Chapter 7 - I dare you
Knocked out of course (Girlxgirl)
Sam's POV
As we got to a small diner Iris led the way into a booth with me following close behind, Gabriella strolled along in the back. Weirdly she was quiet the whole way here.
The instructor sat down on one side causing both me and the cranky Latina to share a look. Neither of us moved. The brunette looked at us both dumbfounded as we simply stood there. "Are you girls okay? Is something wrong?" She studied us both looking for any signs that could tell her what was going on.
As the silence stretched longer and the weight of the instructors eyes grew heavier, we both snapped out of our stupor. Gabriella was the first to move unceremoniously plopping down across from the beautiful olive skinned woman.
"Should I sit next to her so we're closer? Or should I sit in front of her?" After a second or so of hesitation the long haired girl raised an eyebrow at me incredulous.
"Just sit down!" An eye roll accompanied her words.
I shuffled in place before deciding to throw caution to the wind. Sitting down next to the goddess I could immediately feel her warmth engulfing me as a delicate vanilla and heavy rain smell embraced me. "Why does this feel so much like home?"
After a few minutes a waitress approached our booth. Her long black hair was in a ponytail that fell elegantly along to the middle of her back. She wore a sweet smile that made her hazel eyes shine, cute dimples adorned her cheeks bringing a softness to her beauty that made her seem younger.
As she looked up her eyes light up with recognition as they were raised to meet our owns.
"Hey Iris! Sam! Long time no see! You used to come here all the time!" Her eyes rested on my face before turning towards the short haired beauty next to me. "I didn't know you two are friends!" Her comment makes me blush as I instinctively look out the window at the park. The black haired girl then looks toward the other side of the table.
"Hey lil sis! Don't forget to message mom to let her know at what time you're getting back home!"
An annoyed look crossed the shorter girl's face. "I'm not a kid anymore!" Following her words the older of the two was given an eye roll so exaggerated that Gabriella's head rolled along with it. In return she gets a warning look which finally breaks through to her. A sigh leaves the girl as she types away on her phone. "Fine here see!" Turning her screen towards the waitress as if it was a peace offering. "Happy now?" Instead of mirroring any of the signs directed at her the older sister simply smiles in response. "Thank you!"
A look passed between me and Iris as we took in the scene in front of us. Before long our attention was back on the hazel eyed girl.
"Sorry about that! So what are you girls having?"
As always the voice of the fit olive skinned girl sends my heart into a frenzy, causing it to beat faster than I thought humanly possible. "Hey Sofia! I'll have my usual thanks!" A friendly smile is shared between the two before the light eyes focus on me. "What about you sunshine?" I chuckle at the nickname she caught from my friends. "I'll have the same as her." As I say this I point towards the gorgeous girl sitting to my right. "Alright!"
Her attention dances towards the opposite side of the booth. "How about you Gabi? Your favourite?" Instead of words her only answer is an uninterested shrug. "I'll be right back with your order!" We're offered a departing smile as the peppy server walks away.
"I would have never guessed that she has a sister, she gives off really strong only child vibes!"
The raspy voice so close to me pulls me out of my thoughts. "I didn't know you came here!" Her smile was infectious.
"I used to come here a lot with my friends!" My face turns red at the words I left unspoken. "I'm in way over my head aren't I?" A shiver runs down my spine.
"I'm surprised we never met before, I ate here a bit too much honestly!" Her laughter makes my heart melt into my stomach. "What are you doing to me?" I'm at a bit of a loss for words as I struggle not to turn into a puddle at her feet.
"Maybe you have!" The short latina piped up. "She seems unusually quiet today!"
The brunette shrugs in response. We make small talk as we wait for the food to arrive. The meal itself is nice but uneventful. "I may or may not have been a bit too distracted by Iris to notice anything else."
When we're done we say our goodbyes to Sofia and thank her for the food. We get rewarded with a warm and friendly send off.
"Cinema?" I ask looking between the two girls.
"I have a home cinema I built when I was younger!" Gabriella says absentmindedly. "She seems very subdued. It seems and feels weird ... Makes me worry if there's something going on and if she's okay."
