Chapter 14

I dare you - Iris' POV

Knocked out of course (Girlxgirl)

I lead the way into my favourite cozy diner, followed by two of my favourite people. Both of them were quiet, probably lost in their own thoughts.

I sit down expecting them to do the same but instead what I get is hesitation, both women just standing there as if they have suddenly turned to stone. This scenario didn't change even after a full minute went by leaving me more and more confused.

"Are you girls okay? Is something wrong?" As I asked this I looked between the two hoping for any kind of indication of what was going on.

The silence stretches longer becoming more noticeable with each passing second. My gaze rested upon both girls which mostly were avoiding my gaze looking between each other and the sits in front of them. As I was about to speak again Gabriella uncertainty finally seems to break into pieces as she let's herself fall into the seat opposite from me as if her her weight was too much for her legs to handle anymore.

"Considering everything that is going on I'm not surprised at the heaviness that surrounds her every movement she makes seems heavy and forced as if she needs to convince herself to move, to keep moving. The quiet strenght she always possesses sometimes still leaves me in awe, keeping herself together no matter what. Not letting life break her. It's admirable but also sad watching her carry that way weight without sharing it with anyone ... I can't really blame her I'm the same way."

I get brought back to reality as someone finally speaks.

"Just sit down!" The exasperation clear in the latina's voice is externalised even more by an  exaggerated eye roll.

Lowering her head the cute freckled girl shuffles in place before gingerly sitting by my side. There's a soft floral smell to her. Reminds me of the green tea with jasmin I sometimes drink. Hinting at a comforting sweetness hidden just beneath the surface.

A couple of minutes go by before Sofia walks up to our booth her black hair held in a ponytail swaying behind her with every step. Her sunny smile gave us a full show of her dimples that make so much people melt.

"I can't really blame them there's always a brightness to her that just feels so inviting It's kinda funny how opposite she is to her sister but yet just as strong. One look at her would never tell you about how hard her life has been! She's a beautiful positive ball of energy that knows exactly how to give light to people's lives."

And here she was doing just that. "Hey Iris! Sam! Long time no see!" Her hazel gaze falls upon the shy girl next to me. "You used to come here all the time!" A heabeat later her eyes are back on me. "I didn't know you two are friends!" I catch a blush creeping up Sam's face as she looks outside. I follow her gaze seeing the so familiar park. I don't have time to wonder about that reaction before the sunshine voice beams back up.

"Hey lil sis! Don't forget to message mom to let her know at what time you're getting back home!"

As usual the younger of the two gives out attitude! "I'm not a kid anymore!" As if to point this out she rolls her eyes as well as her whole head leaving her looking outside the window her eyes turning cloudy. "Anyone seeing this exchange would never be able to tell that they are each other's rocks. They're best friends tho G would never admit it out loud. You can tell how much she adores and respects her."

The feisty short girl looks best at her sister getting only a look that causes her to relent as a sigh escapes her. Typing away at her phone quickly before showing it back. "I can see the apology in her eyes as she does so!"

"Happy now?" There's no bite to her voice this time which causes a smile to bloom on the black haired woman's face before she speaks.

"Thank you!"

I shift my attention back to the girl to the left of me. I get met by eyes already on me a soft warmth to them tho there's a brushstroke of confusion and aprehension painted on to them. Our small exchange gets cut off as the sunny dispositioned girl chirps back up.

"Sorry about that! So what are you girls having?"

I speak up first. "Hey Sofia! I'll have my usual! Thanks!" We share a grin as the friendly athmosphere sips into me. Sofia regards the light skinned girl by my side.

"What about you sunshine?" She crinkles her nose adorably before chuckling at the nickname.

"I'll have the same as her." There's a motion towards me to indicate whom Sam is referring to.

"Alright." The mellow hazel eyes flow back accross the booth. "How about you Gabi? Your favourite?" Instead of a proper answer the waitress gets a small shrug trying to convey uninterest to the untrained eyes. "I'll be right back with your order!" We get rewarded with a cheerful smile as Sofia moves towards the kitchen.

