Chapter 718
Obsessed CEO Throws Himself at Me full chapter
Chapter 718 On the other end, Arielle was checking the monthly report at Maureenâs Kitchen.
To her surprise, the normal-sized restaurant actually had an operating cash flow of three hundred thousand.
Although three hundred thousand was not a lot to her, it was a hefty sum for an ordinary restaurant.
âThank you for your hard work. Iâve seen the report, and it looks fine.â Arielle handed the report back to the manager.
At that, the manager let out a relieved sigh. âMr. Nightshire has asked me to manage this restaurant well. Iâm glad that youâre all right with the report.â
When Arielle heard that, she was silent for a moment before flashing the manager a smile. âHave you ever thought of making the restaurant a chain store?â
âA chain store?â The manager shook his head. âI have never thought of that.â
âMaybe you should think about it. Iâm thinking of making Maureenâs Kitchen into a restaurant chain across the country. If things go well, perhaps we can make it a restaurant chain across the globe.â
The managerâs eyes lit up instantly. âReally?â.
Arielle nodded. âThis restaurant means a lot to me, and I hope to expand its business. However, youâd have to communicate with the chef to come up with more signature dishes before anything else.â
The manager patted his chest in glee.
âDonât worry. Iâll tell our head chef later. Iâm sure heâll be as happy as I am to hear this.â
Just then, a server entered and informed them, âThereâs a foreigner outside who canât read our menu. However, we canât speak Ustranasion either, do you think that...â
âIâll go.â After taking a few steps, Arielle turned to the manager and added, âIf weâre going to make it big, then weâll have to revamp the menu. From now on, weâll have both Chanaean and Ustranasion on the menu. Itâs best for us to have pictures as well.â
âSure, you can leave this to me!â
Arielle nodded before following the server out to the dining area.
âOver there.â The server pointed in a direction.
Right as Arielle turned to look, the customer excitedly rushed over to greet her, âSan? Is that you? Oh my god! I never thought itâd be you!â
Arielleâs mind blanked out for a second before it registered Thomasâ wrinkly, bearded face.
âP-Professor Harlem.â
Thomas enthusiastically grabbed her hand tightlyâit was as if he was afraid she would flee the scene. Then, he asked in a trembling voice, âBe honest with me. Was it you that I saw at Jadeborough University?â
âProfessor Harlem, please let go of my hand first...â
âIf you donât admit to it, I wonât let you go.â
Arielle had witnessed first-hand how stubborn Thomas could be, for it had been numerous times when he had bugged her for days just to solve a question.
Thus, she had no other option but to say, âYes, itâs me. Could you please let me go now?â
Thomas finally let her go as he curiously asked, âWhy are you at Jadeborough University? When did you come back to Chanaea?â
âItâs been a few months. Iâm back to deal with some private matters. Are you here to eat? This is my restaurant, actually. Why donât I treat you to a meal? Iâd like to ask a favor from you.â
âWhat is it?â
âCould you please keep my identity a secret?â
âOf course! Still, you have to tell me what youâre doing at Jadeborough University. You canât have been hired as a tutor by them, right? Iâm telling you now. I was first to invite you to become a tutor at Maxwell University. You canât just start working for Jadeborough University!â
A weak smile appeared on Arielleâs face at that. Soon, the two were eating and chatting away at a table. She briefly told him about how she was at Jadeborough University to look for someone, but she also added that she could not tell him why she was keeping her identity a secret.
Nevertheless, Thomas was quick to promise. âNo problems. Iâll just say that Iâve come across a student who speaks Lightspring Ustranasion well. However, I have to say that Jadeborough University really isnât as good as Maxwell University.â
With that, Thomas began telling Arielle about Wendyâs incident.
Arielle was surprised; she never thought Wendy would make a lowly mistake like that.
Still fuming, Thomas said, âIf sheâs not capable enough to do the translation, she can just keep learning. However, itâs a completely different matter to not be honest. A student like her would never be accepted by Maxwell University.â
