Chapter 435
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
âMr. Zales?â The director froze momentarily, and he shook his head. âItâs no use even if youâre his
fiancée. Mr. Zales is nothing compared to Mr. Tristan,â he said straightforwardly.
Willow fell into despair.
The nurse then brought Willow to a room with three patients in it. When the three middle-aged women
noticed her, they flashed her silly smiles, which gave her goosebumps.
After leaving Willow in the room, the nurse walked out and shut the door.
âLet me out!â The former banged on the door in a frenzied manner.
However, no one responded to her cries.
âWow. This young lady is so pretty. Come play with me!â
Willow kept backing away. âWhat are you doing? Stop where you are. Iâm warning you. Donât come
near!â
âThe flower on her head is so pretty!â
Seeing the ribbon on Willowâs head, one of the middle-aged women hurried forward, pulled her close,
and snatched it off her head.
âHer dress is pretty, too. I want it!â Another woman tugged at Willowâs dress so hard that she almost
tore it off.
âAh! What are you people doing? Let me go! Let me go! Do you hear me?â The room echoed with
Willowâs cries of despair.
Unfortunately, those women with mental disorders were, naturally, oblivious to her cries.
Meanwhile, Tristan had arrived at TS Entertainment.
However, the security guards did not know who he was, so they stopped him from entering.
âIâm sorry. You canât enter without an employee ID,â they informed him. They did not dare to offend
Tristan when they saw how he was dressed in premium-looking clothes, but it was their responsibility to
keep strangers out. Thus, they had to adhere to the protocol strictly.
âIâm here to see your CEO,â said Tristan.
He never expected there would be a place he would be denied entry.
âThere are many people who come looking for our CEO. Why donât you give Ms. Tanner a call and get
her to come down to bring you in?â
Not wanting to make things difficult for the guards, Tristan immediately gave Sophie a call. However,
she seemed to be occupied and did not answer her phone.
By the time Sophieâs meeting had ended, half an hour had passed. After checking her phone for
notifications, she gave Tristan a call. âWhatâs up?â
âIâm outside your company, but I canât get in.â
âWhat?â Sophie asked in surprise. She had never heard of Tristan being denied entry to a place.
âYour companyâs security guards told me I should ask you to come down and bring me in.â
âAll right. Iâll be right over.â Sophie walked out of the conference room and headed downstairs.
Sure enough, she saw Tristan at the door the moment she arrived.
âWhy did you come here all of a sudden?â she questioned. He shouldâve informed me earlier. Oh my.
He mustâve wasted a lot of time waiting here.
âI missed you, so I came here to see you.â
As Sophie brought him in, she said to the security guards, âThis is my boyfriend. You can let him in if he
comes looking for me the next time.â
âOkay, Ms. Tanner,â responded the security guards respectfully.
âGood job, by the way. All of you will be given a raise of one thousand.â
Even though they were mere security guards of the company, they had to be the best.
If they werenât the best, they had to at least carry out their duty well, which was something they did
perfectly that day.
All the security guards were delighted to hear about the raise.
âThank you, Ms. Tanner. We were just doing our job.â
âGood. Continue to do your best,â Sophie encouraged.
They played very important roles as the security guards of TS Entertainment.
âAll right, Ms. Tanner. Thank you once again.â The security guards bowed in unison.
âItâs what you deserve.â With that, she headed upstairs with Tristan.
The man joked, âWow. Youâre such a generous person, Ms. Tanner. You seem to be in a good mood
today.â
âOh, itâs nothing. Iâm just rewarding them for their hard work. Besides, Iâm strict with my employees.
Everything they receive is just what they deserve,â Sophie explained.
Although she had strict requirements, her employees were never given a low wage.
Soon, the couple arrived at Sophieâs office.
Of course, her office was not as grand as Tristanâs, but the interior design was simple and refreshing.
She liked the style quite a lot.
After settling down, she poured Tristan a glass of water.
âCarry on with your work. Iâm just here to keep you company,â Tristan said. He did not want her work to
be affected just because of his presence.
Right then, Xandra walked in and was slightly taken aback to see Tristan sitting on the couch.
Why is Mr. Tristan here?
âUm⦠Did I interrupt anything? I can leave first if Iâm being a disturbance.â
Hearing that, Sophie said, âNo, not at all. By the way, I need you to keep an eye on the entire flow of
the concert.â
âHuh? Itâs just a concert. Why should I do that? Whatâs wrong? Is there a problem?â Xandra asked.
Iâm just a PR manager. Why should I keep an eye on the concert?
âThereâs a little problem.â
âWhat is it?â That was the first time Xandra saw Sophie looking this solemn. Hence, she was curious to
find out what had happened.
âItâs Mark. He wants to leave The Wheelers.â
âWhat?â Xandra exclaimed. As expected, itâs something big. âWhen did he say that? Why does he want
to leave? Heâs the soul of The Wheelers. Itâs meaningless for the band to carry on if he leaves. Iâm not
saying the other members arenât good. Itâs just that itâs hard for the band to continue without their core
member. Especially when heâs the lead singer.â
âI know.â
âHave you talked to Mark about this?â asked Xandra. Theyâre good friends, right? Iâm sure they can talk
this out.
âI have, but he refuses to tell me anything,â answered Sophie. There was nothing she could do about
the matter.
After a moment of silence, Xandra said, âOur company has just launched, and weâre already facing
such a problem. This isnât going to be easy to deal with. The Wheelers is totally off the charts now. If
they disband now, their fans will blame it on us.â
âThatâs why I need you to keep an eye on the concert. Itâll be fine with you there, right?â Sophie said
with a smile.
She needed all hands on deck as a precaution, no matter what.
If Mark insisted on leaving when the time came, they would have no choice but to bear with the
aftermath.
âTsk. I shouldnât have said yes to you in the beginning. I couldâve been enjoying my holiday now,â
complained Xandra. She had been dealing with all kinds of problems ever since she got back.
âThere, there. Iâll treat you to a meal once this is over.â
âSince when did you become such a cheapskate? How could you pay me back with just a meal?â
âI can make it two mealsâor threeâif thatâs not enough.â
âAll right. Iâll keep an eye on the concert. Donât worry. Iâll handle it.â The concert would be fine as long
as Xandra was there.
Right then, someone knocked on the door.
âCome in!â
Upon hearing that, Cecelia entered the room.
The problem with her contract was already settled, which meant she was currently an artist at TS
Entertainment.
âYouâre amazing, Sophie. I canât believe you successfully dealt with my ex-boss when heâs such a
tough nut. Youâre truly a good friend of mine,â Cecelia said with admiration.
