Pepsi pouted. “Yes!”

Si Bai turned pale and began to cough violently.

Mrs. Si was worried, but Si Bai said, “Can you give us a moment, please?”

The grownups exchanged looks, then left the room as requested, leaving the two kids to themselves.

“I’m sorry,” Si Bai apologized. “It was my fault that day.”

“Of course it was!” Pepsi stood her ground. “You lied to me!”

Si Bai blushed. He had indeed tricked Pepsi and kissed her...

Pepsi sounded aggrieved. “You promised! You said you’d come after I ate all the candy! I ate them all that night! My tummy ached for two days! But you didn’t come...”

Si Bai apologized involuntarily. “I’m sorry. It was all my fault.”

“You finished all of it in one night?” Si Bai asked in disbelief.

Pepsi nodded. “That’s right. I worked hard!”

Si Bai didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. The little glutton!

“What I said was: eat one candy a day and I’ll be there before you finish the jar!”

“Huh?” Pepsi nibbled her fingers and asked dumbly, “Did you?”

“Yes, I did.”

“So... you’re not a liar?”

“I’d never lie to you.”

Pepsi stood there open-mouthed for a long moment before asking, “Was it my mistake?”

“Hmph.” Si Bai the tsundere looked away. “And I’m ill because of you.”

“I – I’m sorry...” stammered Pepsi. “Little Bai, don’t be mad at me...”

Sob... it turned out to be her fault.

She had mistaken Little Bai for a liar and Uncle Qi had scolded Si Bai for it...

Si Bai said in a matter-of-fact tone, “I’ve told you a million times. Don’t call me Little Bai! Call me honey!”

The little boy could be very bossy at times.

The simple-minded Pepsi was no match for his scheming and she called him in her baby voice, “Honey.”

“Good girl.” Si Bai smiled in satisfaction. “Pepsi, you’re such a dummy!”

Leaning forward on the bed, Pepsi sighed. “I guess I am...”

“Don’t worry! I’m smarter and I can protect you! I’ll buy you milk powder!” The young Si Bai had a lot of ambition.

“I want to have many, many bottles!” The glutton drooled at the thought. “I’ll drink it! Cola can watch!”

That amused Si Bai. “No problem! We’ll drink together and he can only watch!”

“Yes!”

“Ssss —” Si Bai suddenly grunted and Pepsi asked nervously, “What’s wrong?”

Si Bai said in a low voice, “It’s ok. It’s just a little headache.”

Even grownups would be incapacitated by a high fever, let alone a kid his age.

Pepsi took off her shoes and climbed up on all fours. With much tugging and pulling from Si Bai, the chubby little girl was finally on the bed.

“Kiss me and it’ll go away.” Si Bai stuck out his lips.

Pepsi kissed him without hesitation!

Si Bai was only teasing her. He hadn’t expected her to do it...

His cheeks heated up instantly.

Was he... getting a fever again?
