Chapter 11
I Love You More, Cade by Coral Hume ( Nydia and Jackson)
Chapter 11
Although Nydia wore a turtleneck sweater to the company, Alison still saw what was inside when she
went to the bathroom midway to fix her makeup and her nails hooked onto the neckline.
Alison smiled ambiguously and raised her eyebrow at Nydia. âMs. Sharp, what is on your neck? Mosquito bites? But itâs winter now.ââ
Being teased by her, Nydia unconsciously blushed again..
âBitten by a dog.â She looked up to check the hickeys and frowned in exasperation. Cade was like a mad dog last night.
âThatâs quite a dog you have at home then.â Alison snickered.
Nydia elbowed her. âStop it.â
The two were talking, and suddenly, they heard two girls in the cubes gossiping. They were not
speaking loudly, but the bathroom was quiet. Nydia
and Alison were able to hear every word clearly.
The first girl said, âDo you know why Mr. Jackson didnât come to the company today? Usually, he is the first one to arrive at the company, Ms. Brooks didnât come either.â
âTell me about it! What happened?â asked the second girl.
âI heard that Ms. Brooks committed suicide at home last night,â answered the first girl.
Nydia was stunned and turned to Alison, who was also frozen in shock. Alison shook her head at her, indicating that she didnât know either.
The second girl was shocked as well. âJesus! For real? But she looked perfectly normal yesterday.â
The first girl continued, âItâs solid. I heard Mr. Jackson waited outside the rescue room, stayed up all night, and did not come to the company today.â
Alison did not expect the news to be so explosive and turned to look at Nydia before she could hear

more.
Nydia was wiping her hands with tissues. Alison couldnât see her expression with her head lowered.
But no matter what, a woman must be devastated when she heard about her husband and his mistress, so Alison tried to make those girls shut up by deliberately coughing heavily in their direction.
But they simply ignored her and continued.
The first girl asked, âWhat if she knows?â
The âsheâ meant Nydia, of course.
Alison couldnât help but think inwardly, âShe might want to slap you in the face.â
âThereâs not much she could do, I guess. Besides, it really doesnât matter. Mr. Jackson doesnât love her at all. He wonât care about how she feels. I think she will be kicked soon.â
The two girls were nonstop.
Alison wanted to kick their gossipy asses and was about to do it when Nydia faintly said, âWe should get back. Thereâs a meeting later.â
âFine.â Alison followed her silently, cursing Cade and Josephine inwardly. She couldnât understand why Cade did this to Nydia, who had worked hard in the Jackson Group for years. Was it because she had no parents to back her up? That would be awful.
Compared to Alison, Nydia was much calmer. At first, she was shocked to hear that Josephine had committed suicide. She didnât expect her to give up her life for love. She certainly wouldnât do it, anyway. Her life was a blessed gift from her parents, and no one could be the reason to give up her life except for herself.
But she quickly realized Josephine was merely forcing Cade to choose by making this scene after being irritated last night. Useful, but crazy.
But apparently, Cade dug this. Because for the next three days, Cade did not come to the company, nor did he return home.
