Chapter 19

The one with the grump.

You're my captain. (Hailee Steinfeld)

"Good morning, baby." Hailee whispered in her sleeping girlfriends ear before placing soft kisses on her jawline. She felt Parker's arm wrapping around her straight away and trying to pull her back into her before her hand started patting Hailee's back. She opened one eye with a frown, confusion taking over when she found her fully clothed girlfriend laying next to her.

"What?" Parker mumbled, confused and not quite awake. She turned her head and lifted her phone up from her bedside table, groaning and throwing her arms down when she seen the time. "It's 6:30! We went to sleep like 3 hours ago." She whined.

Hailee laighed softly before bringing her hand up to run across Parker's cheeks. "I know, but I've gotta go to set, remember? I didn't wanna leave without saying bye."

Parker opened one eye again to observe her girlfriend. "But it's 6:30." She repeated, this time rolling over so her head was in Hailee's lap, burying her head into her stomach.

"I know, bug. And you're making it really hard to leave." Hailee said in a quiet voice, not wanting to wake Parker up to the point where she won't get back to sleep. "But I'm gonna FaceTime you later, and then tomorrow I'm gonna take you out, okay?"

"Mmm, and I can sleep till then?" Parker asked, Hailee not sure if she was actually asking permission or if she was just out of it.

"Yeah baby, you sleep till then. I'll call you and wake you up in a few hours, yeah?" Hailee responded as she ran her fingers through Parker's hair, allowing her nails to scratch her scalp.

"Bet. Night." Parker mumbled before rolling off Hailee's lap and into her pillow.

"If this is gonna end up being a reoccurring pattern can you give me a heads up?" Parker groaned into the her phones microphone, knowing it was Hailee ringing her to wake her up.

"Bug, it's FaceTime." Hailee said with a giggle as she looked at her girlfriends ear. She heard Parker take in a small breath before appearing on screen. "Hey!"

"Hi."

"You're grumpy in the mornings." Hailee noted with a grin. "It's cute."

Parker didn't take her on, instead rubbing her hand over her face and standing up, phone still clutched in her hand. "How's your day?"

"It's okay, I'm just tired. Someone kept me awake last night." Hailee said as she winked at Parkers confused face.

"You were the one who wanted to cook churros at 2 in the morning." Parker replied as if it was obvious.

"Yeah, well you agreed. Know better." Hailee let out a laugh as she spoke. "I'm gonna go eat my lunch, okay? Have a good day, I'll speak to you later. If you need me at all please just ring me, I'm gonna keep my phone on set."

"Okay, thanks for...y'know, taking care of me and stuff. Have a good day." Parker said with a a smile, waving as Hailee blew a kiss at the phone before hanging up.

Parker threw her phone into her worktop before pouring herself a bowl of cereal and leaning against the breakfast bar, keeping her weight on her good leg.

She couldn't help but think back to last night with Hailee. They spent the evening doing both everything and nothing at the same time. After their bath Hailee had wanted Parker to finish watching Snakes On A Plane, but she insisted the movie is tainted for her now. Instead, they decided to watch garbage TV, only really using it as background noise as they spent the whole time talking anyways. They discussed their families, their likes and dislikes, whatever they wanted too, the world was theirs. At some point Hailee had decided she wanted Churros so they found a recipe online and decided to make them together. Parker had quickly learned that Hailee is good to look at in the kitchen as long as she's not actually cooking. When they'd gone to bed, they lay down in each other's arms, letting the silence fill the air, just happy in each other's presence. At some point Hailee had reached across and placed her lips to Parkers and the two layer there repeating the process of planting soft kisses on each other's lips.

To Parker it was heaven. Hailee was making her feel loved without even knowing it.

She eyed the dishes in the sink that needed washing before deciding they're a future Parker's job. Instead, she hopped along to her sofa, silently thanking Hailee last night for laying out a bottle of water next to her painkillers. She popped the tablet and took a gulp of water before leaning back against the back of the couch. Her thoughts cast to Sunday dinner as the feeling of dread goes through her stomach. She has nothing to hide, but Alex and Sam are something else. They're bound to say something embarrassing.

"Honey, it's me!" Speak of the devil, Parker thought as she heard her dads voice echo through her doorway as he used his emergency key to let himself in.

"You know, if you shout that as you come in, it still counts as showing up unannounced." Parker complained. "If you see something you don't want to see one day, it's fully on you." Parker heard Sam scoff as he placed a bag of groceries down on the counter. "Rude." She muttered.

"I'm only here to drop these off," Sam said as he walked forward and patted Parker's head quickly. "Alex is timing me because he thinks I'm getting Subway when I go to the store without him.

"But you do get Subway without him?"

Sam turned to face Parker as he headed to the door. "What he doesn't know won't hurt him. You have no idea of the shit he makes me eat. Last night, we had mushroom steak. Mushroom steak. It was literally one big fuck off mushroom that he sliced and cooked." Sam said as he fake gagged.

Parker grinned, knowing she sent the video of the mushroom steak to Alex on Facebook.

That was for dropping a medicine ball on her.

Gotta respect Parker playing the long game there ahaha. Date night is next, oh I do wonder what will happen 👀
