Lu Jinnan could hear Bai Xiaonian grabbing her keys on the other end.

He could imagine Bai Xiaonian frantically changing her clothes and putting on her shoes while holding her phone in her other hand, then walking out after grabbing her keys off the top of the shoe cabinet.

Indeed, in the next moment, Lu Jinnan heard the sound of the door closing.

No choice, Lu Jinnan was henpecked. He looked up and asked Jacksel, “Where?”

Jacksel was rendered speechless.

Henpecked indeed!

Without waiting for Jacksel to speak, Lu Jinnan handed him the phone. “You tell her…”

Jacksel told Bai Xiaonian the address, then handed the phone to Lu Jinnan. Lu Jinnan had wanted to take back his phone and continue speaking with Bai Xiaonian, but it turned out that Bai Xiaonian had hung up.

Jacksel moved the tablet away and asked, “Since you want to see your wife, do you want to take a shower, change your clothes, and attend to your wounds?”

“You’re trying to obtain your wife’s sympathy?” Jacksel frowned, perplexed.

“You don’t get it. This is called ‘keeping the romance alive’. Let me guess… you and your wife must lead a boring life!” Lu Jinnan was in an excellent mood right now, so his words weren’t wicked.

Jacksel said gloomily, “Mr. Lu…”

“I told you to get those people to come over and let me beat them up, but you played dirty and forced me to call my wife. This was really off-putting!”