"Would it be okay if we go to yours? Won't your mother be resting?" There is a clear note of worry in the dark eyed girl's voice.
The short girl shakes her head sadly before letting out in a barely audible voice. "No she's at the hospital."
Without a word the fit olive skinned girl opens her arms allowing Gabriella to immediately fall into them. I hesitate before approaching them. Iris offers me a sad smile as I slowly step closer, softly putting a hand on the girl's back.
"I am so sorry about your mother! I can only hope she will be healthy again soon. She's a strong woman she'll be fighting this until it's beaten!" Wrapped by strong arms the long haired Latina looks so small, so far from her usual self that it feels like a long lost memory.
A few minutes pass before the caramel eyed girl regains her strength and slowly extricates herself from the safeness of Iris' arms. Even tho her eyes look red the short girl still looks better than back at the restaurant.
"Thank you!" My crush smiles down at the other girl. Surprisingly, her eyes seek mine as she repeats those same words to me. "Thank you!" For a second I only stare at her in shock.
Taking the silence as an opportunity to speak the gorgeous instructor puts a hand on Gabbi's shoulder and one on my arm. "We're here for you whatever you need. You don't have to do this alone." The smaller girl straightens her shoulders and wipes what remains of tears from her cheeks as she gifts us the first genuine smile, I have ever seen from her.
"That means a lot! Thanks again!"
"It's the first time I've seen any kind of vulnerability from this girl. I didn't realise just strong she has had to be this whole time."
"I'm ready to go!" The Latina announces before starting to walk away. We easily catch up to her. "Its funny how snarky she is when she's this tiny!" I shake my head chuckling slightly catching the attention of the people alongside me. They both give me questioning looks causing my face to heat up.
"Sorry I was just thinking of something!" I look away bashfully even tho I can still feel someone's gaze on me.
Only a couple of minutes of walking takes us to our destination. The long haired girl opens one arm and gestures towards the house. "Welcome to my humble domain!" Her bow adds a second layer to her sarcasm. The house looks old but well taken care of. There's a lot of different flowers planted on the front yard as well as creating a path towards the back of the house. The flowers are blooming beautifully adding a welcoming feeling to it. The fit goddess walks inside casually. Gabriella notices my hesitation.
"C'mon I don't bite." There was no harshness to her words. Before I could stop it a half hearted smile appears on my face as I enter the house.
I follow the tempting raspy voice through the rooms almost as if entranced by it. As I arrive at it's source I notice that my crush is talking to something that looked like an aquarium. I look over her shoulder to see a huge yellow and white snake. My heart almost jumps out of my chest as I take a step back.
"Not a fan huh?" I look behind me and find the sassy Latina standing there with her arms crossed. I can only shake my head in response not trusting my voice not to betray my fear. Completely opposing me the excitement radiating off of the olive skinned brunette is almost palpable. "Is he used to being handled?" A softeness falls over the long haired girl's face. "Yeah! You want to?" A thrilled smile grows on the stunning instructor's face.
"She looks so adorable when she's excited, even if it's about something disgusting." The thought makes me shudder.
The shorter brunette takes the lid off so that the beautiful dark eyed girl can put her hand in slowly allowing the snake to make their way up her arm. It's impossible to miss the smile on her face and the light in her eyes. "Fuck I wouldn't mind being around snakes if she'll look that happy! I mean i don't have to touch them right? That smile is definitely worth it. I wish I could make her that happy!"
I just watch as the snake rests around her arm comfortably all the while Iris slowly runs her hand along his scales. I notice Gabriella doing the same. "Damn we really have it bad huh?"
After a while the goddess notices us, as she does so her face turns slightly red. "Ah sorry I got distracted!" She looks down at the snake again then back at us looking bashful. "Fuck me! If that isn't the most beautiful thing I've seen all day idk what is! Okay maybe I do ... But does it count if it's still her?" I pull myself away from my thoughts clearing my throat in the process.
"Right! What movie should we watch?" I get a shrug from my crush.
