Chapter 839
Changing only for her (Sophie and Tristan)
Tristan got into the car while Charles climbed into the passenger seat.
âYouâre truly amazing, Sophie. Honestly, Iâve never admired anyone. Youâre the first one.â
Even within the country, he had heard of Sophieâs meritorious achievements. Verily, she was a legend.
âNot at all. Iâm just an ordinary person.â
Sophie really felt that there was nothing great about her. Besides, she had been on the receiving end of
far too many such compliments.
As such, they did not affect her anymore. Perhaps that was the difference between a genius and an
average person.
The average person would be delighted to hear someone praising her.
Contrarily, someone like her had gotten accustomed to such praise ages ago and did not care about it
anymore.
âAll right, sheâs tired after such a long flight, so zip it.â
This time, Charles was ruthlessly shot down.
The corners of his mouth twitched.
Before Mr. Tristan got acquainted with Sophie, I was also dear to him. In the past, heâd never disdained
me such. Sure enough, comparisons are the root of feelings of inferiority! Right now, he no longer has
any regard for me.
The drive took over two hours before they arrived at the hotel Charles and the others were staying at.
Upon reaching, Sophie quickly took a shower.
The weather there was so scorching that one would sweat anytime and anywhere.
A trace of regret crept into her for having come over in person.
Likewise, Tristan took a shower. When he was done, he phoned Charles and called the man over.
When Charles came over, he explained the plan in detail before regarding Tristan smugly.
âWell? Isnât my plan this time perfect?â Truthfully, he had really put in a great effort this time.
Fortunately, Tristan was pretty satisfied with the arrangements.
âYeah, not bad. You improved a lot.â Both he and Sean were quite protective of Charles, so the latter
had not been involved in such a thing much.
However, the man could already handle things on his own then.
âAfter we go back, Sean can hand those tricky matters to you to handle,â Tristan stated.
âReally?â
Among the four of them, Charles was the least capable.
Even so, he could still handle things on his own when he was thrown in at the deep end.
Only when Sophie had finished showering did the three of them have a meal together. With Bertram
keeping an eye on the terrorist organization, they did not need to worry about that.
The food during the flight was not all that great, but even in Fandar, it was still more or less the same.
âI really miss the delicious food back in Chanaea!â Indeed, when one had traveled the world, one would
realize that their homeland was the most unforgettable place of all.
âIf you donât like eating all this, Iâll have someone find a Chanaean chef to cook specially for you in a
while.â
They decided to come over on the spur of the moment, so Tristan did not ask Charles to make such an
arrangement.
âNo, itâs okay. Weâll be heading back to Anglandur immediately after resolving the matter here. The
issue over there is still hanging in the balance.â The final results would be out by the time they returned.
After perfecting things, they could then go back to the country.
âOkay, then.â
âItâs no big deal. Itâs just finding a Chanaean chef, no? How about this? Iâll have someone go about it
later.â
âNo, forget it. When are we acting?â Sophie knew that Charles had come over and arranged
everything. Therefore, all they needed to do then was to go along with his arrangements.
âWhat does that mean? Are you saying Iâll still be in charge of the mission this time, Sophie?â
I thought Iâd definitely lose the authority to lead this time!
âYouâve made all the arrangements, no? In that case, youâre naturally leading the mission.â Sophie only
came over to ascertain those peopleâs motive in capturing her. She was not really interested in taking
the lead.
After all, she would be much better off without anything to do.
At that, Charles shifted his gaze to Tristan.
Is this for real? This is way too sudden!
Tristan nodded in affirmation.
âYou can take command. I believe that you can do a good job.â In truth, Charles was capable. Besides,
the mission this time was not all that difficult.
When the three of them had finished eating, they converged with Bertram and the others. The instant
Bertram spotted Tristan, he went over and greeted the man.
âMr. Tristan, Ms. Tanner.â
In return, Tristan and Sophie inclined their heads a fraction.
âMr. Quigley will still be in charge of the mission this time. Work with him,â Tristan ordered.
âUnderstood.â
Bertram had never doubted the manâs orders, only ever obeying them to the letter.
It was his first time meeting Sophie though he had long since known that Tristan had a girlfriend he
could not afford to mess with.
Still, he was shocked upon laying eyes on her.
Whoa! Sheâs stunningly beautiful! But the thing is, sheâs overly young compared to Mr. Tristan. I really
didnât expect him to be such a scoundrel that he would even make a move on such a young lady!
When Tristan glimpsed the look in Bertramâs eyes, his temper spiked.
âWhatâs the meaning of this gaze of yours?â Heâs itching for a beating, huh?
Immediately, Bertram retracted his gaze.
Oh God, Iâve got to be more tactful, for I donât want to die yet! I wouldnât be able to survive a beating
from him.
He hastily went in search of Charles to discuss the attack later.
Meanwhile, Sophie and Tristan got into the car to helm things there temporarily. However, Sophie did
not quite like staying there.
âCan I go with them? You can stay and give orders here alone.â She was utterly curious about the
identity of the person who dared send so many people to capture her.
Tristan had anticipated that she would not be able to stay out of the action, considering the fact that
she came all there way here to take part in the mission this time and seize the leader of the terrorist
organization personally.
âOkay. Iâll have Charles take command while I go in with you.â No matter what, he would be too worried
to allow her in alone.
âThatâs fine, too.â
Charles knew that Tristan was letting him take the lead this time because the man wanted to give him
the opportunity to practice. By then, he had already worn his earphones. No sooner had he gone over
than he was greeted by the sight of Sophie attaching two pistols to her waistband.
Then, she snagged a submachine gun. Seeing that, he was inexorably stunned.
While he had always known that she was a remarkable woman, he had never witnessed it in person. At
her bearing then, he suddenly pitied the terrorists on the opposing side.
âYouâre planning to get in on the action, Sophie?â
âYeah. That was why I boarded a flight that took more than ten hours, okay?â Iâm going to nab the
leader of the terrorist organization personally.
âBe careful, then.â No matter what, the other party is a renowned terrorist organization. Itâd be bad if
she were injured for real.
âI will. Donât worry, and give orders boldly. Weâll follow your lead later.â
âReally?â The mere thought of ordering Tristan around later thrilled Charles. This is the first time Iâve
got such an opportunity!
