The one with the lesbian flirting.
You're my captain. (Hailee Steinfeld)
(Please read note at the end.)
"Harder, harder, harder, harder Parker!"
Parker glanced up at the man spotting her, otherwise known has her farther, with a glare. "Will you lower your voice, we're getting weird looks." She grunted as she carried on with her bench presses.
Her dad glanced around quickly, not wanting to risk his anything happening to his daughter whilst she pushed the weight up. "Honey, look at the people in here, I don't think they care all that much."
Parker went to speak but decided not to waste her breath. She knows her dad, what she doesn't know is how much energy she has lift to lift the last rep of the weights on the bars.
"Come on, Parker. Nearly there, little more okay?" Her dad, Sam, cheered on, his hands hovering around the bar to help ease the weight when she completed the rep. "There we go! Nicely done, dude." He complimented as he passed her a towel and a bottle of water as he began wiping down the equipment. "How's that hamstring feeling?"
Parker stood up and shook her leg out a few times. "Good, sturdy as ever, dad." She said before taking a few big gulps of water.
"Do you think you'll get any minutes against Dash?" Sam asked as the pair took a breather.
Parker shrugged. "Maybe the last 10 or something? I haven't played any proper minutes since doing my hamstring, I doubt they're gonna be rushing me."
"Yeah, I know, kid. I just thought first game of the season, first Angel City game, didn't know if they were gonna let you stretch your legs. You were in pretty high demand after last season in England."
"And then my dumbass pulls me hamstring trying to do the dirty dancing lift with you." Parker groaned.
"Hey!" Sam turned to face her, pointing a finger in her direction. "We nailed that. And Alex said we couldn't." He said with a smirk before offering his fist to his daughter.
She rolled her eyes and gave her dad his desired fist bump anyway. "Alright, let's just do some medicine ball drops then call it quits. I want a sandwich." Sam nodded along and headed to a padded area and picked up a medicine ball whilst Parker lay on the ground.
"You ready?"
"Yup." With that Sam dropped the medicine ball from his position over her, Parker letting out a small grunt as she caught it and tossed it back up to his hands, knowing he'll catch it.
"Am I still cool to come to your place for dinner?" She asked, finishing it with another grunt as she caught the dropped medicine ball.
"Of course dude, you know Alex is obsessed with you. He's been practicing his deserts since you shamed his cheesecake the last week."
All I'm-ooft," Parker took a breath as she prepared to through the medicine ball up again. "Is you guys have been married for like 4 years now, and the guy has yet to make a cheesecake that doesn't taste like I'm eating squirty cheese."
Sam rolled his eyes before dropping the ball again. "Why must you make me suffer? You drop these bones then it's me that has to live with him telling me ten thousand different recipes. Oh crap, my phone." Sam looked away no more than 3 seconds to glance at his phone screen as it lit up from its place on the floor, but his warning came too late and Parker had already thrown the medicine ball up which wasn't caught and proceeded to fall back down through her unexpecting arms and landing slap bang in the centre of her stomach.
"Fuck!" She let out a shout followed by a groan as she rolled over onto her side clutching her stomach as she tried to take deep breaths to fill her lungs up with the air the medicine ball just forced out of her body. "Jesus dad what the fuck."
Parker lay there for a second catching her breath, ignoring the people around her as the voices all started to mold together.
After giving herself a couple off minutes to recover she rolled onto her back with a gasp, happy to be able to actually breathe a bit more normally now.
"Hi, oh my gosh are you okay?" She was greeted by a female on her knees next to her head, she was peering down at Parkers face with concern on her features.
Parker froze for a second. "You're not my dad."
The girl above her laughed. "I am most definitely not your dad." She glanced behind her with a small smile before facing Parker again. "Your dad is over their pacing...or having a minor melt down. Maybe both." Parker laughed at the girls response, Alex is gonna murder him for this. "Can you sit up?" The girl asked.
Parker nodded but mentally she was crying. One, because of the pain, 2, because why does the pretty girl have to see her now of all the possible opportunities. Not when she was bench pressing her own weight, not when she was doing suicide sprints, not when she was doing anything remotely cool looking, it had to be now when she was partially winded. With a small groan she pressed her hand to her stomach and pulled herself up to a sitting position.