I turn back to the forest eyed girl letting my surprise slip through. "I didn't know you came here!" A rose tint splashes across her soft features.

"I used to come here a lot with my friends!" It feels like there's something left unsaid but instead of continuing she gives a slight shiver, causing me to tilt my head to the side in curiosity. "Is she cold? I don't feel cold and she has a jacket on!" Not allowing myself to get stuck in my own head I stay with the conversation.

"I'm surprised we never met before, I ate here a bit too much honestly!" A chuckle springs out of me at my own admition.

The sassy dark skinned girl breaks whatever spell we were in. "Maybe you have!"  I shrug at her words. "I doubt it if I'm perfectly honest. I don't think Sam would have gone unnoticed to me. She draws me in! I can't quite explain it. She just has this magnetic pull to her. I'm not used to being attracted to someone like I am to her! It's all so new and different, the fact I can't quite place the why just throws my world for a spin."

The rest of our time in the diner goes by without a hitch. So soon after, with a full belly and a kind send off to top it, we leave a calmness settling over us.

A few steps in, on our walk the girl with the constellations on her skin pipes up. "Cinema?" For a second we stand still looking between the three of us.

With a small voice that contradicts her whole personality Gabi chimes in. "I have a home cinema I built when I was younger." A small smirk grows in my face. "Most people don't know how much of a technology and movie buff G is." But as soon as that line of thought forms it gets replaced by worry.

"Would it be okay if we go to yours? Won't your mom be resting?"  The girl gets shaky before saying no with her head. I can hear the break in her voice as the next words are spoken.

"No she's at the hospital." All the pieces click into place as this information sinks in. Without the need for an explanation I offer the girl the comfort she needs right now. My arms close around her as she takes my offer without a second of indecision, like that will stop her from drowning under the pressure of the world falling apart around her. I notice the slow and uncertain approach of step. They prompt me to look up and gift a sad smile to the cautious blonde. A hand is softly placed on the pain consumed lump in my arms. The stiffening it causes would have been imperceptible to anyone else.

"I am so sorry about your mother! I can only hope she will be healthy again soon. She's a strong woman she'll be fighting this until it's beaten!"

A few minutes go by as the tremors slowly subside until all it's left is a soft sniffling. Soon after that the girl takes a deep breathe before standing up on her own. Regaining the strenght to stand back up and face the world. The spark she always carries makes it's way back to her teary eyes.

"Thank you!" Comes out hoarse and small but all the emotions are storming in her eyes making it impossible to ignore the meaning behind her words. I allow myself to take them. "Thank you is not a thing Gabriella ever says lightly." I beam down at her before she turns around and repeats the same words to the tense blonde behind her. "Thank you!" Sam looks completely taken back by the latina's words. As the silence hangs there I take it as a chance to continue as I rest my hand on the short girl's shoulder, my other hand coming to a rest on the uncertain woman's arm, creating a bridge between the two.

"We're here for you, whatever you need. You don't have to do this alone." This seems to lift some of the load on her shoulder allowing her to straighten up her demeanor becoming more confident with each passing minute. What remains of her tears gets wiped away. Some light finally breaking through her fog. Her smile shines through for the first time today.

"That means a lot! Thanks again!" I observe as her breathing becomes even, her flame back alight after being starved for oxygen. "I'm ready to go!" Striding away from us but unable to cover much of a distance before we manage to catch up. A giggle glitters from the starry brit, catching everyone off guard. Amused I give her an inquisitive look. Her beautiful turns crimson as she let's her embarassament take over.

"Sorry I was just thinking of something!" My eyes don't leave her face as I take in all the small gestures of it as the fleeting emotions dance with each other for dominance nut none staying for too long. "She's really bad at hiding her emotions huh? It's cute how open and honest her face is about everything she is feeling."

We reach the house soon after. A dramatic sarcastic flair comes over the darker skinned girl because she curtsies while proclaiming. "Welcome to my humble domain!" I walk right in not being shy about my curiosity. As I look around without touching anything I come face to face with a yellow Burmese python.

