Cade’s patience wore off. He said coldly, “I’m not in love with her.

If it were in the past, Josephine would believe it. But now, she knew his quick answer was to protect his ego. This made Josephine feel even more desperate.

She suddenly collapsed to the ground as if someone had drained her of energy. She looked at the man in front of her with tears. “Cade, you can’t leave me. You said that you would make me your wife.”

Cade did not look at her at all. He picked up his phone and called Stuart. “Get a doctor up here.”

“I’m the only Mrs. Jackson. No one can take it away from me,” Josephine repeated.

Cade tugged at his tie in frustration and sat on the sofa opposite her.

Stuart quickly brought the doctor in. As soon as Josephine saw Stuart, she pounced on him and slapped him again. This time, Stuart dodged in time. She hit him once in the daytime and left a red mark on his face. He would not take another slap from her.

Josephine did not allow the doctor to touch her at all. She only cooperated obediently when Cade gave her a look.

After an examination, the doctor said respectfully, “Sir, nothing is wrong with this lady. She just suffered some mental stimulation, which is why she has a stress reaction.”

“I told you I’m not sick.” Josephine looked at Cade aggrievedly.

Cade said with a cold face, “Are you sure? If you make a mistake. I’ll make you pay.”

Since he had said so, the doctor did not dare to be too confident. Hence, he immediately corrected himself. “There’s no problem for the time being, but for the specifics, you still have to bring her to the hospital for a comprehensive checkup.”

Cade frowned unhappily. He waved his arm that was leaning against the armrest of the sofa. Stuart understood and left with the doctor.

Josephine finally quieted down. She leaned against the leg of the chair weakly as if she was about to fall asleep, still muttering Cade’s name. She looked extremely pitiful.

Cade could not bear it. He stood up and walked to her side. He bent down to carry her. to the bed and covered her with the blanket. Josephine’s breathing gradually calmed down.

Cade turned to leave. He saw the medicine bottle on the bedside table with a glance. He frowned slightly and picked it up to take a look.