"Here." The girl said as she passed her an unopened bottle of water before sitting back on her butt, legs off to the side of her.
Parker smiled thankfully and took the time to actually look at the girl whilst she took a few swigs, she knows she looks familiar but all she can focus on right now is the girls insane body in that sports bra. She's only human.
"Thank you, for this, I mean." Parker said with a grateful smile.
"No, no problem, honestly. I was pretty much looking for a reason to take a break and hearing their physically leave your body definitely gave me one." She replied with a smile. "I'm Hailee."
Parker stuck her hand out in a friendly manner. "I'm Parker."
Hailee stuck her own hand out, grasping Parker's out stretched one and giving it a small shake and a squeeze. "Nice to meet you Parker. Probably one of the weirdest ways to meet someone, but I'll go with it."
"Personally," Parker paused to take another deep breath in, "I'd rather not make a habit of meeting people this way. I don't think my ribs could take it."
Hailee went to open her mouth to reply but was cut off by a frantic looking Sam jogging back over.
"Parker! Honey, I'm so so sorry. I looked away for literally a second." Sam apologised desperately as he placed his hand on Parker's shoulder when he crouched down. "Stupid Alex texting me about his stupid meatballs."
Parker groaned and shrugged her dads hand away. "If that's a euphemism I'm gonna be so pissed."
Sam let out a laugh as he rolled his eyes. "Not a euphemism, sadly."
"Dad!" She complained. "Will you just, uh, go and get my bag for me? Please?"
Sam nodded before placing a hand on Parker's head and ruffling her hair.
"Sorry." Parker apologised to Hailee who watched the interaction.
"No, don't be. It's cute." Hailee got up into her feet and brushed any dust off her legs. "Here, let me help." She leant down against and placed a hand on Parker's back.
Parker inwardly cringed, she's just been working out and and now she's got a stupidly hot girl touching her sweaty back. "Thanks." She used Hailee's support to stand up, letting up a breath as she got to her feet. "I swear if he's broke a rib he's explaining it to my coach." She mumbled as she rubbed her side ribs again.
Parker shifted her focus back to Hailee who was intently focussed on her, smile on her face. "Thanks again, Hailee."
"No, don't even mention it. Maybe next time I see you in here you won't be getting weights dropped on you?"
Parker smiled as she listened to Hailee talk, the girls deeper tone of voice was very relaxing. "Yeah, you'd hope so, huh?" Parker paused for a moment. "This might sound weird, but I swear I know you from somewhere, have we met before?"
Hailee bit her bottom lip and looked at the floor bashfully before looking up again to meet Parker's eyes. Hailee considered herself fairly tall, but Parker was still a couple of inches above her. "I've uhh, I've been in a few films and stuff."
Parker grimaced in embarrassment once the brunette in front of her informed her of that, instantly recognising her now. "Fuck, yeah, sorry...S..."Parker stumbled over the S letter, tying to think what her surname was exactly. "Steinfeld...right?
"That's me."
"Well, it's been a pleasure, Hailee Steinfeld." Parker felt the pain in her side started to fade. "Hopef-"
"Hey kiddo, you good to go?" Her dads voice interrupted her. Parker turned around to give her dad a small glare.
"Yeah. Yeah, dad. Coming." She turned to face Hailee again, who still had all of her attention on her. "Maybe I'll see you here again?"
Hailee nodded quickly with a smile. "Most definitely." She stated, full well she was now going to have to travel further to come to this gym rather than her usual closer local one.
Parker gave her one last smile before turning around and walking towards Sam, grabbing her t shirt from his shoulder when she reached him. "You're fucked when I snitch on your to Alex. I hope you know that."
Sam rolled his eyes. "Was that lesbian flirting over there? It looked like lesbian flirting."
Hello yes it's me, starting yes another story. I've legit consulted people on this and decided to go for it. For those of you who read Our Song, this story runs alongside it, it's the same universe and both characters will more than likely feature in both stories. However, it's not essential you read Our Song. You may find that one book gets an influx of chapters whilst one hasn't been updated - please don't fret, both will be updated when they're ready. But one story may have my attention more at one set point.
This story is g!p, don't like it, don't read. But it's how I pictured it from the get go.
As always, stay safe, I love you all.
