Bria POV

I awoke the next morning to chaos or to put it more accurately to someone pounding on my room door . Getting out of bed , I stumbled , still half asleep to the door and opened it to a very concerned Trish with wide eyes.

" Bria, yuh si Chris since last night?", she asked her voice hopeful but, the moment I shook my head , her face fell in despair.

" wait,  a wah happen ? Him nuh inna him room?" , I asked more confused than concern because right now I didn't want to see him much less speak to him  after what he did last night .

" no , him did suppose to lef fi class this morning  early becsuse him have wah exam and mummy sen mi fi guh wake him but, him neva ansa him door and when mi check him room,  him nuh in there and usually him keep him door lock suh eh weird seh him even lef it open ", she replied turning around to go back downstairs.

" wait Trish ! Him did do sumuh last night" , I said as I followed behind her and she paused on the stairs looking at me curious.

" weh him do?" , she asked and I then preceeded to tell her all that transpired last night including him force kissing me .

" wah the hell? Why him do that ? , am sorry Bria , if mi did know mi woulda set him straight but, that weird because mi neva know seh him even a look pon yuh inna dah way deh. Suh him did come back inna the house afta that?"

I shrugged, " honestly mi nuh sure because mi did really upset suh mi just push him weh and come in and guh inna mi room ".

" mummy call mi aunty who a fi him mada and she seh him nuh come home and everybody a try call him but, nuhbody nah get through to him, him phone just a guh straight to voicemail", she said .

" maybe him just upset wid wah happen last night and deh a some fren house or sumuh . Anyways a wah time cause wi have school 9 a clock " , I said.

" a just 8 a clock but , yuh cah guh get ready . Mi aguh talk to mummy " , she said continuing down the stairs and I turned around and headed back up to my room. I wasn't concerned primarily for Chris because I was still disgusted with his behaviour especially with the fact that he was supposed to be a Christian and set an example but, I was concerned for Trish and her parents and I hoped for their sake he answers his phone or they find him wherever he is .

I got ready for school and later Trish's mom dropped us off and we made our way to devotion and then to our class to sit the physics exam . At lunch we met up with Mickayla who was cursing herself for choosing some wrong answers on her exam paper out of anxiety.

" yuh mummy hear from him yet?", I asked Trish who was texting rapidly on her phone,  ignoring the patty and box drink she bought for lunch .

" no and she seh him mada call up a the school and him nuh di deh and him phone still aguh to voicemail " , she replied and Mickayla looked between us confusion on her face.

" a wah happen? ", She asked and so I told her everything from last night to this morning and she looked at Trish sympethic.

" sorry fi hear that but, mi nuh think nuhun do him . Mi feel seh him just upset because Bria push him weh and him hurt , suh him maybe deh a some feen house or sumuh", she replied but, Trish shook her head .

" Chris have him ways but, him really wah complete him business degree.  Worse him mada and him pay suh much money fi him study. If him nuh come home by tonight and nuhbody nuh hear nuhun from him , wi affi guh guh down a station guh report him missing".

" hopefully eh nuh come to that ", I said and Trish sighed  and then smiling she said , " suh exam a finish this Friday and wi aguh start practice fi graduation, plus yuh birthday a come up next week girl, big 17pon dem enuh" , she said pushing me with her shoulder and I smiled .

" suh weh yah plan fi do ?" , Mickayla asked and I shrugged.

" honestly mi deveen know,  a mean mi nuh feel up to having a dinner . Maybe wi cah just guh a wah beach and eat some food , sumuh simple ", I replied and they exchanged a look and then Trish said ," a your birthday enuh babes, anything you feel comfortable wid a that wi a work wid" and Mickayla nodded in agreement and then the bell rang signalling the end of lunch and paper 2 of physics.

That night I texted Trish asking if she had heard from Chris and when she replied no and that he has officially been reported missing, I actually started to worry a little and even though I didn't want to,I called his phone but, it went ro voicemail and I sent a text to him telling him that everyone was concerned for him and that I would be willing to pretend like what he did never happened if he just answers his phone but, the message just received only one tick.

That night the police also came to speak to me since Trish told them what I told her and I just reapeated everything that I already told her to them, and then they took my phone explaining that they just needed to search it for precaution and also to confirm my story and that's when I actually realised how serious this was actually becoming especially after the whole week ended without a sign or word from him and eventually the police returned my phone to me but, I could see that it was taking a toll on Trish because she barely came to graduation practice which had started the following Monday.

One day before my birthday after graduation practice and I stood waiting for a taxi with Mickayla I asked her ,

" yuh think him dead?"

" mi nuh know enuh, a mean him missing fi one whole week now and today aguh mek 1 week and add but,  mi hope dem find him alive. Bwoy Chris have some dirty ways but, him and Trish close as cousins suh mi hope him alive at least fi,  fi har sake " , she replied and I nodded,

" mi hope suh to . She barely even text me and mi deveen know how it aguh guh wid tommrow and eh whole day weh wid did plan because mi nuh wah force har fi come wid wi  wid everything weh a gwaan wid har " .

" understand but, a still yuh birthday and yuh deserve fi celebrate it . Mi aguh call har and talk to har , head weh she seh . If anything wi yuh just celebrate yuh birthday same way , she will understand " , she said and same time a taxi stopped and we got in .