"Hey buddy!" I say to  him "Are you all cozy in there?" The python looks at me yawning before coming closer curiously. "AWWW you're so cute! I kinda want to steal you away but shhh don't tell you owner! It's our little secret!" I say putting a finger in front of my lips as if shushing him. I hear voices behind me which makes me turn around. "How long have they've been here for? Damn was I really that distracted?" Putting that aside for now I let my excitement take the helm. "Is he used to being handled?"

Her face loses any sort of sharpness it still had to it. Her gaze grows a fondness that I've never seen to it. "Yeah! You want to?" I can't help the myself from lighting up. Gabi gets closer and removes the cover to give me access to the little buddy. I slowly put my hand in being careful not to spook him. He approaches slowly before starting climb up my arm and settling there. I pet him delicately. I don't know how long passes as I get lost in my excited haze but I can feel eyes on me. I look up realizing both girls were staring at me, waiting for me to be done so we could watch a movie. I get embarrassed at the realisation. I can feel a slight heat rising to my cheeks.

"Ah sorry I got distracted!" I look back down at the snake nestled in my arm before turning my attention to my friends.

"Right what movie should we watch?" The emerald eyed cutie asks taking the attention away from me fortunately. I just shrugged in response my mind drawing a blank.  I can see the long haired brunette almost jumping out of her skin wanting to indulge herself in this conversation. "Gabi seems so excited to actually being able to talk about something she actually enjoys. It's nice to see her get a break from all the shit."

The light skinned girl goes thoughtful for a moment before giving a small nod to herself. "What's everyone's favourite movie?"

Not missing a beat the latina answers. "That's a difficult question! There's so many genres to choose from and there's times where you want to watch a specific kind of movie because of your mood so I guess it changes with how I feel. How can I choose just one?"  Sam seems to be reeling from the answer she got. "You didn't expect that huh? I was surprised the first time too! It's pretty nice to see her passionate side tho. It's refreshing! Seeing beyond her thoughness and realising there's so much more to her as a person and a friend!"

We all seemed to ponder on the answer for a moment. Freckles was the one to answer her own question first. "My favourite movie is the heat. Lighthearted movies always make me feel better."

"Not a bad choice!" Gab acts nonchalant about it but coming from her that's kinda high praise.

"Well I'm more into the horror genre even tho I do love animations. My favourite has to be split."  I explained shortly.

The brunette looks lost in thought for a second before she seems to get a little anxious. "Uhm if I had to choose just one, it would be I can't think straight. I'm a sucker for happy endings!" I can see the timid side of her starting to win the fight so I interrupt the course her mood was taking.

"So we all like different genres." A chuckle breaks out from me. "The question still remains, what movie should we watch?" My gaze shifts between honey orbs to jade. There's some uncertainty radiating from both sides neither seemingly wanting to take the risk to upset the other. After some pondering Gabriella decides to be the one taking the initiative.

"Humm ... LGBT maybe?" The wavering in her voice giving away how she was feeling. "Since we're all part of the community..." Her eyes go wide for a second, realisation hiting her hard. Panicking her gaze rockets towards Sam. "Right?" I can tell G is mentalling kicking herself I gently touch her arm seeing her visibly relax but the worried look in her eyes doesn't dissipate. The dark blonde haired woman takes some time to reply. The latina gives me a helpless look thinking she might have done something wrong. Finally the silence is broken.

"Yes?" All the tension seems to evaporate from the room. As the short girl finally allows herself to breathe.

"Okay cool!" I study the constellation adorned beauty. "I hope we didn't make her uncomfortable. Her answer sounded so unsure. It felt like she was pressured into giving us the answer she thought we wanted! I'm probably just overthinking I don't think she would have said yes if she wasn't or at least I hope she wouldn't!" I look at the girl in front of me hoping against all hope that I haven't been getting things wrong. Two claps completely shatter our staring contest. "Let's go!" The long haired olive skinned girl exclaims.

Sam blinks a few times. "Yeah let's go!" I flinch a little at the sudden half shouted answer. The little marsmallow python reacts too making me realise that I need to put him back so he can be safe and sound.

