Fated to the Cursed Lycan Prince Chapter 939
Fated To The Cursed Lycan Prince
Crystalâs POV:
Laura and I were both flustered by Rufusâ unexpected visit. Laura quickly stood up from her seat and walked over to him. âWhyâd you come here unannounced? Whereâs Beryl?â
âSheâs asleep,â Rufus answered briefly as he walked to the table.
I quickly turned my back to keep Rufus from seeing my son and continued to wrap the bandages around the boyâs face with trembling fingers. At the same time, I grasped the mask hung around my neck and hurriedly put it on my face.
âSo whatâre you doing here?â Laura asked, blatantly blocking us from Rufusâ sight and preventing him from walking to me.
âI was about to leave when I saw your doctor rushing here. I thought something bad happened to you, so I came here to check,â Rufus answered in a concerned tone.
âIâm fine, Rufus,â Laura said curtly. It sounded as though she was one step away from dragging Rufus out of the room herself.
âBut what happened? Whyâd you send for the doctor all of a sudden?â Rufus asked in confusion.
âCome. Letâs talk outside.â
After Laura pulled Rufus out of the room, I heaved a sigh of relief and finished up bandaging Arronâs face.
Arron squinted his doe-like eyes at me and asked in a childish voice, âWho was that?â
I choked, not knowing what to say.
âThe lycan king?â Arron then answered his own question.
I was shocked. âHowâd you know that?â
Arron smiled, revealing his adorable dimples. He said in a calm voice, âI guessed it.â
Amused, I rubbed the tip of his nose and said in a soft voice, âYouâre so smart, honey. Youâre right. Heâs the lycan king and he saved your sister.â
Arronâs eyes lit up. âThen whereâs Beryl?â
I sighed and touched his forehead gently. âYour sister got seriously injured. She doesnât remember us now, so she has to stay with the lycan king for the time being.â
The light died in Arronâs eyes. He put down the biscuits in his hand and said dejectedly, âBut I want to see my sister.â
âIâll take you to see her when she gets better.â I rubbed his back, trying to comfort him.
âOkay, Mommy.â Arron nodded resolutely. Pouting, he climbed onto the chair, gathered all the biscuits and other desserts on the table, and put them back into the box. âIâll eat these with Beryl when she comes back.â
My heart softened. I leaned over and kissed Arronâs forehead. âItâll spoil if you donât eat them soon. Donât worry about your sister. Grandma and I will take good care of her.â
Arron grinned from ear to ear. âI have an idea, Mommy. Iâll eat some and keep a bit for Beryl. She can eat it when she comes back.â
âOkay, thatâs a good idea.â Grinning back at him, I scooped him up and walked over to the bed. âNow, Arron, lie down and get some rest. Iâll go out to see if the doctorâs here.â
Arron nodded obediently. âMommy, come back quickly, okay?â
After settling Arron in, I went to the door. However, as soon as I opened it, I saw Rufus outside with his fist up, as though he was just about to knock.
Subconsciously, I stood on tiptoe to block Rufusâs view of the room.
Rufus frowned and stared at me with an unfathomable expression.
âWhatâre you looking at?â I asked in the calmest tone I could muster.
After a long while, Rufus finally said, âThe lace on your mask is untied.â
Hearing this, I touched the lace around my ear and found that it was indeed undone, pinned behind my ear by a hairpin.
I turned around in embarrassment and quickly tied the mask properly.
Just then, the doctor arrived. Laura led the doctor over, pulled Rufus away, and subtly pushed me into the room.
âWait outside,â Laura said to Rufus. Without waiting for a response, she shut the door in his face.
