Chapter 13 A Reversal that the Woman Servant Framed Qu Qiuyan up

“Who is your master?” Qu Moying asked casually.

“I…I serve the Third Lady and just come back.” The woman servant replied hurriedly. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

“You wanted to throw me into the water by running into my boat, right?” Qu Moying continued. Though her eyes couldn’t be seen, the coldness in her words was clear. “Who came up with the idea?”

“I…I…” The woman servant let her eyes wander and looked around.

Suddenly, the rudder to which she clung was pressed into the water, making her sank with it, too. Her head was submerged, so she swallowed much water. Her hands and feet went limp, and she felt again that she would die here.

“My Lady, I mean…the Third Lady sent me here…” The woman servant shouted and struggled desperately to get out of the water. She wanted to browbeat Qu Moying by virtue of Qu Qiuyan’s influence.

The rudder rose out of the water, and so did the woman servant. She almost lied prone on the rudder and coughed heavily.

“My sister wants to throw me into the water? Why?” Qu Moying looked indifferently at the woman servant and asked by misunderstanding her meaning deliberately.

“Does she want to damage the reputation and the eyes of my lady?” Yu Chun was furious. At the thought that her lady nearly had an accident under her nose, she was so angry that she wanted to kill the woman servant here.

“No…no…” The woman tried to explain while coughing.

She went out on an errand this morning and just came back. On her way back, she saw Qu Moying and her servant girl board the boat by chance. Knowing the Second Madam and the Third Lady hated the Fourth Lady deeply, she boarded another boat by the lake and paid the boatman a high price to crash into Qu Moying’s boat to throw her into the water.

She intended to let the boatman rescue Qu Moying after she had swallowed enough water. In this way, not only Qu Moying’s reputation was damaged, but her eyes might be blinded. She heard that the eyes of the Fourth Lady were burnt in childhood and were almost blind. If she fell into such an icy lake, her eyes would probably be blind completely.

If so, the Second Madam and the Third Lady would reward her.

“The Third Lady wanted to throw my lady into the water and damage her reputation and eyes?” Taking Qu Moying’s hint, Yu Chun rebuked loudly with her arms on her hips.

The woman servant was clear about what happened yesterday. Neither Granny Wang nor Qing He’s family came to a good end. What Yu Chun said warned her that if she didn’t pass the buck to the Third Lady, she would lose her life here and her family would be involved.

She shuddered and glanced at Qu Moying subconsciously.

The smile had disappeared on Qu Moying’s face. She pressed her pink lips tightly, looking cold and heartless.

The woman servant was frightened. She was afraid that she might die here and her family would get into trouble because of what she did rashly today. After all, Qing He’s family were sold!

“The Third…Third Lady…” The woman servant had to give such an answer. She was trembling all over, not knowing whether she was scared or cold.

“You mean the Third Lady told you to murder my lady. Why?” Yu Chun continued to ask loudly.

The woman servant was forced to give a more detailed answer. She stammered, “The Third Lady said…if the Fourth Lady fell into the water, her eyes…eyes would be really blind, and even if the boatman rescued her, her…her reputation…would be damaged…”

The noise attracted several boats. Hearing what the woman servant said, some people began to criticize her and guessed who the sinister Third Lady was.

“Pull her up.” Finding the time was ripe, Qu Moying said so and returned to the cabin.

Zhou An pulled up the woman servant. Yu Chun found a blanket in the boat and threw it to her. She shuddered with cold and wrapped herself with the blanket. Her face looked blue with cold, and her lips became colorless. She followed Yu Chun into the cabin like a drowned mouse.

“Will you go back to testify against Qu Qiuyan now?” Seeing the woman servant come in, Qu Moying asked coldly. Her eyes behind the veil were cold. She showed the servant a way.

The servant’s feet went limp, and she kneeled on the ground heavily, “Please forgive me. Please forgive me!”