"Go ahead! Let me just put this little guy away!" I go back to the habitat. Removing him gently and carefully I put him back in his home making sure to secure the lid properly before moving away. I waved at the little guy before making my way towards them. As I reached the room I find both women in opposite sides of the room. As my eyes travel around the room they settle on a big shelf full of videogames my curiosity peaks but not wanting to get more distracted I walk over to the house owner. "Which ones were we thinking of watching?" I easily peek over the short girl's shoulder to see what movies she's holding.

G tenses for a second before taking a shaky deep breathe. "Did I scare her?" Before I could fuss over it I get an answer to my previous question. "Depends if you want a happy ending! If that's the case our selection gets significantly smaller. Almost every movie or tv show that includes a same sex couple either kills one of them or breaks them up. Where are our happy endings? It's kinda fucked makes me feel like we're not deserving of it in their eyes!" A heavy sigh is finally released before a quick sorry gets thrown over her shoulder.

I chuckle a bit while shaking my head. "I mean you're definitely right in what you're saying but I'm still risking it. I want a happy ending!" At that most dvds get shelved. I get shown the very small pool of choices. "OOF that's such a big hit in the amount of choices!" "So that leaves us Imagine Me and you, I can't think straight and It's in the water?" I ask glancing at G. An apologetic nod is my answer. "Humm ... This one then?" I pull up It's in the water.

I'm rewarded with a bright smile. "Good choice! Let's ask!"

"Sam what do you say? Do you want to watch it's in the water?" Our unison sing song toned question goes completely unnoticed.

"Earth to Sam?!" The latina jokingly calls out.

"Sam?" I ask again after a few seconds. That finally brings her back out of whatever reverie she had been in.

"I'm sorry what?" Her reaction causes us both to turn into bundles of laughter.

"Where were you just now?" I ask trying to hold my laughter in. Flushing up to her ears she shrugs bashfully. A fit of gigles escapes us again. Sam starts smiling too. "She can be so cute!" I thought to myself before repeating what we had been proposing earlier. "We were asking if you want to watch It's in the water? Gabi said it's one of the few with a happy ending that she has."

A few tired blinks later and we get our answer. "Sure that's fine." Her voice started to drag a bit as if she was fighting sleep. I hand the dvd to G who goes set everything up. I approach slowly and sit next to the girl who yawned loudly starting to lose the fight.

"Are you tired? We can watch the movie some other time!" I watched as her eyelids seemed to become heavier by the second but still stubbornly she shook her head.

"It's fine. Don't worry!" Gabriella looked at me for confirmation before turning off the lights and melting into the sofa, her head came to rest in my lap startling slightly. I was given puppy eyes with an unspoken question at my reaction. I simply nodded knowing this was one of her ways of asking to be comforted. "Why do I think I'll be the only one awake by the end of this movie?" Glancing between both girls every so often I could see them quicly loosing the battle against sleep. Gabriella was the first one out, the british blonde following soon after her head falling to the side slightly leaving her head resting on my shoulder. I can't help but smile at both sleeping girls. "They were really tired huh? Yet they both refused to call it a day! I can't say I don't understand. I haven't had a day out with friends idk in how long! Just relaxing and doing something together. I almost forgot how nice this is!"

I keep watching the movie until the end. As the end credits roll I stretch a bit causing G to wake up. "Oh it's already over? How  long was I out?" Righting herself while sleepily rubbing her eyes her eyes caught sight of the other woman still asleep. A small gesture tells me she wants me to wake her up too. "I'll call her a taxi! Better if she doesn't drive in that state." I thank her as she leaves the room but she only waves a hand at me dismissing it.

I look at the starry skinned girl feeling warmth spread through me. "She looks so adorable like this! I wish i could let her sleep longer but her neck would be hurting tomorrow." I carefully push some strands of hair away from her face while softly calling her name. It takes a few minutes of trying for me to get throught the sleepy mist. My hand rests on her face tilting it slighlty up so I could try to get a better look at her. "Sam it's time to wake up sleepyhead." She stirs leaning into my hand more. My heart skips a beat leaving me astonished for a second at how such a simple gesture left me completely speechless.