"I have a collection!" For once the long haired latina sounds delighted about something other than Iris. This gets a smile out of the fit short haired woman. "What's everyone's favourite movie?"
"That's a difficult question! There's so many genres to choose from and there's times when you want to watch a specific kind of movie because of your mood so I guess it changes with how I feel. How can I choose just one?"I was taken by surprise to hear such a lenghty speech from the girl. "I've never seen the usually snarky girl talk this much before let alone being this passionate about it."
A few seconds of silence went by which I took as an opportunity to speak up. "My favourite movie is the heat. Lighthearted movies always make me feel better."
"Not a bad choice!" The latina comments in a matter of fact tone.
"Well I'm more into the horror genre even tho I do love animations. My favourite has to be Split." The strong olive skinned woman said.
"Uhm if I had to choose just one, I think it would be I can't think straight. I'm a sucker for happy endings!" As the short girl says this there's a bashfulness to her demeanor.
"So we all like different genres." The chuckle that follows makes my heart flutter. "The question still remains what movie should we watch?" Iris deep dark orbs travel between us. The weight of her attention makes me shuffle in place. "Get a hold of yourself Sam! Okay? Okay you got this! Just breathe!" I attempt a deep breath trying to shake my nervousness away.
"Humm ... LGBT maybe?" I can hear the doubt in Gabriella's voice and she hesitates before continuing. "Since we're all part of the community..." She catches herself and looks at me. "Right?" I blinked at the question. "Is she asking if I'm part of the community? I mean she does have a point in asking ... Tho I think it's pretty obvious I've been drooling over Iris this whole time! Wait is she trying to be respectful towards me? What is happening?"
I realise I haven't answered, instead just standing there stuck inside my own head. "Yes?" I mentally slap myself. "God could you sound any more uncertain?!"
"Okay cool!" I can see the light brown eyed girl relax with my answer, heaving a sigh of relief.
I feel eyes on me which prompts me to look up. As I do I find my crush examining my face like she's looking for some answer to an unasked question. I freeze as her eyes meet mine. "Let's go!" The long haired girl claps twice to get our attention. I force myself to tear my eyes away.
"Yeah let's go!" I say shortly. "Go ahead! Let me just put this little guy away." I sigh as we walk away from the instructor.
"You too huh?" Not waiting for an answer she leads me around the house. Neither of us feeling the need to say anything else, it felt almost as if we came to a silent agreement over it.
We get to a cozy room and I sit down as I take it in. There's a big sofa sided by two smaller ones. To one side there's a snack shelf along with a miniature fridge. Gabriella is near some floor to ceiling shelves filled with what I assume to be dvds. As she is grabbing some of them the fit brown eyed woman enters the room. She makes her way over to Gabriella.
"Which ones were we thinking of watching?" Is rasped out as the taller of the two looks over the other ones shoulder to get a peek at the selection.
"Depends if you want a happy ending! If that's the case our selection gets significantly smaller. Almost every movie or tv show that includes a same sex couple either kills one of them or breaks them up. Where are our happy endings? It's kinda fucked makes me feel like we're not deserving of it in their eyes!" A long heavy sigh is finally released by the ranting girl. Both me and Iris were nodding along to her words. "She does have a point in this day and age it's still so damn hard to get happy endings for our LGBT characters. It's very off putting. Don't we deserve better than that? Healthy representation is so important yet so scarce." I get snapped out of my internal rant when the ridiculously attractive voice calls my name.
"I'm sorry what?" I say completely baffled. Both girls laugh at my reaction. "Where were you just now?" I shrug at my crush's question trying to hide my blush. This gets them to laugh again making it impossible for me to stop myself from smiling.
"We were asking if you want to watch It's in the water? Gabi said it's one of the few with a happy ending that she has." The raspy voiced girl repeated for me. "Sure that's fine." I answered tiredly. "I really hope I won't fall asleep while watching it!"
Iris sat down next to me while the light eyed girl set things up for us. Against my best efforts a yawn escaped my mouth. "Are you tired? We can watch the movie some other time!"
