Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 813
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Alinaâs POV:
As I watched Rufus and Sylvia, who had suddenly appeared in front of me, I subconsciously touched the ring Iâd just worn. I was inexplicably flustered all of a sudden.
Every time I saw Sylvia, something bad happened. Besides, she and Rufus were eyeing me very aggressively. They didnât seem to be here to celebrate the ceremony.
I forced a smile and tried to look calm. âPrince Rufus, what suddenly brings you here? And your mateâ¦â
Speaking of Sylvia, I paused and then chose the word mate because I really didnât want to mention the name that made me instinctively sick.
Rufus was still so handsome. It would be better if he didnât speak. Every time he opened his mouth, I wished he could have just been a dumb handsome man.
But I was not in the mood to admire his good-looking face now, because my gut was warning me that I was doomed.
Rufus snorted and blurted out, âYou look cheerful. You stepped on Leonardâs corpse and got the Alphaâs position, and it seems that you actually quite enjoy it.â
âWhat do you mean?â I was unnerved as I stared at his handsome face. Damn it! What did he mean by that? Had I somehow exposed myself?
I glanced at Sylvia again. As expected, she was glaring at me as if I had killed her father.
My heart leaped to my throat, and my back was instantly drenched with cold sweat.
âPrince Rufus, what do you mean?â Edwin, who looked as frail as a man on his deathbed, suddenly became energetic with sharp eyes. âWhat do you mean by saying that Alina stepped on her fatherâs corpse to ascend to the Alpha position? Havenât we already found Leonardâs murderer?â
âNo, Alina is the one who killed Leonard.â
Rufusâ words successfully shocked everyone.
Edwin, Owen, and the others stared at me in disbelief.
I took one step back and shook my head frantically. âNo! It wasnât me! How could I kill my father?â
âThatâs right, Prince Rufus. How could Alina kill her own father? He was her biological father, and he loved her so much.â
Owen became a little emotional and began to cough violently. Warren rushed to his side to comfort him.
Although Edwin was also shocked, he didnât instantly believe the accusation. He fixed his serious gaze on Rufus and said, âWe canât simply believe your mere words, Prince Rufus. Do you have any evidence?â
âPerhaps there has been some mistake, Prince Rufus? Iâve watched Alina grow up. She is not that kind of cruel person.â Owen scrutinized me with a complex expression and seriously asked, âAm I right, Alina? I donât believe youâre the kind of person who would kill her father.â
My lips quivered. âYes, yes, he was my father!â
âAnyway, we still need evidence,â Edwin interjected.
I had been racking my brains, trying to recall the whole series of events. I remembered with certainty that Noreen was the only one who knew the truth. There was no way she would reveal this to Sylvia and the others. Besides, I had tampered the surveillance cameras in the corridor, so no one else would know what happened.
How could Rufus have got his hands on any evidence? Maybe he and Sylvia were just bluffing and wanted me to implicate myself.
I inhaled deeply and considered how to give an explanation. Just as I was about to speak, Rufus extracted a crystal ball slightly bigger than a fist from the canvas bag Sylvia carried.
âThis crystal ball will show what happened that day. Letâs see if my claims are true or not.â
After saying this, he placed the crystal ball on his palm and was about to activate it.
I had seen this crystal ball before. Noreen had used it to show me how well my father and Sylvia got along in private! So they werenât pretending!
Panic overwhelmed me. While no one was paying attention, I charged forward, wanting to smash the crystal ball.