Emerald eyes heavy with drowsiness start to take me in. "There you are! I've been trying to wake you up for almost five minutes." Instinctively I push the strands of hair that got loose and were falling on her face, back behind her ear. I start to pull back but a hand on my wrist stops me. My eyes go wide and my heart races out of my chest, her touch sending inexplicable sparks through me. Her action dawns on her and her eyes show the panic she must be feeling. Her expression causes my panic to dissipate, a soft and caring feling replacing it. I slowly lift my hand closest to her offering it instead for her to take if she wants to. Without hesitation the woman that causes shocks to flow through my system, accepts my hand and quickly interwines our fingers.

"I'm sorry. I don't know why I did that!" Her freckled face gains a red tint to it and she turns her face away looking at everything else but me for a while. I give her a half smile before reassuring her.

"No worries it probably had something to do with whatever you were dreaming about!" The british woman nods along to my words but doesn't seem to be listening. I push on trying to get her awake so we can leave. "Gabi offered to get a taxi for you, so you can get back safely."

Wilfully denying it but knowing full well we were Sam says. "It's fine I can walk." I stare at her half amused and half amazed at how obstinate she can be. Looking her over and noticing for the first time how different she looked from me and Gabriella with her designer clothes and shoes I tried again being as soft as I can with my tone knowing full well my words would probably sound harsh.

"You left your car at mine and if I had to guess I would say you don't live anywhere near here." Immediately her eyes grow hazy her thoughts consuming her. I tap her forehead right between her perfectly sculptured eyebrows. The simple gesture makes her jump confirming my suspicions.

"Where have you gone to again?" Sam shakes off her head both to dismiss me and cut through the fog clouding her features.

"It's nothing I'm just tired!" There's nothing convincing about her tone but I don't push her for an answer, choosing to instead use her words in my favour.

"So you're taking the cab right?"  An exasperated sigh escapes her lips but she nods nonetheless. The latina who had just been observing quietly takes this as her time to inform us both.

"It's on it's way five minutes or so and it should be here!" With that in mind I push myself upright and pull Freckles along with me. I walk towards the short brunette letting go of the hand grounding me for a second before repeating the same gesture from earlier in the day and in the exact same fashion she falls into my arms without missing a beat.

"If you need anything just let me know. Keep me updated alright?" I feel the small woman nod into my chest but not quite leaving my embrace yet. After a few heartbeats she pushes me away while going up on her tiptoes to leave a kiss on my cheek. Sam who had been watching the exchange moves to my side waving shortly as we start making our way towards the exit.

"Take care princess!" I hear G say knowing exactly who those words were meant for. I take a peek at her face noticing she had gone again to whatever place she goes when lost in thought. Sam remains like that until the sound of a car stopping in front of us seems to shake her from her trance.

Turning towards the emerald eyed starry woman I put one hand on each side of her face and pull it down softly so I can leave a tender kiss on her forehead. "Take care beautiful!" The affectionate gesture causes her to turn crimson all the way down to her neck. We stand there for what only feels like a blink of an eye but was probably much longer before the driver beeps the horn of the car loudly scaring the beautiful brit half to death. Hurriedly she drops a quick kiss to my cheek and enters the vehicle which is off before she even has a chance to properly close the door.

When I'm alone I cover my face with both hands feeling giddy but also embarassed. "I hope I didn't go too far but the gesture somehow felt right. I don't quite know what came over me but that reaction was so worth it!" My feet start moving on their own accord guiding me home as I walk in autopilot lost in thought with a stupid grin on my face.

The couple weeks that follow are just a repeat of the same routines but even tho I see her friends a few time throughout that time I never see the cute dark blonde haired woman.

