Chapter 127
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
Chapter 127 It Is Time You Give Up
Ysabelle was so shocked that her jaw almost hit the ground. Uncle Tristan actually promised to sing for
Sophie!
Casting her mind back, she seemingly couldnât remember ever hearing Tristan sing.
âDonât force yourself, Uncle Tristan.â She felt utterly petrified.
Hearing that, Tristan swept a gaze over her. What does she mean by that? Am I not allowed to sing?
âAll right, in that case, Iâll book a private room for us!â Felix volunteered himself for that task.
He knew that Ysabelle had always loved to sing.
Honestly, he was exceedingly supportive of that. No matter what she did, he would support her. Alas,
her parents didnât think the same.
âWinter, go home first if you donât want to go. Else, I can drive you home first before making a trip
back,â Charles murmured thoughtfully. Why must she do this to herself? Sheâs downright asking for it!
âNo, Iâll go with you all! I donât want to be alone, Charles!â Winter was willing to go anywhere as long as
she could stay a while longer with Tristan. Hence, she couldnât possibly bear to leave first.
âIn that case, letâs go!â
When they went out to foot the bill, Tristan handed his black card to Sophie.
Sophie was stunned for a moment as she stared at the card in her hand. What is he doing?
âWhatâs the meaning of this? I donât quite get it.â Could it be because my IQ had dropped recently?
âDidnât you say that itâs your treat tonight?â The meal today must have cost quite a huge sum, no?
At once, Sophieâs eyes went wide. Donât tell me I canât even afford to treat them to a meal in his eyes?
It turns out that Iâm so pitiful to him, huh?
Naturally, Winter noticed Tristanâs action and couldnât help snickering.
Hah! If she doesnât have the money, she shouldnât have boasted! All of us here can afford to pay for
this meal!
âHow about I foot the bill instead?â She went over to the counter and whipped out her card.
Immediately, Tristan frowned. Whatâs the meaning of her doing this?
Sophie walked over as well, taking out her card and handing it to the cashier directly.
Seeing that, Winter grew impatient.
âIâm aware of the Tanner familyâs current situation, Ms. Tanner.â In other words, she was saying that
Sophie couldnât afford to pay for that meal.
âWinter!â Ysabelle couldnât bring herself to listen any further. Indeed, the Quigley family is one of the
four prominent families. But still, she canât look down on others like this!
However, Winter merely shrugged.
âI donât mean anything. I merely hope that Ms. Tanner doesnât need to lower her standard of living
because of us. That wouldnât be good. Am I not right?â
âHow could you say that?â Ysabelle saw red. How could she say that about Sophie?
âA personâs value is created by herself. I donât want to rely on the Tanner family. I can obtain everything
I want through my own efforts. Iâm different from you, Ms. Quigley.â
Actually, she really didnât want to say that, but Winter forced her hand.
âThatâs enough! I think you should go home first, Winter!â Charles interjected swiftly. She has really
gone too far this time, so I canât help her either.
âCharles, I didnât say anything, did I? Iâm just doing this for her good. Verily, thereâs no need for her to
satisfy her vanity by passing off as something sheâs not.â Simply put, Winter looked down on the Tanner
family.
Displeasure deluged Tristan. No matter the reason, he didnât want to hear anyone putting Sophie down
in that manner.
âIn your eyes, Winter, is the Lombard family not worthy of dining with you? And are you saying that my
girlfriend canât even afford to treat you to a meal?â
Never had Winter expected him to tear into her like that because of Sophie.
âI didnât mean anything, Mr. Tristan.â Despite feeling aggrieved, she still apologized since she wanted to
join them instead of going back alone.
By then, the cashier was done collecting the payment and handed Sophieâs card back to her.
âDrive Winter home first, Charles. Since she doesnât like to be with us, she doesnât need to join us
anymore in the future.â Ultimately, Tristan still sentenced Winter for her misdeed.
âIâm sorry, Mr. Tristan.â Winter instantly apologized. No matter how dissatisfied she was, she didnât dare
to challenge the man.
âSend her back, Charles!â Tristan didnât want to waste any more time on her.
In a trice, Winterâs eyes turned red-rimmed. She was a strong career woman in the outside world, but
before him, she was merely a weak woman who adored him.
All her perseverance and facade were only for the sake of being with him.
Helplessness swamped Charles. I have already told her not to provoke Sophie, but she just wouldnât
listen!
At the sight of Winter on the verge of tears, Ysabelleâs heart softened. After all, they always hung out
together in the past.
âLet Winter tag along with us, Uncle Tristan! Itâll be more fun with more people!â she implored on
Winterâs behalf.
âLetâs bring her along!â Sean seconded.
Even with so many of them speaking up for Winter, Tristan still looked at Sophie. If she doesnât agree,
no amount of pleading will work!
Upon seeing that everyone was looking at her, Sophie shrugged nonchalantly.
âI donât mind.â It didnât matter to her whether Winter went with them, for she was inconsequential in her
eyes.
âThis is your only chance.â Tristan didnât even bother to spare Winter a single glance.
âLetâs go!â Meanwhile, Charles was wholly speechless. Once a woman falls in love, she becomes
foolish no matter how intelligent and capable she is!
Winter trailed behind the man quietly.
âCharles, Iââ
âDonât say anything. Remember my wordsâdo not provoke Sophie.â That is enough. As for the rest, I
canât be bothered anymore.
Winterâs hands balled into fists.
In the past, they only brought me along when they came out. Iâd always thought I was special to
Tristan, but I never expected myself to be no one of significance to him. That little slut is really adept at
bewitching others!
Felix and Sean went ahead with Ysabelle, leaving only Tristan with Sophie in the end.
âMr. Tristan, you didnât have to do that because of me.â
âIt was necessary. No matter who it is, no one can pick on you.â
Furthermore, it was just Winter. Iâm never bothered about her.
When they went out, they saw Mason and Willow, who had been waiting outside.
Sophieâs brows knitted together. Truly, she didnât believe that it was a coincidence.
So, whatâs her motive in doing everything possible to get him here?
The instant Willow spotted Sophie coming out with the man, glee filled her.
With things having come to this point, Mason will likely give up, yes? Witnessing Sophie with another
man, Mason couldnât help eyeing Willow.
Did she call me over just to have me watch this scene?
At the look in his eyes, Willow inexorably defended herself. âMason, I had no idea that Sophie is here
as well. How would I have such great capability to know that sheâs also here?â
Tristan swept his gaze over the man across from them, but he said nothing.
âLetâs go!â
Ysabelle and the others had all left. Is there any need for us to tarry here because of two insignificant
people?
âOkay.â
He was relatively satisfied with her response.
This is precisely what we should do! In the face of an inconsequential person, we should just ignore
them.
Watching as Sophie walked right past him, Mason felt utterly wretched.
It wasnât until she had gotten into the car that he gathered his wits about him.
Noticing that he wanted to leave, Willow promptly grabbed his hand.
âItâs time you give up, Mason! Thereâs no longer a place for you by her side.â