I shook my head. "It's fine. Don't worry!" The snarky latina turned off the lights before unceremoniously plopping down on the other side of the beautiful brunette laying with her head on her lap. "I have to admit they seem really close. I wonder if they've know each other for long." When I finally managed to drag myself out of my own head the movie had already started.
The long haired girl seemed to be struggling to stay awake. Her eyes closing every few seconds, each time she did it took her longer to open them again. "That's probably going to be me in a few minutes." On the other hand the goddess was fully engrossed in the movie. I tried to pay attention but kept glancing at my crush next to me. My eyes were starting to betray me too. I was having a hard time staying awake, the fact that Gabriella was already asleep didn't help either. "She fell asleep so fast! I was hoping she would comment on the movie while watching it since she seemed so passionate about it before." I try to fight it for as long as I possibly can but end up losing the battle.
I get woken up by a soft hand pushing my hair away from my face and my name being called tenderly. "Sam it's time to wake up sleepyhead." A warm hand rests on my cheek and I instinctively lean into it. As I start to regain conscience I realise my head is against something soft but firm. I slowly open my eyes only to be met with a gorgeous face looking back at me. "There you are! I've been trying to wake you up for almost five minutes."
I blink as the world starts rushing back in, little by little I remember where I am as I become more aware of my surroundings. I notice what my head is resting against her shoulder as she pushes my hair behind my ear. Any and all thought that might have been starting to form becomes an incoherent mess. Instinct kicks in as I grab her wrist to avoid the warmth of her touch from leaving a cold trail on me, like an ice arrow being shot through my heart. Shock from my own actions is being mirrored back at me by the olive skinned girl. "There's no way I can explain this to her!!! Wth was I thinking? You weren't thinking Sam that's the whole problem! UGH!" Her beautiful features soften as she offers me her other hand. I gingerly let go while I do so I interwine our fingers and ready myself to speak up. "I'm sorry. I don't know why I did that!"
"My brain isn't awake enough for me to be killing myself over this but I'm sure I'll die of embarassment later!" The girl with eyes like the night gives me a smile. "No worries it probably had something to do with whatever you were dreaming about!" I nod as I try to will myself not to turn red. Holding in the words that I'm not ready to admit to my crush. "Gabi offered to get a taxi for you so you can get back safely." The short haired woman informed me.
"It's fine i can walk." The amazingly beautiful being in front of me shakes her head.
"You left your car at mine and if I had to guess I would say you don't live anywhere near here." I feel a little embarassed at her comment. "I really don't fit in with them huh? I see her point if you look at them and then at me you can tell we look like we come from different worlds. Even tho they' re both beautiful, you can tell they weren't raised with the same luxuries I have. Does that make me unfit to be in their world?"
I feel a tap on my forehead which startles me out of my spiral. "Where have you gone to again?" Shaking my head I dismiss her question.
"It's nothing I'm just tired!" The dark eyes pin me down, seeing through my lie but I'm not pressed on it.
"So you're taking the cab right?" I heave a sigh but nod. Gabriella who apparently has been observing us takes this as her cue.
"It's on it's way 5 minutes or so and it should be here!"
The self defense instructor gets up pulling me along with her. Stopping in front of the light brown eyed girl, she let's go of my hand before opening her arms for the latina whom doesn't hesitate to fall into her embrace. "If you need anything just let me know. Keep me updated alright?" Gabriella nods into her chest. She stays there for a few seconds before pulling away slightly to leave a kiss on the bronze eyed girl's cheek. As we're starting to walk away she offers me three words as a goodbye. "Take care princess!"
"I might have judged her too soon! She doesn't seem like a bad person even if she can be harsh at times." I get lost in my head and when I realise it the cab is pulling up in front of us. Iris puts one hand on each side of my head pulling it slightly down to leave a tender kiss on my forehead. The gesture makes me blush profusely pushing my brain into overload. "Take care beautiful!"
I freeze in place doubting my ears for a second. The driver beeps causing me to jump out of my skin. "Fuck! People have no chill!" I rushedly kiss her cheek and get in the back seat. He drives off immediately not even allowing me to wave goodbye.