Tonight just felt like another of those nights I went to this small cosy bar that my friends always invite me to for the fact it has an open mic nights and they like to get me to sing since they first heard me. I make my way to the bar where a couple of my friends are already waiting. We make small talk while we wait for the others to arrive. As the last person finally gets here he immediately asks if we've seen the girl that he won't shut up about, for the last few days every word out of his mouth is about this girl. Only couple of minutes after a girl skips over to him putting an arm around him they pull away slightly from the group unblocking my view. I listen to their conversation for a bit before losing interest and looking around the bar for  anyone interest or that I might know. Not too far from me I see the person who's been stuck in my mind for the past few weeks. The girl with the constellations on her skin is wearing a knee lenght pastel blue dress with black high heels that make her legs look incredible and on the back of her chair hangs a black short leather jacket. Her hair falls in waves around her face framing it beautifully. The light flows around her sometimes giving me a clear image of her beautiful features as she speaks to someone near her. I stand mostly looking at my friends but glancing at the blonde every so often to see if she had noticed me.

One of those times while I was looking at her our gazes meet. I smile and offer her a wave as a greeting which gets a shy response back. "Come here!" I mouth to her but get no reaction which prompts me to take initiative and start walking towards her table instead. As I reach the table her back is turned as she gestures widly. "Hey Freckles!" I greet her leaning a bit closer so I don't have to shout over the noise of the people chatting loudly as well as the music. A shiver later I get a half yell half greeting back.

"Hey Iris." I smirk in amusement at the looks her friends are sharing among themselves. One of them puts a hand on Sam's shoulder and offers me the other one for a handshake. As I take it he speaks up over the noise.

"Hi I don't think we've been introduced! I'm Lewis and this handsome man is my boyfriend Robert." I look over to where he is pointing and I smile back at the now familiar faces. "They've been here almost every open mic night!" After we shake hands a mischievous glint takes over his entire face. "We've heard so much about you!" I take in the interaction being entertained by their dynamic and the bickering. After a bit of silence but very loud looks the boy that was introduced to me as Robert suggests.

"Maybe you and your friends can join us for the night?" I nod before walking back towards the bar where they stand people watching and making up stories for everyone they see.

"Hey guys gather around please." They come closer forming a small circle. "We're being invited to join a table with some people I know. What do you want to do?" They look between each other some nodding and others trying to look in the direction I came from. The girl interjects before anyone can speak.

"Oh they're cool they're my friends I came here to meet them! might have gotten a bit distracted tho!" She laughs while staring at the boy she has been attached to since he arrived. With those words hanging in the air everyone nodded. I started walking back with my group in tow some of them carrying instruments along with them just like I was. Both groups mix together naturally falling into place with each other. After a bit of time observing both groups of people interact and become acquaintanced I notice the gorgeous forest eyed girl trying to get my attention. I look up  at her waiting for her to talk.

"Are you going to be singing tonight?" I incline my head slightly to the side as if pointing towards the stage. She waits expectantly but not so patiently fidgeting a bit as she awaits my answer.

"Yeah I've done it before as a dare and it ended up becoming a tradition. We come here most weeks." Feeling a bit self conscious I run my hand throught the back of my neck trying to soothe my building nerves. A beautiful encouraging smile is my reward being only followed but a few simple words that made me nervous beyond belief.

"I look forward to hearing you!" Instead of answering I resume people watching trying to take my mind away from the inevitable. That was until this words were loudly announced.

"Who's up for some truth or dare?" I look around the table taking in enthusiastic nod and excited chatter. My eyes fall on the freckled cutie by me.

"What do you think?" I asked seeing she was having a much more reserved reaction than the rest of the group  but also to try and assess what to expect considering she knew the other people involved. "Truth or dare seems innocent enough right?" Nothing she could have said could have prepared me for the turn my world would take after a dare that would  be thrown at me but her silence spoke volumes. It stretched for so long it made start worrying. I touched the inside of her elbow gently, trying to get her back to the moment. "Are you okay?"

Her eyes refocused on me still unsure but more determined than before. "Ah yes ... Sorry ... Just uhmm ... Just got lost in thought ... Let's play!" An attempt of reassurance of her part got her in turn a light squeeze to her arm. Everyone helped clear the table since apparently they wanted to put the game of truth and dare together with spin the bottle so it's fair for everyone participating.

The game started with the bottle landing on one of the guys originally from my group. He has quite a bit of an ego so of course he went for the dare even challenging them in the process. End result was that he came back with his tail between his legs because he didn't manage to deliver.

