Madness: Part 2 – Chapter 81
Madness: A Dark Revenge Romance
His body goes limp against mine just as the door opens. I jump off the bed and spin around to see two tall figures enter the room. I canât make out who they are because Iâve been in a blacked-out room, and the light from the hallway behind them is blinding.
I reach into the back of my jeans, pulling the gun out that Bill put there after he dragged me out of his car. I point it at them, stepping in front of the end of the bed that my husband lies on, blocking him.
âWait!â One throws up their hands. âCharlotte, itâs Kash and Saint.â
I lower the gun and sniff. âSomethingâs wrong with him,â I rush out, stepping to the side. âHe was talking to me, but I couldnât get him to wake up.â I canât explain it, but he wasnât really here. âThen he went limp.â
They both run past me and over to Haidyn. âIs there a goddamn light in here?â Saint snaps.
I turn the flashlight back on my phone and shine it on the wall, searching for some kind of switch, but see nothing. I go out into the hall and search the wall. I see a few switches and flip them on and then rush back to see if theyâve worked.
It did. The room has a single bulb hanging from the ceiling, and both of his brothers are leaning over the bed, speaking into his face and shaking his shoulders. Nothing.
âLetâs get him the fuck out of here,â Kashton barks to Saint.
I wrap my arms around myself. âWhere is everyone?â
âTyson and his boys are searching for your mother. Thereâs another guyâ¦â
âIâm right here.â My hair is grabbed, and my neck yanked back to stare up at the ceiling.
âLet her go,â Kashton demands. âAnd I wonât blow your fucking head off.â
Wesley laughs. âDo you really think Iâll let you drag me to Carnage? That Iâd ever go back to that god-awful place?â
âWhat the fuck are you talking about?â Saint barks.
He doesnât answer and the room falls silent, and I try to wiggle free of his hold. Iâm so tired, and my head pounds. I just want to crawl back into bed with my husband. He needs me. Weâre wasting time.
âWesleyâ¦â
âMy name isnât Wesley,ââ he shouts, shaking me.
I feel the heavy gun in my right hand, and I point it down at the ground, not taking a second to think about it. I pull the trigger, momentarily going deaf as it echoes in the tight concrete box. Wesley shoves me forward, and I turn around to see him step out of the room. His mouth is open, and heâs screaming, but the only thing I hear is the sound of my ears ringing from the first shot.
Lifting the gun, I shoot again, and he falls to his knees as blood covers his jeans.
The gun is ripped from my hands, and Iâm pushed to the concrete floor onto my back. I look up to see Kashton straddling me. His hands grip my wrists, holding them down as he looks over to the right. His mouth is moving, but I canât understand what heâs saying.
That ringing is still there. I donât even try to fight him.
He lets go of me, gets up, and yanks me to my feet. Placing his hands on either side of my face, he searches my eyes as his lips move but still nothing. Picking me up, he carries me out of the room, and my head hangs off his arm as I see Ryat and Sin rush into the room and help Saint pull an unconscious Haidyn out of bed.
Iâm carried onto the plane and set on the couch. I havenât spoken to anyone. My ears finally quit ringing, but my face is still pounding.
âFuck,â Kashton hisses. Pushing my head from side to side, he examines my face. âI think you broke her fucking nose,â he growls.
âI had to do something,â Bill growls, walking on next.
âHaidyn is going to kill you.â Kashton goes on.
âHe has to live first,â Bill snaps. âNow get over here and help us.â
Kashton leaves me to walk back over to the open door. Next, I see Sin, Ryat, and Tyson helping Saint carry Haidyn onto the plane. Heâs still unconscious. I sat next to him in the car holding his cold hand. I would pray, but there is no God. Not one who listens to a murderer.
I jump to my feet and rush over to them.
âStay back, love.â Kashton picks me up and carries me back over to the couch where he sets me down. âLet them work.â
Gavin and Devin step onto the plane, and the door instantly shuts as the engines roar to life.
âWhere are your guys?â Sin asks Tyson.
âTheyâre on the ground. They got Hudson and Isabella. Theyâre going to meet us back at Carnage. We didnât want them on the plane with us, so theyâre driving.â
They lay Haidyn on the floor, and Gavin and Devin instantly dropped to their knees next to him.
âWhyâ¦isnât he awake?â My voice cracks because my throat is so sore from sobbing. I feel sick to my stomach again, but Iâve managed to keep it down.
No one answers me. Instead, they speak as if Iâm not right here.
âHis pulse is weak,â Gavin informs Devin.
His skin is so pale.
âHeâs fucking dying. Do something,â Saint orders.
I begin to crawl over to him, but Iâm picked up off the floor. âNo!â I cry as Kashton carries me to the back of the plane. I kick and scream, but it doesnât do any good as he takes me into the back bedroom. He tosses me onto the bed and straddles my hips, pinning my arms down by my head.
I arch my back and scream, âHAIDYN?â hoping he can hear me. That he can wake up for me.
âHurry up,â Kashton snaps, looking over his shoulder.
âIâm sorry, Charlotte. But this is for your own good,â Adam states as he fills a syringe with something from a clear vial.
I kick my feet and buck my hips, but Kashton has no trouble holding me down. Adam grabs my face and pushes it to the side before I feel a prick in my neck. My body instantly betrays me, and I go limp.
âThatâs it, love,â Kashton says softly.
I blink, my eyes heavy as I stare up at him. He lets go of my wrists, and I try to move my arms but canât. He pushes my hair from my face and gives me a soft smile. âItâs going to be okay.â Then he looks at Adam who still stands by the bed. âWhat did you give her?â
âIt was a very small dose of sedative. Itâs not going to knock her out completely. Just makes her lethargic.â
âHai-dyn.â I try to say my husbandâs name but even I canât understand it. How can they do this to me? If heâs dying, I want to be in his arms. I want him to hold me. I want them to kill me. I canât live without him.
The past week has been hell. I refuse to go on without him.