Following a very awkward ride I get to my own car and make my way home listening to something in the orange on repeat, trying not to overthink today's events. When I finally make it back I carelessly take my shoes off and toss them to the side near my door. "I should have asked for her number!" I cursed at myself internally while making my way upstairs and into my room. When I reach it I throw myself on the bed, it only took a few seconds before I was completely out.
It was a couple of weeks before I laid eyes on the gorgeous woman again. I went to a local bar with my friends. They have done nothing but talk about if for the last couple of weeks. They have been very insistent that I should come along with them next time. Apparently it has great music and according to them on open mic nights, as it is the case of today, some really talented people come here to sing.
They were already waiting for me at one of those high tables where you can just stand or sit on weirdly tall chairs. They made sure to get here early since from what they have experienced, it gets very busy. I wanted to have dinner since my two besties have done nothing but drool about how good the food here is.
I approach the love birds as they're talking about whatever they talk about when I'm not around. They spot me and start waving at me even tho I had already been making my way towards them.
"Hello Sunshine!" Sit you're in for quite a night!" This line accompanied by their smirk makes me nervous. I looked at them suspiciously.
"What are you two up to?" I squint at them trying to look intimidating even tho we all knew I failed miserably.
"Nothing!" Their chorus made my suspicions grow. Their fake innocence wasn't sticking which prompted Lewis to reassure me. "I promise you'll have fun! Here you might want to keep those you might need them for later!" He handed me some napkins offering me a wink along with them. I lifted my chin at them still not believing them fully but choosing to let it go for now, while also doing my best to not overthink his teasing comment.
We ordered some food. In between us ordering and our food reaching us the place started to fill. "Looks like they were right! Seems like it's going to be a busy night! Why are there so many people here?"
By the time we were done eating the bar was full to the bream with people. "What time is it babe?" Lu asked Rob. "Where's Tamara? Is she late again?" The second question was directed at me. I shrugged but before I could open my mouth two hands fall heavily on our table making me have a small heart attack.
"THE QUEEN HAS ARRIVED!" Tamie yelled as she posed dramatically.
"Bitch you're late where have you been?" The annoyance was clear in the boy's voice.
"Looking this good takes time!" Laughing at herself she drops the act. "Sorry I got caught in traffic, somehow everyone seems to be going somewhere tonight. I'll probably have to leave in a couple of hours too!" The sassiest of the two guys raises his eyebrow.
"Does this have anything to do with the blond haired, green eyed lifeguard you won't shut up about?" My best friend's response is a mere shrug. Even in this light I can see she's flustered.
"Wait isn't that him?" I ask as I look at the crowd by the drinks section of the bar. T looks towards to where I'm not so discreetly pointing, jumping up as soon as she sees him.
"Sorry guys!" Not looking apologetical at all she skips over to him. When she reaches him they move to the side allowing me to see someone standing in the middle of the group. The short hair, accompanied by deep dark eyes and beautiful soft olive skin. My brain both melts and yells out her name. I tear my eyes away so I don't spontaneously combust but as I am met with my friends' faces they're both sporting devilish smiles
"Did you see something you like?" Lu teases. I don't answer too stuck on the girl by the bar counter. "How does she manage to look so good in everything she wears?! It's not fair! How am I supposed to think of anything else? UGH!" My eyes travel the lenght of her body taking note of the slightly open white shirt giving a mouth watering view of her neck and part of her chest, just enough to be distracting but not too much. Her sleeves are rolled up to her elbows putting her tattoos in display, reminding everyone what a masterpiece she is. My eyes continued down to her black skinny jeans, hugging her strong legs in every right place and to finish her look her trademark combat boots. As my eyes climbed back up her body to fall on her face a hand starts waving in front of me blocking the view.
"Earth to horny!" I blush all the way to my ears giving the chuckling couple a death glare. "Girl don't give me that look you would have flooded this place drooling like that." Robert tries not to laugh at his boyfriend's joke as he gives me a soft push.
