My Strength
Pregnant And Rejected Omega
Harlyn
I canât help but smile at Wayneâs presence. He lightened up all the darkness as soon as I saw him. Iâve missed him too much, and I can see he missed me. I just donât understand why he showed up when Iâm leaving tomorrow.
âYou havenât explained your wounds, my love.â Wayneâs words have me nodding.
âIt is sorted now,â I say, knowing that Wayne will cause a fuss.
âHow can you say that?â he asks, looking around the room. âYour training didnât help, did it?â
âWayne, I knew my training wouldnât help against anyone with a wolf. I can fight and block, but my strength is nothing compared to werewolves.â I honestly thought he had realised that. I would do great if it were someone without a wolf. I hit hard for a wolfless girl, but nothing compared to a wolf.
âSo, who attacked you?â Wayne asks again.
âThe Princess,â Thorin states, glaring across to Diandra.
âI thought you two were friends?â Wayne looks at me, shocked. He knows Lucy is my friend. I didnât mention Stefan and him rejecting me or being mates.
âDifferent princess. She is Princess Diandra, and she is set to marry the king,â I explain, and he nods.
âWell, something needs to be done.â Wayne goes to stand, but my hand stops him.
âI hurt her in the places she hurt Mummy.â Thorin looks at him. âMummy has no wolf; she knew that was why she hurt her.â
I sigh, hearing Thorin. Heâs good at reading people.
âWell done for fighting back for your Mum Thorin.â Wayne smiles and shakes his hand.
âI helped.â Isaac jumps up, and Wayne nods, laughing.
âWell done to you as well.â Wayne hugs him. âDid you keep calm?â He glances at Thorin.
âHe did very well considering he wasnât even in the room with me at the time,â I explain, pulling Thorin to me.
âAlmost.â Thorinâs head drops.
âItâs fine, you did great.â I smile at him.
âBut emotion is weakness,â Wayneâs words shock me, and I turn to stare at him. âItâs a fact, love; the less emotion he shows, the better.â
My head shakes. âNo, emotion isnât a weakness.â I canât believe he said that.
âWeaknesses are bad; your enemies use them, Mummy.â Thorin smiles, and Isaac rolls his eyes.
âWeakness and emotions are different, and itâs not bad to have a weakness,â I argue, unsure why I found it so bad, but I do.
âLotta and Isaac can have them, Mummy, just not me.â Thorin smiles. Standing, I pull Wayne away from them.
âWhat is going on? Why is Thorin saying that?â I donât like how he thinks emotions are a weakness.
âItâs part of the training.â Wayne smiles at me.
âIf it was, why is it only put on Thorin?â I glance from him to the pups.
âThorin is different,â Wayne states.
âNo, they are all different, which we knew,â I argue.
âYes, but Thorin is different from Lotta and Isaac. Heâs stronger, faster, and you canât deny he is wiser.â
âIâm not denying that, but since when did training become making him think emotions are bad and a weakness?â I ask, glance between him and the pups.
âHarlyn.â I turn and see Samuel. âYouâve not really been celebrating with us.â He looks from me to Wayne.
âSorry, I got distracted. This is Wayne.â I was meant to introduce him to everyone, but I wanted to spend time with him alone with the pups before everyone got involved.
âWayne, itâs nice to finally meet you. Iâm Samuel, her brother.â He shakes his hand and looks at him.
âSomething wrong?â I look at Samuel, and his head shakes.
âNothing, just that he looks like an old guard from before you left, thatâs all. Unusual.â Samuel shrugs and laughs slightly. âHave you introduced him to mother?â
Sighing, my head shakes. âNo, we were catching up,â I say, not wanting to get lost in introductions until I know everything.
âWell, come on, letâs get him introduced.â Samuel walks forward, and I grab the pups and follow with Wayne. I watch as Samuel begins to introduce Wayne to everyone.
Heâs standing like the proud brother, constantly explaining Iâm engaged to an alpha. Anyone would think itâs something huge, and I guess the fact I donât have a wolf makes it a big thing.
âSo, seen as Wayne is here, are you staying a little longer?â Mother smiles at me, and I go to shake my head, but Wayne speaks.
âWhy not?â he says, turning to smile at me. âWe can stay a few extra days; it gives you more time with your family.â He smiles at me, but I donât want to stay longer.
Although, if Wayne is here, I know Iâm safe. Sighing, I nod. It will be good. I have yet to speak to my mother and catch up with her.
With the wedding and everything else, weâve not had much time to do. Itâs nice, though. I donât know where my father is, but unlike him, he leaves a celebration just to avoid seeing me.
The pups are dancing with my family, and I stay in Wayneâs arms.
âIâm sorry,â Wayne says, and I look up at him. âI didnât want anyone to take advantage of them and use their emotions against them.â His arms wrap around me, and he pulls me closer.
âMaybe I went too far. I wonât do it again. Itâs just far easier for someone to manipulate you, and you do not see it happening if youâre drowning in emotions.â
I nod at his words, understanding him. âDrowning in emotions is one thing, Wayne; having emotions is different. Thorin is already cold and distant from everyone, and I donât want that to get worse.â
He nods, kissing my cheek. âIâm sorry, I just didnât want them hurt. No more, I promise. The fact they managed to defend you and not kill the person says they are able to control their emotions.â
âThank you.â I smile at him. Without him, I would have been alone for the past eight years. I would have had to raise the pups without a home, and I wouldnât even know where to start with training them as I was never allowed to attend due to my lack of a wolf.
âYou donât need to thank me, just marry me,â he smiles, and I laugh.
âI already agreed, Wayne; Iâm not changing my mind.â Reaching up, I kiss him.
âLotta is having fun.â He looks across at where she is dancing with Lucy, and again, she has on the tiara.
âThis is the world she dreams of. Yes, she enjoys training, fighting and such, but sheâs more into princess dresses and stuff. Iâm glad she got to come here.â I am, as itâs something many wouldnât get to do.
âIâm glad the pups are getting to know everyone. Itâs a good thing they learn about your family, which apparently includes the royal family.â His head tilts. âLucy is now your sister-in-law.â
He nods wrong. âThat she is.â I smile at the thought. I hadnât even realised it, but we are.