The game went on mostly in a blur of laughs and bickering until the bottle landed on Sam.

"Truth or dare?" The girl whom I now knew was Tamara asked with a smirk blooming on her face. Sam goes for truth glancing at me for a second leaving me a bit curious. "Is it true that you think the person next to you is hot?" Instead of answering Freckles chuckles nervously and deflects.

"Isn't everyone at this table?" I can tell her friend isn't pleased with her answer if the slight squint she throws our way is any indication of it but she doesn't press further just moving on from it. The forest green eyed girl spins the bottle but it lands back on her to which she frowns. Seeming irritated at it. I throw caution to the wind and spin the bottle to me. Her eyes travel up my arm slowly until they reach my face. Her eyes are full of questions but none come out of her mouth so I give a simple instruction in the most soothing way I could muster.

"Ask!" For a momet she doesn't move talk or even seems to breathe but she pulls herself together and let's out shakily almost in a whisper.

"Truth or dare?" Her eyes study my face as if she's trying to figure me out. Her emotions seem to be boiling over each other as she speaks those three words.

I don't hesitate with my answer I knew from the get go what it would have been, so i gave it immediately after the question.

"Dare." Shock paralyses her, her eyes growing darker for a second, her breath hitches as she stutters out something I can't quite understand. Sam gives it another try.

"I dare you to ..." Her face flushes as her eyes meet mine after a second they drop to my lips as she bites her own before our gazes meet again. My mouth goes a bit dry as her look becomes more certain and determined. "Fuck why is she looking at me like that? My heart needs to take a chill pill too... Ah fuck!" I take a deep breathe waiting for her to go on. "I dare you to kiss the most attractive person at our table." The realisation of what that means dawns on me. I get goosebumps just from the thought of going through with it. She worries her lip between her teeth and my eyes can't help  but follow it. "Fuck that is definitely not helping!" I make a show of looking around the table knowing fully well who the person was without needing to. I take a step closer watching closely for her reactions as I slowly inch my face closer to her. I stop when we're so close I can hear the air catch in her throat but I don't cross that line.

"Can I kiss you?" I whisper softly as if in that moment only the two of us existed. Everything around us fell off into nothingness.

Sam licks her lips but doesn't speak nodding quickly. At her enthusiastic response my uncertainty melts away and my hands goes up  to her face caressing it softly before bringing it down closer until  we were breathing the same air. I wait for her there. Her green orbs becoming heavy and dark with desire. She makes the next move closing the distance between us. I brush my lips  against hers a barely there touch that gives enough space for her to back down. Her breathing becomes shallow and irregular her eyes remaining closed even when our lips are not touching as if she's waiting for more. I throw all caution to the wind and pull her closer to me by the waist bringing our bodies flush against each other. A gasp escapes her lips and she swallows hard. My hand travels from her face to the back of her neck pressing lightly as I pull  her down to meet my lips in a proper kiss. Her lips are soft but urgent against mine as if she needs more to be able to breathe but can't catch her breath for the life of her. My tongue searches for permission to explore as it dances across her bottom lip. She gives me assess to her. Allowing me to taste her as she melts in my arms. I pull back as it lights something within that wants more but I'm not ready for. So I hold her as her knees tremble and threathen to buckle under her. Her eyes slowly open to meet mine dark as the night promising to swallow me whole and her face red as ruby.  As our moment melts away the world around us refocus and I can hear everyone around us again. I slowly release her and turn towards the table doing my best to calm my fast passed heart. A few more rounds go by but I don't pay them any mind too distracted by everything I felt with that kiss. I only snap out of it when my name gets called to go on stage. I turn to the freckled beauty offering her a smile as well as a promise.

"I'll be back!"

I walk away from her a new feeling in my chest burning bright as my world turned upside down.

A.N. Sorry for the slow updates I've been very demotivated to write not because I don't love it but because of the sheer amount of time each chapter takes to write. It can be very overwhelming at times.

I'm going to  do my best to update more often in between my streams on YT.

Thank you for your patience and thank you for reading.
