Proving A Point
Pregnant And Rejected Omega
Stefan
I donât know what to do; I walk out of the room and look for my mother. I find her with the guests.
âThere you are, youâre late.â Diandra looks at me, and I push her hand off me.
âNot now!â I snap at her and turn to my mother. âI need you.â I walk out, and she follows me.
âWhat is going on?â She stops me and looks at me, waiting for my answer.
âI think Harlyn is under a spell.â
She laughs at my words.
âDonât, Mother, I mean it. How do I stop it?â I need to know.
âThat would depend. What sort of spell?â She sits on the small sofa and waits for me to explain.
âI donât know. One where she hates me, especially if I talk, but if I get close to her, if I touch her, it breaks the spell, as long as I donât speak.â
She looks at me like Iâm crazy.
âI mean it, she is like a hurricane, screaming, hitting me, then if I grip her chin and make her focus on me, and I stay quiet, sheâs calm and kisses me. Something isnât right.â I just need to break it; then I can stop this.
âA spell like that canât just be undone; you need a warlock. A strong one, by the sounds of it, and thereâs not one close to here, Stefan.â
âSo Iâm stuck?â Thatâs what she is telling me, Iâm stuck, I canât break it.
âMaybe not when it comes to that, yes, but here.â She moves and hands me an envelope; opening it, I stare.
âYour little princess was happy to play doctors. Thereâs proof the pups are yours, Stefan. She canât leave with them, so she has to stay.â Jumping up, I hug her.
âThank you!â I need to go see her.â I walk around the corner and see the maid.
âWhere is Harlyn?â I ask, and walk towards her room.
âSheâs getting married, Your Majesty.â I stop at her words.
âWhat?â No, moving, I rush through; I didnât think they would. Hell, how hasnât she thought it was weird of Wayne to agree to marry her after what he caught us doing?
âMother, get the guards.â I watch as she nods and orders them to follow; as I step into the room, Harlyn turns and looks at me. Samuelâs head shakes, but itâs pointless. Legally, he canât marry her.
âArrest him.â I point to Wayne and watch the guards walk towards him.
âWhat?â Harlyn shouts and steps in front of him. âWhy, what has he done?â She glared towards me, and I thought he would be smarter to realise this wouldnât happen, not here.
âThis wedding can not happen.â I insist, and Samuel looks at me.
âWhy not?â He looks between me and Harlyn.
âWhat? Why?â Thorin looks at me. âWhy wonât you let them marry.â His face becomes fierce.
âHarlyn is mine, and Wayne, I know you saw it.â I move forward and pull Harlynâs hair away from her neck. âI claimed her.â The gasps are loud, and my motherâs eyes widen.
âStefan, what did you do?â She stands shocked.
âWhat I said, something stupid and crazy.â I smile at her. âHarlyn bears my mark!â I announce.
âWhat did you do?â My father stares at me. He has no idea she is my mate that her pups are mine, or anything else.
I smile as I stand, watching Wayne look defeated. Yeah, in this kingdom, if she bears a mark, she canât marry someone else.
âSon, she isnât your mate. Why would you mark her? Diandra, is your fiance, and you do this?â Father steps in front of me. âYouâre meant to be king, not a fool.â
âHarlyn is my mate. I just never told anyone,â I shout, and the room goes quiet.
âI think my daughter may have tricked him.â The Earl steps forward. âYou silly little girl, what did you do to the king?â He grabs her, but I stop him.
âDonât touch her! Donât you dare call her names?â I wonât have it.
âWhy not? Itâs what she is. Youâre meant to be marrying me, and she seduces you and uses you, then marries another man!â Diandra screams, and I watch as she pushes fake tears into her eyes.
I roll my eyes at her.
âYou already kissed her, and today, I saw you again in that room with her wrapped around you. Now youâre claiming you marked her!â Diandra steps closer. Her hand swings, and she hits me. I deserve it. I was too focused on Harlyn to forget about her. âCome on, Your Majesty. The gracious king, tell us what this is. Letâs get rid of the trash before I become queen.â She turns and glares at Harlyn.
âDiandra, you were merely a stand-in; you werenât going to be my queen through my choice. Youâre not exactly worthy to be queen, and you would rot the kingdom from the inside out.â Sheâs vile, her hurting Harlyn is proof of that.
She was a stand-in until I found my mate or someone I felt was worthy.
She laughs and turns to face Harlyn. âSo sheâs worthy? Do you really think she wonât rot the kingdom from the inside out? Sheâs already doing it. Making you fight for her when she wants someone else.â
I go to reply, and she continues.
âSuch a great kingdom; Iâm sure they would love to have a whore as a queen who has bastard kids.â
âHarlyn is my mate!â I shout, and everyone looks at me like they donât believe me. She is, and I donât care what I need to do to prove it to them; I will. I stand looking at her. If I can get close enough to her, if I can just touch her and not speak, it would be fine. I can carry her out, and this is partly solved.
âHow can you say that?â Samuel looks at me, shocked. âYour Majesty, she isnât your mate. Wayne is.â
Sighing, I nod. âItâs a fact; I knew since we were young that something stopped me from accepting her, but Iâm ready to now. Harlyn is my mate, and I love her.â
I hear gasps of shock from around us, and Harlyn glares at me harder. Iâm in trouble again. At least there arenât any knives close by.