"Go say hi!" I shuffle in place hesitating as my eyes searched the sea of people for the raspy voiced girl. To my surprise her eyes are already on me and meet mine as she smiles. I'm offered a wave prompting me to shyly reciprocate. I see her lips move but it's too loud for me to hear what she's saying. My heart starts beating a mile a second when the goddess starts walking towards our table. In my internal panic I look at my friends for support, what I get instead is knowing smirks and a shrug. As I start to look away from them I am startled by the tentalising voice deliciously close to my ear.
"Hey Freckles!" A shiver runs through me trailing goosebumps on my skin. As I fully turn my head I notice how close she is. My heart starts running away with my sanity. "Did she just call me freckles? That's so cute!"
"Hey Iris." I half scream both to make myself heard and out of sheer gay panic. "What am I supposed to do with myself when she's this close? C'mon Sam get a hold on yourself! You've held hands for fuck sake. You slept on her bed ... OMG THIS IS NOT HELPING!!!" My friends come to my rescue. Lu rests a hand on my shoulder while extending the other towards my crush.
"Hi I don't think we've been introduced! I'm Lewis and this handsome man is my boyfriend Robert." A smile is shared among the three as they shake each others' hands. "We've heard so much about you!" The smile Lu was holding turns into a teasing smirk when his eyes land on me. I give an annoyed sigh that sounds more like a growl. "They're not going to be making this any easier are they?"
Iris looks between us with a half smile showing her dimple. "How can someone be both cute and hot at the same time?" My eyes devour the way the lights play over her skin almost drowning myself in desire in the process. After a few moments of silence the quieter of the boys speaks up for the first time. "Maybe you and your friends can join us for the night?" Iris walks away towards her friends. As soon as her back is turned I hiss at them
"WTF? You're going to be the death of me!" I whined to them.
"If anything I would say she will be the death of you!" The sassy man raises his chin towards the fit brunette. I watch as the small group conferences for a minute before walking to join us. It's at that time that I noticed Iris is carrying what looks like a guitar case. My head snaps back to the small empty stage on the other side of the room then just as fast towards my friends. "I was wondering when you would notice!" Lewis says with a chuckle. "Guess you had your head preoccupied with more important things!" The love birds start laughing making me turn scarlet.
The group fuses with ours leaving both new but somewhat familiar faces all the way around the table. As the group gets comfortable and acquaintanced with each other I try to get the muscular woman's attention, after a few seconds I'm successful. "Are you going to be singing tonight?" The shorter girl tilts her head towards the stage.
"Yeah! I've had done it before as a dare and it ended up becoming a tradition. We come here most weeks." She runs her hand through the back of her neck bashfully as she speaks. I awarded her with an encouraging smile.
"I look forward to hearing you!" It's strange how we all seem to fall so naturally in place with the others. Lu elbows me to get my attention, seeing I was flanked on one side by him and the other by my crush, he wiggles his eyebrows at me causing me release a chuckle as I slap his arm playfully. "Don't get any ideas!" I whisper in his direction but instead of giving me an answer the boy smirks and raises his voice.
"Who's up for some truth or dare?" My heart drops to my stomach as everyone around the table gives enthusiastic nods. Sneaking a peek at the instructor's face. Her dark pools study everyone before resting on mine. It felt like a caress, warm but cautious.
"What do you think?" Sounding a bit unsure but still calm she asked. "What should I say? I know they're up to no good. Should I see where it goes after all there's more people involved it's not likely that they'll always ask me..." As I was pondering all the what ifs a soft touch on the inside of my elbow brought me back. "I can feel her warmth even through my sleeve." The firmness in the softness helps me ground myself. As I finally lift my eyes to meet her obsidian ones their depth threathens to swallow me whole. There's so much worry swimming in them. "Are you okay?" When the question finally reaches my ears I realise how much I had been drowning in my own doubts.
"Ah yes ... sorry ... Just uhmm ... Just got lost in thought ... Let's play!" I attempted a reassuring smile and got rewarded with a comforting squeeze to my arm as a response.
