Chapter 692
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
The man in the black T-shirt was downright petrified. He had worked for Nicholas for quite some time
and knew Sophieâs importance to the man. Not daring to take things lightly, he immediately gave
Nicholas a call.
Glancing around, Arius ascertained that no one was around before whipping out a small syringe and
jabbing it into the manâs neck without warning.
âWhat are youâ¦â
Arius struck at lightning speed, so fast that the man in the black T-shirt hadnât any time to react.
The substance in the syringe was meant to make someoneâs body stiff and rob the person of mobility.
For that reason, the man in the black T-shirt was still cognizant of everything around him but lacked the
ability to speak or move.
âLet me give you some advice, young man! Youâre still in the prime of your life, so youâve got to choose
a good boss, you know? Nicholas is evil to the core. Thereâs no future in working for someone like him.â
While speaking, Arius unhurriedly took the phone out of the manâs hand.
Then, he added, âYouâd best leave quickly when this matter is over. Otherwise, youâd be dead before
you even know it. Iâm truly warning you out of the kindness of my heart.â
After saying all that, he circumvented the surveillance cameras and went back into the room.
Only when he had done so did he remember that he had forgotten Tristanâs phone number.
Nonetheless, he was too embarrassed to admit it.
Itâs just ten digits, yet I canât remember them. Ugh! Itâd be pretty mortifying for me to confess to that.
âWhatâs wrong? Youâve already gotten a phone, so hurry up and make the call!â Barney couldnât help
urging. Once weâre discovered, itâd be too late!
âI donât remember Tristanâs phone number anymore.â Arius gazed at Sophie helplessly.
At that, Sophie couldnât resist scoffing. âWhatâs the use of you? Youâre a genius doctor, yet you canât
even remember a phone number!â
âLet me tell you this, Sophie! You canât forget yourself! Who am I here for? Besides, who is Tristan to
me? Why must I remember his phone number?â Is that even necessary?
Subsequently, Sophie recited ten digits.
Arius instantly went over and made the call.
No sooner was the call connected than Tristan questioned urgently, âHowâs Sophie? Hand the phone to
her.â
Arius fell silent, promptly rendered speechless.
Still, he handed the phone to Sophie.
âAre you okay, Sophie? Did he do anything to you?â Whenever Tristan encountered something about
Sophie, he was always too anxious to remain clear-headed.
âI miss you, Tristan.â
Verily, Sophie knew she shouldnât be saying such a thing right then. Instead, she needed to resolve the
issue as soon as possible. However, she still couldnât stop herself from doing so upon hearing the
manâs voice.
When Tristan heard that, his emotions surged within him.
âDonât worry! Iâll never allow him to take you away!â Tristan snarled. Truth be told, he was utterly sick of
Nicholas.
It had been several times, but the latter simply wouldnât give up and persisted in challenging his bottom
line repeatedly.
âYeah, I believe you! I think we can try thisâ¦â
In no time, Sophie told him all about her plan. Considering her current state, she couldnât do anything
alone and required Tristanâs cooperation.
âOkay. Got it.â They had a tacit understanding between them, for right after Sophie had prefaced her
idea, Tristan discerned her meaning. âWait for me. Weâll be able to meet soon.â
It wonât take long to get everything ready.
âOkay, got it. Iâll wait for you here.â
Both of them trusted each other unwaveringly.
âAll right, make it quick. Iâve still got to return the phone. Weâll be dead if someone else finds out about
this.â
I know their love runs deep, but this is really not the time for a public display of affection.
âBe careful in everything. Nicholas is intent on killing you.â After all, Nicholas detested Tristan as much
as the latter despised him.
As long as they had a chance, both would kill the other without an ounce of hesitation.
âDonât worry! The most important thing youâve got to do right now is to take good care of yourself.â
She has sustained such severe injuries, yet she has to worry about so many other things.
âAll right. Iâll be hanging up, then. Nicholas canât be allowed to find out about this. Otherwise, everything
would be in vain.â
Having hung up the phone, Tristan breathed a sigh of relief.
Ultimately, he knew that Nicholas wouldnât hurt Sophie for real.
However, uneasiness lingered within him when he hadnât heard her voice for himself.
Now that he had verified that she was fine, he could rest easy.
âDoes Sophie have a plan?â No matter what the strategy was, Felix and the others would give their
utmost cooperation.
Ever since Sophie was captured, Ysabelle had been down in the dumps as she blamed herself for the
fact that the former got injured.
Therefore, they were determined to get Sophie back no matter the price.
âYeah. Letâs go! Make the necessary preparations. This time, I want Nicholasâ life.â I want him to pay a
hefty price for daring to take Sophie away at such a dangerous juncture!
âOkay.â
Felix had no objections, willing to do anything at all when it was something related to Tristan.
Upon learning that Felix and the others were setting out to save Sophie, Ysabelle rang Felix up. At the
sight of her conflicted expression, Felix burst into laughter.
âAll right, weâre going to bring Sophie back now. Sheâs fine. Youâve also got to take good care of
yourself. Otherwise, sheâll be sad to see you in such straits.â
Honestly speaking, Sophie was pretty good to Ysabelle.
âI will. You must bring her back. Also, you must be careful. Donât get hurt.â Ysabelle was still
traumatized by the fact that both Felix and Tristan were injured the previous time.
That also granted her an intimate understanding of how terrifying Nicholas was.
Leaning down, Felix pecked her on the lips.
âOkay. Relax! Iâll be fine since Iâve still got to marry you!â As such, how could I possibly allow anything
to happen to myself?
âI didnât agree to marry you. Anyway, you must be careful, okay?â Nicholas is a lunatic! Otherwise, he
wouldnât have taken Sophie away at such a time.
âGot it. Rest assured that I wonât have you worried and fearful anymore.â
Felix left the room, but sheer trepidation swamped Ysabelle.
Noticing her anxiety, Sarah could only coax, âDonât worry! Felix has been working for your Uncle Tristan
all these years, and theyâve been through all kinds of trials and tribulations!â
In reality, she was also very much worried. Be that as it may, they couldnât panic then. Otherwise,
everything would only plunge into chaos.
âIâm scared, Aunt Sarah. The last time, Uncle Tristan was grievously injured. Iâm really freaked out
now!â
Sarah hugged Ysabelle tightly.
âItâs okay. Everything will be fine. Both of them are formidable, so those people wonât be their match.â
At that moment, they could only reassure themselves in such a manner.
Meanwhile, Felix and Tristan had already made all the preparations. They were just about to set out
when Charles and Sean arrived in a mad dash.
âWhy are you two here?â Felix couldnât help asking. Donât they need to oversee things in the office?
âJeez, how could I be absent at such a time!â Charles quipped. We naturally have to come when things
are so exciting.
âWe canât possibly sit back and do nothing when disaster has befallen Sophie. Weâre best friends,
Tristan. Thus, we definitely have to face such things together,â Sean added.
Itâs merely Nicholas. Thereâs nothing to fear about him.
