Chapter 116
The Millionaire And His Billionaire Ex-Wife
Chapter 116
Grace was originally furious, but his reaction almost made her burst out laughing.
Seeing the arrogant expression on his face, as if saying, âI may have kneeled, but Iâm definitely not weak,â she coldly snorted and reprimanded, âWhat are you standing there for? Apply the medicine!â
Edgar quickly opened the medicine box and earnestly applied medicine to the wound in her palm. The cut wasnât deep, but it almost spanned the entire palm.
As a result, her originally fair and delicate hand looked somewhat hideous because of the long wound.
Edgar suddenly felt a pang in his heart, and his actions in applying medicine became even more gentle and cautious.
Grace coldly looked at the man obediently kneeling by her feet and asked, âKnowing well that you canât kill me, why did you still act foolishly?â
Edgar lowered his head, tightly pursing his lips without saying a word.
âWas it to vent for Mia, or did you actually believe Gregâs words and think that I killed the old
master?â
Edgar still remained silent, focusing on applying the medicine to her.
Grace observed him and took the rare opportunity to reason things out. âI wonât kill the old master. He had already contracted cancer before he died. I didnât need to waste my efforts on killing an old man who was already on the verge of death. You are well aware of this. So, it was for Mia, right?â
The answer to her question was the manâs silence.
-Using her uninjured left hand, she h ooked the manâs chin, forcing him to lift his head and look into
her eyes.
âYou should understand my personality. Now that my hand is injured, Mia might be delighted, but you will have to pay the price. Is it worth it for you to do this?â
The two words âpay the priceâ made Edgarâs eyes slightly red. âItâs not worth it, so I regret it.â
Grace lowered her head and met his gaze, keenly noticing the redness in his eyes. His expression.
seemed genuinely remorseful.
Was it because he felt guilty seeing her injured hand?
Or was he putting on an act for her?
She narrowed her starry eyes and unintentionally noticed the swollen right side of his cheek.
âNot bad; now the slaps on both sides of your face are symmetrical.*
She paused for a moment and continued, âDo you remember not long ago, when you blocked me in the womenâs restroom? I said that one day, I would make you kneel at my feet and pay the price. I didnât expect that day to come so soon.â
As Grace spoke in a mocking tone, Edgar felt uncomfortable and forcefully pulled his hand away from hers, lowering his head to continue applying the medicine.
He skillfully and methodically applied the medicine without causing her any pain, and the bandaging was done exceptionally well.
Observing his proficient technique, Grace asked tentatively, âYou, the distinguished young master of the Fallen family, must have been pampered since childhood. Yvonne would definitely be

heartbroken even if you had a minor scrape. How did you become so skilled at applying medicine and bandaging?â
Edgar paused for a moment; his expression was neutral as he explained, âBecause I was a bit mischievous when I was young. I often got injured, so I learned how to do it.â
Grace knew he was just making excuses and hiding something, but she couldnât be bothered to ask further.
The room fell into silence for a while. An eerie and quiet atmosphere enveloped them.
After finishing the treatment, Edgar tactfully remained seated.
Grace glanced coldly at him and then looked at the bloodstains on the bed. âWash the entire set of bedding by hand tonight, in the backyard. Donât go to sleep until itâs done.â
âOkay.â
Edgar hardly hesitated. He kept his eyes lowered, looking obedient, which was quite out of character.
But whenever Grace thought about how he had snuck into her room with a knife tonight, she felt a surge of anger.
This man was too good at hiding! Every time he pretended to be obedient, it always felt like he was concealing something wicked.
Grace was annoyed. She was determined to slowly erode away all his dignity and arrogance!
âIt seems like sleep is out of the question!â
She turned and walked towards the door as she spoke.
Edgar swiftly grabbed her wrist. âWhere are you going?â
Her tone was indifferent. âIâll just stay with Mr. Smith for a few nights.â
âNo, you canât go!â The words almost slipped out of his mouth without thinking.
Receiving Graceâs angry gaze, he softened his tone. âWhat I mean is, itâs late, and itâs inconvenient for you to bother him. Besides, itâs not appropriate for the two of you to be alone.â
He disliked Patric, and Patric disliked him as well.
Perhaps it was due to a manâs possessiveness. He knew he didnât have the right to stop her now, but he just couldnât accept Grace going to see Patric.
âLet go.â
Graceâs expression was resolute. She took another step forward, and Edgar followed suit, kneeling as he tightened his grip on her wrist.
âDonât go! I
sorry, I shouldnât have hurt you. I wonât do it again. Please donât go to Patric.â
Grace looked down at him, her gaze unusual. After knowing him for so many years, it was the first time she heard him apologize.
When he knew that Grace had been wrongly accused by Nancy, he didnât apologize.
When he knew that he owed her three years, he didnât apologize either.
Even when he had just injured her with a knife, he only expressed regret and didnât apologize. And now he suddenly remembered to apologize. Huh!
âYour apology is too late; I wonât accept it. Get lost!â
She yelled angrily and shook off his hand.
Edgarâs physical condition was not the same as before, and he was easily knocked over by her.

Grace didnât spare him another glance. She turned and left the villa without looking back.
Edgar didnât chase after her. He sat on the ground in silence, not knowing what he was thinking. It wasnât until the sound of the carâs engine started that he stood up and walked to the window.
A few bodyguards got into the car after Grace, and with the roar of the engine, two cars sped off into the moonlit night. With Graceâs departure, the entire villa fell into an eerie silence.
Edgar quickly snapped out of his slightly jealous state and surveyed Graceâs room.
She had left, taking all the bodyguards with her. Could there be any clues in her room that could verify her true identity? Since he didnât know if she would come back, now was the best time to search!
Edgar frowned and observed outside for a while through the window, his gaze filled with complexity.
At this moment, at the intersection 200 meters before the bay villa, the two cars turned off their engines, and Grace sat quietly in the car, waiting.
The surroundings were incredibly quiet-so quiet that she could hear her own heartbeat. Expressionless, she stared straight ahead, lost in her thoughts, contemplating something.
After about half an hour passed, she finally called the bodyguard, who was hiding and observing in
the villa.
âIâve left. Did he do anything to my room?â
The bodyguard answered. âHe changed the bedsheets and duvet cover for you. He took the dirty ones to the backyard to wash, but theyâre not washed yet. The duvet cover got soaked, and he seemed to have twisted it quite hard.â
âOther than changing the duvet cover, did he touch anything else in the room?â
The bodyguard thought for a moment. âNo, just when you were leaving, he stood by the window and watched for a while.â
Grace pursed her lips, lost in thought. She had already left, and it was such a perfect opportunity. Yet he didnât do anything?
When he went to get the medicine kit earlier, she clearly heard birds chirping. She couldnât figure out what he was up to, but his unusual behavior at times really made it hard not to suspect something.
Was it really just to repay the debt that he quickly signed the agreement?
