Bria POV:

" mummy mi aguh stop a library afta school todeh , suh mi nah guh reach home until afta 5" I said to my mom as I was about to leave with my father for school .

" ok, just mek sure yuh reach here before 5:20 " she replied and I left with my dad for school.

" suh a wah kind a camera yuh parents dem get install?" Mikayla asked while we were in Science class that morning. The teacher was either running late or not coming so everybody was busy doing their own thing .

" just two camera outside and eh sumuh pon eh door " I answered . We then changed the topic to something else and I mentioned to her about Trish's cousin Chris and how he wouldn't stop texting me or calling even after I blocked him .

" jeez , talk bout having no shame . Plus him anuh Christian? him nuh know seh him supposed to wait pon God fi send him wah wife ?" Mikayla said and I shrugged,

" honestly mi just tired but, as long as him nuh try nuhun wid mi, mi good " .

At lunch Trish told us about some guy that she had a crush on and was talking to saying his name was Tray and that she really liked him but, when she told us he wasn't in school but, an adult 19 years of age and that she was going to meet him later after school when we go to the library, Mikayla and I exchanged a look.

" yuh sure bout this ? doh get mi wrong , am not judging but, mi think a study wi aguh fi study and  just hang out fi awhile , because exams start next week Monday" Mikayla said and I added ,

" exactly and my parents dem well known and mi nuh wah dem si yuh a interact wid nuh big man and guh feel like a that mi a do to because dem know yuh Trish especially since yuh come a wi church. Yuh know seh dem have this saying weh seh  show mi yuh friends and ..."

" mi wi show yuh who yuh are " Mikayla completed and I nodded.

" anuh like a unu aguh meet up wid him ,  a just me . All unu affi do a stay inna the library and me will guh outside guh meet him and talk to him . If nobody seh nuhun to unu parents bout mi a bad influence or anything like that then mi will tek eh blame but, mi really wah meet him because him nice and we have been talking for awhile almost a month and we haven't met in person yet" , Trish stated pleadingly and Mikayla and I sighed.

" ok a your life and wi cah tell yuh how fi live it but, just be smart and think bout weh yah do before yuh dweet" I said and she nodded , a smile on her face .

Later on after school we went to the library but, before we went in we waited a little way down the road from the library for Trish's boyfriend Tray. I didn't feel comfortable with the situation because alot of people from the community  , especially from in the town knew my face and who my parents were, and even though I hadn't lied to my parents about where I was going after school, it just didn't feel right standing at some street corner waiting for a man and I could tell by the cross and uncomfortable look on Mikayla's face that she wasn't comfortable either .

Finally a black Axio came to a stop right beside us , pulling off the road and the driver's window rolled down to reveal a rather too cute young boy . He was dark skin with coolie hair that was cornrowed in a neat style and light brown eyes and when he smiled , he revealed dimples in his cheeks and perfectly white teeth , he was really giving that cute jamaican bad boy vibes.

" fawod nuh b, a yuh fren dem yah?" He questioned and Trish who seemed to have gone in a daze nodded blushing as she said ," yes ".

" um Trish mi nuh sure bout..." I started to say but, her boyfriend smiled as he interrupted me saying,

" she good man,nuh worry unu head bout har . Just aguh carry har guh get anything she need and fawod back " .

Trish turned to us and I wanted to protest because I didn't want my friend to go with a man she was meeting for the first time , relationship or not . I wasn't even aware that he drove but, by the surprise look on Trish's face when he pulled up , I concluded that she didn't know either.

Coming closer to us she whispered

" if mi nuh come back by 4:30 and yah call mi and mi nuh ansa , call eh police and tell dem him name Trayvahn Campbell . His address is in my dairy at home inside my panty drawer on my dresser " , and then before either Mikayla or I could say anything, she opened the front passenger door and climb in and he pulled away , heading up the road .

" well , at least mi get the license plate number suh him try nuh try nuhun" , Mikayla said as she replaced her phone in the pocket of her uniform skirt.  Shaking my head , we both turned and headed for the library and once inside we made ourselves comfortable at one of the tables and started studying,  Mikayla English and Human and Social Biology for me .

About half an hour into studying and quizzing each other to ensure we were retaining the information, I checked the time and saw that it was 4:20 .

" wi figet fi buy Starbucks ", I said suddenly and Mikayla shrugged,

" honestly never remember since Trish news a man a come meet har shock everything else out a mi mind ".

" the fact seh she actually lef wid him, yuh think we shoulda try fi stop har ?" I asked worriedly .

" how ? Afta wi couldn't grab har and hold har dung , Trish a 17 and cah more than mek sensible decisions. Personally mi woulda neva guh inna nuhbody car weh mi a meet up wid fi eh first time but, a fi har life " .

"True " I said then decided to change the topic asking her how she felt about the subjects she had choosen to sit the exam for .

" honestly mi confident inna Spanish, Human and Social Biology,  English and eh rest a them, except fi maths and Information Technology. Mi affi guh be well prepared fi dem deh " she replied.

" same, except mi a worry bout Chemistry and Physics " , I stated.

" Nuh mek the whole pressure from being head girl and from yuh parents dem get to yuh head , just do weh you haffi do and mek yuhslef proud , all if yuh get wah 3 inna none a dem a still wah pass Bria , cause best believe mi nah resist none if mi get nuh 3. Mi a tek it and satisfy "  she said and I smiled but, I knew that I couldn't get a 3 , I had to get either all 1ones or 1ones and 2twos nothing less .

" unu deeven check eh time " a voice said and we looked around to see Trish coming into the library, a KFC bag in one hand and a shopping bag in the other .

" oh , suh a dem life here you wah live ?" Mikayla asked and Trish rolled her eyes as she set the bags down on the table and I added ,

" sorry wi did busy a discuss exams" .

"Exactly because a that wi come a library fi do and wi nuh have man weh drive Axio a pick wi up and a carry wi guh KFC" Mikayla added and Trish laughed knowing Mikayla was just being her usual sarcastic self .

" well , at least mi alive and well and him actually really nice . Mi not even ask him fi nuhun. Him just buy mi food because him seh any woman him have affi eat always and then wi guh a wah boutique and him tell mi fi pick up any likkle things weh mi like or want ", she said and Mikayla opened the shopping bag and peered inside.

" mi si 3 a the same cologne and a wah this ...", she pulled what appeard to be a thin lacy black cloth almost fully out of the bag but, Trish stopped her hurriedly as she pushed the material back into the bag and I looked at her , my eyes widening as I realised what she may have just stopped Mikayla from discovering.

" Mikayla stay out a big people business" I said and Mikayla laughed as she too finally understood.

" right, si true mi an you a still PG13" and Trish blushed as she said ,

" the colognes are for the three of us" .

" awww that's sweet" I said and Mikayla added, " fi real, unless a tru yah try sweet wi up fi mek yuh guh back wid him wah next time,  mi a tell yuh from now is a no . Anything yah do afta this yuh deh pon yuh own " and Trish nodded.

" ok but,unu know unu love mi enuh " and Mikayla hiss her teeth but, smiled as Trish sat down and together while sharing the KFC Trish had bought, we finished studying and left the library around 5.
