cherry, who was dressed in tatters, suddenly emerged out of nowhere, grabbed my thighs, and begged me to take her with me.
