Chapter IV

Zaden POV

I watched Nova intensely as her chest fell up and down. She was laying across the loveseat that I was sharing with her. Her eyes were closed, and she was knocked out. I held my arm around her laying my head in her shoulder blade. I felt her groan and curl up more. I shifted myself with my face in her neck breathing in her sweet coconut smell. God, I loved that smell. It was so familiar, and it just reminded me of home.

Everyone had fallen asleep about an hour ago. I felt her small hand trace down my arm and rest on top of my hand. Everything in my body tensed and then relaxed again. Her touch sent chills through me. Unnerving chills that I couldn't control. I never felt like this before, but I didn't want it to stop. I slowly let my other hand travel across her skin that was exposed due to the fact that her hoodie has risen up. Oh god I'm such an idiot I thought to myself. I should stop, but I have no self-control and let my fingers draw circles into her soft smooth skin. It was just so soft and warm. I couldn't help but touch her. But I still respected her space, not daring to travel anyway but her exposed skin.

"What are you doing?" I heard her soft voice ask me. Her soft voice sent shivers down my spine. I slowly looked down at her. Her eyes were still closed.

"Nothing" I said as I continued rubbing her skin. She turned over; her face was inches away from mine. Her gray eyes bore into my green ones. You can still tell she's tired from the sleepiness in her eyes. I watched as her eyes traveled, taking in my face and then down my body. As if something burned her, she snapped out of my arms sitting on the loveseats handle.

"Why are you touching me?" She snapped and I gave her a smirk leaning back against the chair.

"I wasn't, princess" I said, and she glared at me. Even as children we always messed with each other. It was the funniest game to play.

"You were!" she said a bit louder.

"Why? Do you want me to touch you?" I asked leaning closer to her. Her face went deep red as her eyes widen.

"NO!" she snapped trying to hide her face from me.

"I think you're lying" I said in a singing voice as I got closer. She leaned farther away from me, but I kept leaning closer. She leaned too far and out of nowhere fell to the ground with a loud thud. I peeked over and watched her as she laid on the ground.

"Having fun down there?" I asked her and she glared at me. Her glare was as weak as a threat from a kitten.

"Why did you do that?" she yelled as she got up. I could see anger in her eyes.

"I didn't do anything" I said as I leaned closer to her. In my case, she was the one to lean away from me, causing herself to fall.

"Yes, you did!" She said standing up grabbing a blanket and wrapping it around herself.

"Where are you going?" I asked her as I got up and followed her to wherever she was going. I towered over her small frame as I followed closely behind her.

"Nowhere" she said over her shoulder as she stuck her tongue out at me.

"I dare you to try and do that again" I challenged her. She stuck out her tongue yet again. I rolled my eyes as I pulled it lightly making her let out a high-pitched yelp.

"Oh gross! You probably don't even wash your hands." She yelled pushing me away from her. I don't know how she mustered up so much strength, but she did. I slightly lost balance from the force she pushed me with.

"I can't believe you did that. You're so gross!" She yelled again being over dramatic like she always was.

"I told you not to and you did so" I said laughing as she chugged some water down.

"So, what do we do know?" I asked her, leaning over the table looking at her. Her hair was a mess, she didn't have any makeup on, you can see some drool dried up on the side of her mouth. But yet she still managed to look so beautiful. She didn't even have to try to look perfect.

"I don't know about you but I'm going to sleep." She said turning around and started walking down the hall. I got up and followed after her. I was bored, what else am I supposed to do.

"Why are you following me?" She asked not even turning around to face me.

"Why not?" I asked as I tailed behind her. She was less than a foot away. I could smell her sweet vanilla and coconut shampoo.

"You're so annoying" she said turning around to look at me. The look that made me smile in triumphed.

"And you aren't?" I asked her and her eyes grew wide. She huffed turning away and walking to some room which was probably Nicole's room. I was about to walk in, but she slammed the door in my face. Like a simple piece of wood would keep me away from her.

"What I'm not invited to the sleep over?" I asked her as I chuckled.

"No morons allowed" She said making me laugh even more. I turned the knob and walked in to see Nova already snuggled up in the bed.

"Get out" she mumbled throwing a pillow at me which I easily dodge. Either way a pillow wouldn't do any damage. She should have known from the first time she tried to defend herself with a pillow.

"Rather not" I told her plopping down on the bed next to her.

"Why are you here?" she groaned turning over to face me. She was so close; I could just reach over and kiss her. No Zaden stop thinking about such stupid thoughts.

"I've missed my little dimples; it's been three years you know." I said smiling, but I guess the mention of her dimples made her upset.

"To miss someone, you actually have to like that person" she said in a muffled voice.

"I thought we were best of friends" I said smirking at her. Just the sight of her made me smile. She pulled the blanket tighter around her as she seemed to bundle up in a small ball.

"Really?" she asked sarcastically.

"Okay whatever I was maybe a little mean to you but hey it was all in good fun. I was just a dumb little kid." I said as I kept smirking down at her.

"All in good fun for you" she mumbled as she pulled the covers closer to her.

"Hey, come on, you wouldn't have paid attention to me if I wasn't teasing you." I told her as I tugged on the covers trying to get her attention. It was like I was always wanting her attention.

"Whatever." she said before turning away from me. I watched as she rolled up in the blankets and cuddled into the pillow. I turned over and saw an iPhone. I grabbed it to see it was Novas. I tried a couple different combinations, but none worked. I leaned over and poked her soft cheek trying to get her attention.

"What." she asked me with a groan.

"What's your password?" I asked as I pushed the phone into her face. The bright light making her squirm away.

"Why in the world would I tell you?" She asked me to cringe away from the screen brightness that I did not move away from her.

"Because " I stated not really having a reason other than that I was bored out of my mind.

"No"

"Please"

"No"

"I won't leave you alone till you tell me." I said jumping on top of her pinning her down to the bed. She was shocked at first, but then she was a little mad. I knew she was angry because her eyebrows dipped, and she bite the inside of her lip. She would always do that when she was angry or annoyed with me or anyone.

"Get off mefatty" She said as she struggled under me.

"Tell me" I whinnied as I held her tighter under me. I knew she was going to give in, she was too tried to keep fighting against me.

"1478" she said trying to push me off, but how could she. She was tiny compared to me, which only made me want to tease her that much more.

"Thanks dimples" I said rolling off her unlocking her phone. I felt her turn, I look over to see her watching me. Her gray eyes lost, as sleep was threatening to take over.

I ended up playing some game and when I looked back over to see she was asleep. I placed her phone down and laid back down. I wanted to wrap my arms around her and pull her closer to me. But I knew I shouldn't, I really shouldn't. But I couldn't help myself. I wrapped my arm around her nuzzling my face into her neck. I took her and smiled as I held her closer. I felt her snuggle closer to me making me smile a little bit more than I already was.