We cleaned the table and put a bottle down on it's side. The bottle would dictate who got asked the question so the game would be fair. Robert spinned first having it land on one of the guy's we didn't know. He responded with a cocky smirk. "Do your worse!" The challenge caused a mischievous smile to adorn Rob's face.
"Truth or dare?" The guy with the dice and card tattoo on his neck raised his head at him.
"Dare!" My two best friends share a look.
"You have 5 mins to get the bartender to give you his number!" The guy chuckles tapping the table once with his finger.
"Start counting."Â He walks away confidently as we watched. For several minutes he tries his best to charm the bartender which doesn't seem to be paying him much mind. When the time is up he comes back looking dejected, we try not to giggle as he returns to his sit on the table. After a few minutes I zoned out only coming back to my senses when I hear my name.
"Sam truth or dare?" T asked still glued to the lifeguard like she depended on it to survive. I hesitate for a second knowing fully well that Tamie can be just as dangerous as the boys when she wants to. I glance at the olive skinned brunette before answering.
"Truth." Tapping her lip to cover a smile she lets me panic for a second before asking her question.
"Is it true that you think the person next to you is hot?" My face turns crimson all the way to my ears as I do my best to avoid looking at the goddess by my side. I released a nervous chuckle.
"Isn't everyone at this table?" Tam crinkles her nose in amusement at my deflection.
"Fair enough!" Her knowing smile let's me know everything I needed to. "This little fuckers! I'm going to kill them!" I thought to myself as I elbowed the boy next to me I get no reaction from him leaving me even more annoyed. I proceed to spin the bottle but it lands back on me mocking me as much as my friends. I frown at the stupid bottle before a hand turns the bottle slightly away and towards themselves I follow the hand up to a muscular tattoed arm all the way to the beautiful face I couldn't get out of my mind. I gave her a questioning look.
"Ask." Her raspy voice softly instructed me.
"Truth or dare?" I managed to get out breathlessly. Surprisingly there's no hesitation in her answer as it is given immediately.
"Dare." I froze for a second too stunned to speak. Her gaze on me leaving me feeling too hot to function. All the possibilities rushed to my mind running over each other to be heard first. I stuttered out something incomprehensible.
"I dare you to ..." Her eyes never left my face but mine kept travelling between her eyes and her lips causing me to bite mine and swallow hard before taking a deep steadying breath even if I felt like a fish out of water. "I dare you to kiss the most attractive person at our table." I wish the earth would open and swallow me. I worry my lip at the expression on her face. "She looks a bit taken aback ... Did I cross a line? Maybe I shouldn't have pushed it ..." Her mesmerizing dark orbs observe the faces around the table until they fall back on me. She takes a step closer, my heart beats in my ears. Her face gets closer but stops shy of mine.
"Can I kiss you?" Her whisper sounds so small and careful. I don't trust my voice to speak so I just nod a bit too eagerly. Her hand comes up rest on my face as she pulls my head slightly down and inches herself closer until we're a breath away. The brunette waits there as we share the same air, my head spins until I finally close the distance between us. At first her lips are a whisper against mine, soft, searching and a bit unsure. I don't back down prompting her to continue. Her arm snakes around my waist allowing her to pull me flush against her. I gasp in surprise as the feeling of her body against mine drives me crazy. The hand she had on my face goes to the back of my neck as she pulls me impossibly close. As she deepens the kiss, my hands instinctively find their way to the back of the brunette's neck. The kiss becomes hungry and passionate as her tongue asks for entry. I part my lips allowing her to explore. Her taste overwhelms me and comforts me. My mind fogs with the feeling of her and I swear I was drowning until I kissed her. She regretfully pulls away, my whole body screams for more but as my senses return I hear our friends wolf whistling at us. We step away from each other slowly. My knees feel weak and my face is on fire. I struggle to catch my breath as all the sounds of the bar rush back to my ears.
As she turns towards the table I discretly fan myself failing miserably to cool down my burning face. We play a couple more rounds before her name gets called from the stage. She offers me a smile whispering to me. "I'll be back." And for the first time I see her blushing face.
As she walks away I realise how much this girl just rocked my world!
