Chapter 1306 - Like A Fool!

Lu Jinbei’s throat vibrated.

“You’ve been living with me for a while... You should already know what kind of bag and cosmetics I own! Can you afford them? Do you think feelings matter in this harsh society? Hur... I don’t want to lead a poor life. Do you understand?”

Hearing Cai Jingyao’s words, Lu Jinbei felt his head spinning.

“But... but you, you said that you loved me! For my sake... you even abandoned your endorsement deal. You said that we don’t need to buy a house, and we could just stay in your house. You told me you didn’t want me to switch careers... because you wanted me to realize my dream. You...”

Cai Jingyao then suddenly laughed. She took a few steps towards Lu Jinbei, resting her fair and pretty hand on his shoulder as she smiled seductively. “Or... have you really fallen for me?”

Cai Jingyao exuded a charm that made Lu Jinbei feel like she was a different person than the one she’d led him to believe. She chuckled as she brushed her fingers past Lu Jinbei’s face. “You’re too naive... and not suitable for me! Go back... stop fooling around with me!”

Lu Jinbei grabbed Cai Jingyao’s wrist and moved her hand away, refusing to let her touch his face. He was so forceful that he almost crushed Cai Jingyao’s wrist.

“Tsk...” Cai Jingyao sucked in a breath of cold air, the corners of her lips turning up. “You’re so angry that you want to beat someone up?”

“Are you... telling the truth?” Lu Jinbei sounded choked up.

“Do I look like I’m lying to you? Well, speaking of lying... I did lie to you previously. It’s funny how you believed me when I lied to you but won’t believe me when I tell the truth! How can a man like Lu Jinnan have a younger brother like you! Tsk tsk tsk... are you guys really born from the same parents?”

Just then, Lu Jinbei flung Cai Jingyao’s hand away...

Cai Jingyao let out a cry of surprise and fell to the ground. She looked up at Lu Jinbei with a smile on her face. “As expected of a child who hasn’t grown up! You’re only suitable to play around with! You are yet to understand the world of adults!”

Cai Jingyao’s words shattered Lu Jinbei’s heart. He gritted his teeth and gazed deeply at Cai Jingyao before turning to leave.

Cai Jingyao stood up slowly, holding her bag as she sneered and went upstairs.

It was good that she had been bruised. At least, she didn’t have to worry about Lu Jinbei coming out from nowhere to disturb her again.

When Lu Jinnan and Bai Xiaonian heard that Lu Jinbei was listless at home, they knew that Cai Jingyao must have said something to Lu Jinbei.

“Do you want to go back to your father’s place and comfort Lu Jinbei?” Bai Xiaonian asked as she looked at Lu Jinnan, who remained calm.

Bai Xiaonian didn’t really mean those words, but since she was Lu Jinbei’s sister-in-law... she had to say something.

“It’s best if he can deal with this blow himself!” Lu Jinnan said.

Bai Xiaonian smiled and nodded. “Then let’s visit Xiao Nuan at noon! Fu Huai’an should be around too. You won’t feel lonely while I chat with Xiao Nuan! Let’s bring lunch over and eat together...”

“Sure!” Lu Jinnan, who was in the kitchen preparing vegetables for Bai Xiaonian, responded.

What surprised Bai Xiaonian was that when she and Lu Jinnan arrived, they saw Cai Jingyao and the assistant director alighting from the black Land Rover in the car park’s shade. Cai Jingyao adjusted her hair and clothes with a flushed face.

The assistant director followed closely behind and got out of the car with a satisfied look on his face. He closed the car door and hugged Cai Jingyao’s shoulder as he planted a kiss on her face.

Bai Xiaonian’s brows twitched. She didn’t care about Cai Jingyao feeling awkward upon seeing her and Lu Jinnan, so she pushed open the car door and got out...

Hearing the sound of a car door closing, Cai Jingyao got a shock. She subconsciously hid in the assistant director’s arms and turned to glance over at the source of the sound. When she saw Bai Xiaonian and Lu Jinnan, she was so shocked that her body stiffened.

Bai Xiaonian didn’t even look at Cai Jingyao. She stood in front of the car, blocking the sunlight with her hand as she urged Lu Jinnan to hurry. “Hurry up, Nuan Nuan should be hungry by now!”

“Coming, coming!” Lu Jinnan took out the food bag from the trunk and walked towards Bai Xiaonian. Holding Bai Xiaonian’s hand, he smiled and went to look for Lin Nuan and Fu Huai’an.

Cai Jingyao suddenly felt a chill run down her spine. How would she get close to Fu Huai’an after Lu Jinnan saw her hooking up with the assistant director?

She had always heard that Fu Huai’an had always protected Lin Nuan very well, but Cai Jingyao felt that just like there were no cats in this world that didn’t steal fish, no man was to be trusted.

However, given how fastidious a man like Fu Huai’an was, he probably wouldn’t touch dirty things...

The assistant director paused in surprise and let go of Cai Jingyao’s shoulder. “That guy is Mr. Lu’s younger brother? Biological younger brother?”

“Yes...” Cai Jingyao deliberately nodded and smiled.

The assistant director felt a little guilty. It wouldn’t be beneficial for him to snatch Lu Jinnan’s younger brother’s woman...
