Madness: Part 2 – Chapter 90
Madness: A Dark Revenge Romance
I sit at my desk while Kashton sits across from me at his and Saint stands in the middle of the room talking to Adam when the door to our office opens. Sin enters like he owns the place.
âHey, Sinny.â Kashton smiles up at him, and Sin snorts at his nickname. âHave you decided to come home?â
âIâm here on Lords orders,â Sin states, and the air in the room instantly changes from light to heavy.
I stand, and so does Kashton.
âWhat kind of orders?â Saint questions.
âI was given an assignment last night to deliver a Lord to Carnage,â he answers, his eyes on Saintâs. âI have an hour left.â
âWho?â Kashton demands, knowing this isnât going to end well.
Sin looks from Saint to Adam, and I stiffen when he speaks. âYou.â
âWhat the fuck, Easton?â Kashton barks, coming out from behind his desk. Adam places his hand out on Kashâs chest, stopping him from taking Sin to the floor.
âThis is my fault,â I growl. Adam was in hiding, and I brought him out when the Spade brothers called him to help save me. âIâll speak to the Lords.â
Sin raises his shirt and removes his holstered gun from his belt. He sets it on Kashtonâs desk. âIâm willing to tell them you refused to go, and I put a bullet in your head instead.â
Adam ignores Sinâs proposition to kill him. This isnât a game. If Sin has an assignment, it has to be completed. Meaning we either take our brother in as a prisoner or we watch Sin kill him right here, right now.
Adam looks at me. âYou didnât make me kill our fathers.â
âNo, but I should haveâ¦â
âI did what needed to be done in order to protect my sister,â Adam snaps before looking at Sin. âAnd Iâll do it again.â Then he turns to face Saint. âIâm sorry after all I did, I still failed her. And you.â
Saint swallows nervously, and I hope this isnât his goodbye for good. Heâs told me heâll die before he turns himself over to the Lords in any way. He left that life behind years ago, and heâll never go back.
âWait. Wait.â Kashton raises his hands. âLetâs think about this for a second. Weâve got an hour.â
âThatâs not enough time.â Saint growls. âYou should have come sooner,â he barks at Sin.
âItâs fine,â Adam assures him. âIâll go downstairs.â
âWeâre not putting you in a cell.â I shake my head.
âWe will if itâll buy us time,â Kash argues.
I run a hand through my hair and sigh.
âIâll go downstairs for now, and weâll figure it out. Sinâ¦â He picks up the gun and hands it back to Sin and nods to the door. He and Sin exit the office.
âThis is bullshit!â Saint slams his hands on the desk when the door closes, giving us a few seconds to discuss what the fuck weâre going to do with our brother.
âI say we keep him locked up. I mean, whatever makes the Lords happy.â Kashton throws his hands out to his side. âOtherwise, heâll always be on the run.â
Saint sighs and nods. âI agree. Ashtynâ¦wants him around,â he says tightly, letting us know that heâs still very angry with Adam but wants Ashtyn to have some sort of relationship with her brother.
âWeâll figure something out,â I assure them.
We make our way to the elevator, and right before the door closes, we hear a loud noise. âWhat the fuck was that?â Kash demands.
âSounded like a fucking gun,â Saint growls, already hitting the button on the elevator to open the door before it can even come to a stop.
We all three rush out once it reaches the basement to see Sin on his knees, blood running from his busted nose, and Adam on the floor lying next to him.
Sin looks up at us, raising his empty hands as he speaks. âHe took my gun.â
