Chapter 329
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
âClayton, we donât need to be scared. If you like her, you can make her yours even if she is Mr.
Tristanâs woman.â
Wilbur was, naturally, terrified of Tristan too.
After all, the mere mention of Tristanâs name was intimidating enough. There was no way he wouldnât
be scared of Tristan.
âIs that so?â Clayton glanced at his assistant. Is he trying to get me in trouble?
He continued, âIt wouldnât be a problem if she comes with us of her own free will, but do you think Mr.
Tristan will let the matter slide if you force Sophie to come with us?â Why am I always surrounded by
incompetent people? What a good-for-nothing.
Wilbur kept mum, not daring to say anything else.
I should just shut up. After all, we would suffer too if we make Mr. Zales upset.
However, unbeknownst to Clayton, those actions of his would once again bring him bad luck and keep
him busy for a long while.
Sophie didnât feel like dealing with the man face to face, but she had countless tricks up her sleeve to
cause him misery behind his back.
Amusingly, Clayton still had no idea what was going on even when he was about to be tormented by
Sophie. It was pathetic of him.
As they headed outside, Ysabelle grabbed Sophieâs arm. âSophie, this man is way out of line. I can see
that he has ill intentions. Should we tell Uncle Tristan about this?â
Clayton had a nasty reputation in Jipsdale. He would do anything in his power to get the things he
wanted. Countless women had already suffered at his hands.
Ysabelle went on, âItâs evident that heâs targeting The Wheelers, and theyâre going to release their new
album soon. It would be hard for things to go smoothly if Clayton pulls the strings from behind.â
Since Uncle Tristan and Sophie are in a relationship now, itâs no big deal for her to ask for Uncle
Tristanâs help, right?
âYsabelle, youâve been really smart lately,â Sophie joked as she caressed her friendâs head.
âSophie, Iâm being serious, okay? Clayton is not an easy man to deal with. He has many dirty tricks up
his sleeves. I know you are a capable woman, but we are nothing compared to someone like him.â
Some people preferred to deal with their enemies behind their backs instead of going up against them
straightforwardly. That was what made them so terrifying.
Sophie chuckled when she saw how worried Ysabelle was. âIâm serious, Ysabelle. You donât need to
worry about these things. I donât care if they do something to me behind my back or to my face. Either
way, Iâm not scared, okay? Donât worry!â
It was impossible for Ysabelle to relax. She retorted, âSophie, why are you being so difficult? Listen to
me, okay? Let Uncle Tristan handle this. He will definitely be able to deal with it. You have to believe in
him. Now that he is your boyfriend, how can you not ask him to help you? I know you are an
independent girl, but itâs okay to rely on your boyfriend once in a while.â
Besides that, Iâm sure Uncle Tristan would want Sophie to rely on him.
âYsabelle, to me, having a boyfriend does not mean I have to depend on him. Plus, this is something
that I can handle. Why would I want to trouble him? He already has his hands full.â
Ysabelle didnât know how to explain the situation to Sophie upon hearing the latterâs words.
Does she have to be so rational while being in a relationship?
âSophie, can I ask you a question?â
âAsk away!â
âDo you really fancy Uncle Tristan? No, wait. Do you really love him?â
If Sophie really loved Tristan, she wouldnât have considered herself a trouble to Tristan.
âI do.â Sophie had nothing to hide, for she really did love Tristan.
Ysabelle was confused. âYour way of being in love is different from the people around me.â
âYsabelle, youâve never been in a relationship before. How do you know how it feels to be in love?
People have different personalities, so their way of loving one another naturally varies.â Even though
dating Tristan was Sophieâs first official relationship as well, she didnât see anything wrong with how
she handled it.
âAll right, then,â Ysabelle gave in. After all, she had never been in a relationship before.
The two of them got into Markâs car.
When Sunny saw Sophie, he asked worriedly, âSophie, are you okay? You donât have to compromise
for us. We donât want to be a burden to you. We are not afraid even if Clayton wants to do something to
us. However, if anything happens to you, weâll feel bad for the rest of our lives!â
Clayton was a vile man, and there was nothing that he wouldnât do. Besides, the look in his eyes when
he stared at Sophie was too aggressive.
âSunny, Iâm fine. You can relax! He wouldnât dare to do anything to me. He doesnât have the time to do
anything to me either.â
Knowing that they were worried about her, Sophie patiently explained the situation to them, which was
something she seldom did.
After a long moment of silence, Mark spoke. âSophie, you donât have to hold back for us, okay? Weâre
not afraid even if we lose everything.â
The Wheelers were aware of Claytonâs character after working under him for a long time.
Sophie said, âIt seems like Clayton had traumatized you guys. However, you guys can relax. I wonât
hold back because of you. I will only become stronger for your sake!â
Sophie was satisfied with her current state.
If this had happened in the past, she would be helpless when her friends were bullied.
However, it was different now. At present, Sophie could confidently tell her friends that she could
protect them while keeping herself safe and unscathed at the same time.
âWhy donât you send us back to Wisteria Apartments first?â It was late, and it was pointless to go for
night tuition since it would end in another half an hour.
Mark then personally drove them back to Wisteria Apartments. After they reached the underground
parking lot, Sophie and Ysabelle got off.
âOkay. You guys can head home now. Rest early. Weâll be busy for the next couple of weeks, so you
guys better prepare yourselves mentally.â
Even though Sophie didnât want to be a capitalist, one had to work at a fast pace in the entertainment
industry, for newcomers tended to replace old-timers rapidly.
âSophie, you got to remember this. If Clayton comes looking for you, you have to let us know. No
matter what happens, we will protect you!â
Sophie was the only woman in The Wheelers. She was like a kid sister to them, and they treated her
like a princess. None of them wished to see her getting hurt.
Sophie was exasperated, for she didnât understand why they didnât trust her after everything she said.
âOkay. I got it. If anything happens, I will call you guys.â Is this answer enough to satisfy them?
âAll right.â Sunny finally felt relieved upon hearing Sophieâs response.
Mark remarked, âGo on into the elevator first. Call us once you step into the apartment, and weâll leave
after that.â
âOkay.â Sophie didnât object as she went up with Ysabelle.
When they got upstairs and entered the unit, they found Tristan sitting on the couch. On the tabletop
was the takeout he ordered.
