Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 831
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Sylviaâs POV:
Judging from Joannaâs attitude, I was certain that it was Noreen.
I nearly went insane. Damn it! Noreen was literally everywhere.
âItâs the person you described,â Joanna whispered.
âI see.â Feeling a little relieved, I questioned her about her true identity. âRufus discovered that youâre not John. The real John died two years ago.â
Joannaâs lips curled up with disdain. âI know heâs dead. Because Iâm that loserâs twin sister.â
I was a little taken aback. Did this mean Joanna was actually the daughter of an Alpha? But why had Johnâs parents claimed that they had no knowledge of it?
When were at school, we knew that John was the son and successor of an Alpha. But at that time, several rumors had been floating about that John was dissolute and incompetent, and he was a worthless person. However, when Iâd become acquainted with John at school, I discovered that he wasnât as bad as the rumors claimed. Instead, he was pretty amazing.
At that time, weâd all thought that the rumors were false. It was only now that we knew we had mistaken someone else for him.
Still, there was no doubt that compared with the dead John, Joanna was superior in all aspects, including her capabilities and the manner in which she handled situations.
I just couldnât comprehend why she would assume Johnâs identity. And why did her parents deny her existence?
Noticing my puzzled expression, she began to narrate her story. âBefore I was born, a witch had prophesized to my mother that the twins in her womb couldnât both live. If she didnât give up one of them, it would bring disaster on the entire pack.â
âSo your mother believed the witch?â
Joanna shook her head and indifferently replied, âNot at first. But the day she gave birth, a sudden avalanche took place in the northern region of our pack, leading to the death of numerous werewolves. Everyone else immediately believed this prophecy and thought this was the disaster the witch was talking about. All the elders of the pack gathered to force my mother to make a choice.â
When I heard this, I thought it was absurd that a witchâs prophecy could wipe out a life.
âMaybe the avalanche was just an accident. It might be just a coincidence,â I commented.
âWho knows?â Joanna sneered. She seemed to be in a sour mood as she stared at the light on the wall. âI was born ten minutes after John. And also because Iâm female, I was the one they abandoned.â
I didnât speak up and just listened quietly with rapt attention.
âMy mother wanted to keep me, but the elders of the pack threatened her with their lives. They all claimed that if I didnât die, the whole pack would certainly descend into chaos. At that time, my father was also in a quandary. This issue was directly linked to the future of the pack after all. He didnât have the guts to take a risk, so he instructed my mother to drown me.â
Tears welled up in Joannaâs eyes and her voice began to shake. Her beautiful face was lined with a sadness Iâd never witnessed before.
I had always got the impression that Joanna was brave but a loner, and nothing affected her. Emotions or desires translated to burdens for her, so she had always led a solitary life.
Fortunately, an exception in the form of Harry appeared in her life.
Once a person had a weakness, he or she would no longer be indifferent to the whole world.
âHow did you survive later?â I looked at her with furrowed eyebrows, conflicting emotions roiling inside me. Although I hadnât spent much time with her in the past, I still felt sorry for her miserable situation. No matter what, I believed that I should help her when I knew she was innocent.
Not only for Harryâs sake, but also for the friendship between us as former classmates.
âMy mother didnât have the heart to kill me herself, so she took off all my clothes and tossed me in the barren snowy mountain, leaving me to fend for myself.â Joanna took a deep breath, trying to restrain her raging emotions. âI should have died, but I was lucky enough to be rescued by someone.â
