Josephine!â The veins on Cadeâs forehead popped out as he called her name coldly.

tiptoed to kiss him.
âCade, kiss me, please,â she begged.
Cade had reached his limit. He pushed Josephine to the ground angrily, took off his jacket, and threw it on her. He shouted outside, âStuart.â
Stuart came in very quickly.
âTake her to the hospital now. I want a full checkâup tonight, no matter what it takes!â Cade demanded.
Having never seen Cade so furious, Josephine trembled in fear, pleading on her knees, âCade, Iâm not sick. Please, donât send me away.â
Cade shot a glance at Stuart, signaling him to act without delay.
âYes, sir.â Stuart immediately called the hotel manager over. After changing Josephineâs clothes, he dragged him to the hospital.

Exiting one âwine cellar,â Cade entered another.
The smell of alcohol in Nydiaâs room was stronger.
Frustrated, he raised his hand and pinched the space between his eyebrows.
Nydia, sprawled on the sofa, merely squinted at him before turning away. Drunk as shel was, she didnât want to face Cade.
Cadeâs eyes darkened. He walked over, picked her up, and placed her on the bed.
âWhy are you drinking?â he asked.
Her voice hoarse and cold, Nydia replied, âBecause I wanted to. No reason.â
Cade thought to himself, âIs she tired of pretending? Hot and cold, playing games with me?â

After letting out a cold sort, he grabbed her shoulders and fipped her over as face him.
âNydia, whatâs your game now, huh?â His tone was menacing as he igiened his grin causing her pain.
The pain sobered Nydia up a bit. Realizing she shouldnât provcite Cade. Nydia needed to âmake niceâ and gather evidence. She truly was out of her senses.
Her lips relaxed into a smile, and with a mix of reproach and appeal in her eyes, shee asked, âMr. Jackson, why are you late?â
Nydia wanted to act more realistically and reach out to book her arms around his neck But his cologne mixed with another womanâs perfume nauseated her making it impossible to ignore.
âYour acting has gotten worse.â Cade sneered leisurely awaiting ber next move.
Nydia forced a brighter smile, despite her knuckles turning white. Im doing my best Are you tired of it, Mr. Jackson?
Admitting her charade openly, something Cade had known all along, still burned him.
His slender fingers lifted her chin and sized her up. Cade, scrutinizing her, said. âAfter five years, yes. Iâm quite bored. Can you offer something fres
âWhat would you like to see?â Nydia challenged eyebrow raised.
The most difficult, something you may find unbearable. Cade replied with a cold laugh.
âThe most unbearable?â she repeated.
After a momentâs thought, Nydia looked into his eyes, warmth, and emotion brimming as she said, âMr. Jackson. I love you.â
The air froze in an instant. The cramped cold currents fled wantonly.
Nydia saw the last trace of warmth vanish from Cadeâs eyes. She had hit a nerve, something she shouldnât have done, but couldnât resist.
Cade looked at her, then suddenly smiled coldly, saying spitefully, âYouâre asking for it.â
Without hesitation, he bit her lip fiercely, unleashing a passion long suppressed.
Chapter 70
It had been a long time since Cade had been so crazy,
In the darkness, their breaths mingled, stirring waves of tumultuous desire.
Nydia didnât wake up until lunchtime. It was the closing day of the summit, and she had to attend.
Looking at her hickeys, she was livid. Luckily, her concealer worked wonders, masking most of the marks with several layers.
Waiting outside, Alison asked the moment Nydia appeared, âMs. Sharp, another dog bite last night?â
âIs it that obvious?â Nydia responded, defeated.
Alison, eyes crinkling with a smile, said, âYour skin is too fair; every little mark shows.â
Nydia went back inside to apply more concealer. Alison waited patiently, not minding the delay.
Nydia added another ten levels. This time, it should not be obvious.
After adding ten more layers, Nydia hoped it would be enough to hide the marks. She left her room and locked the door, glancing at Josephineâs door, which was shut tight with no sign of activity.
âMs. Sharp, donât bother. Sheâs not there.â Alison informed her.
Nydia paused. âHow do you know?â
âThe cleaning lady told me. She complained about the room being filled with rose petals, nearly exhausted from cleaning all morning,â Alison shared.
