His Training
Pregnant And Rejected Omega
Stefan
I watch Thorin, and he seems to be in his element training, especially having Carlton here. While Isaac and Lotta are training, Thorin seems to take it more seriously.
âDid you ever lose against something?â Thorin looks at Carlton, and he nods. âDid you have a weakness they used?â Thorin questions him, and Carlton stops.
âNo, weaknesses have nothing to do with why people lose,â Carlton explains and goes back to training with Thorin, but I can see now Thorin has more questions.
âSo, was it because you felt something and had emotions?â
Carlton stops again and looks at him. âNo, emotions are good when it comes to battles,â Carlton explains.
âNo, emotions are weaknesses, and we canât have weaknesses.â My body runs cold as I hear Thorin.
âEmotions are good,â Carlton looks at him. âImagine someone hurting the person you love; you would feel angry, right? Using that anger in a battle is good,â Carlton explains.
âNo, anger makes you act and not think. No emotion is better.â Thorin argues. âYou wouldnât have lost that one time had you not used emotions.â
This kid is going to start a war.
âThorin, donât,â I call over, and Carlton laughs.
âLook, having emotions isnât bad if you learn how to use them to add power to your attack. Emotion can be a weakness for those who react without considering it. Ultimately, however, emotion is the driving force, the reason someone wants to win.â
âBut you lost?â Thorin looks at him.
âI lost because I went against a lycan, the only lycan.â Carltonâs eyes come to me. âI may know Boxing, Mixed martial arts, Muay Thai and all those things, but itâs useless if I am outpowered.â
âCarlton is right; while he can predict moves and use his knowledge in the fight, if heâs overpowered by someone stronger, itâs impossible to win without weapons, of course,â I explain, and Thorin nods.
âWhy didnât you just use weapons then?â His words are quiet, and I laugh.
âIt wasnât a real battle to the death.â Carlton sighs. âAt the academy here, sometimes the strongest wolves go and battle to show the students how different each is. Your father, the king.â Carlton points at me. âWas the first man to win because heâs lycan, and they are impossible to take down if youâre not one yourself.â
Thorin glances at me. âHeâs not my dad.â Of course Iâm not, kiddo. I laugh slightly.
âEither way, heâs the only one that beat me, and weaknesses and emotions had no role to play.â Carlton looks towards me. âCan I use his emotions?â
I know what he means by that. âGo ahead. Just donât cry when he hurts you.â
Carlton laughs. He will realise that wasnât a joke.
âOkay, no emotion, right?â He looks at Thorin, and he nods. âThen lets battle, without your wolf, just as yourself.â I watch as they stand training, and I can see Carlton is confused by his strength. Ten minutes later, they stop.
âOkay, now I want you to think of when you felt angry, even if you ignored it. Instead of ignoring the anger, use it to strengthen your attack. See if there is a difference,â Carlton says, and my head shakes.
âYou shouldnât have done that.â I barely finished the words before Thorin jumped on him, but heâs proved a point: when controlled, his anger only adds to his strength.
âOkay, stop!â Carlton puts his hands up. âOne, you should have told me he was lycan. That was a low blow.â He laughs, looking at me. âTwo, did you notice the difference?â He looks at Thorin.
âI was stronger.â Thorin stands confused.
âWhy does your kid think itâs wrong to feel emotions and have weaknesses, Your Majesty?â Carlton looks at me.
âBecause they arenât needed to make a good warrior.â For Godâs sake, I turn and see Wayne. âI would appreciate it if you didnât try to undo his training, Thorin here.â I watch as Thorin runs to his side.
âWant me to kill him?â Carlton glances at me.
âTempting, but Thorin wonât let you.â If only it was that easy.
âI donât know. You distract him. I can get behind him and have his neck snapped quickly.â He glances from me to Wayne.
It could work. âNo, not with the pups around.â As tempted as it is, I donât exactly want the pups to watch him die. They care for him, and weirdly, as much as I hate to admit it, they see him as their father, so killing him with them there is just cruel.
âYou know Iâm at the academy for months right?â Carlton looks at me, and I nod. âWhen this situation is sorted.â He points between the pups and Wayne. âWill they be coming to the academy?â
I hadnât considered that. They should go, but the thought of so many learning about them is a risk. Plus, itâs not exactly my place to choose; itâs Harlynâs. Iâve no rights in anything until I earn it.
âIâll let you know. First, the situation needs sorting.â Standing, I walk to Wayne and watch the pups training together.
âYou realise whatever youâre planning to do isnât going to work. Weâre leaving today.â Wayne glares at me.
âYou really love Harlyn, donât you?â I ask, looking at him amused.
âDid you just realise that? Just how...â He stops, yeah, go on, insult me. I wait, and his head shakes.
âItâs a shame she doesnât love you Wayne.â My words are quiet, so no one but him hears, and he glares at me.
âYouâre wrong there.â He stands waiting for me to argue the point.
âOh, no, Iâm right. You used magic to mask how she felt about me. Once the magic is gone, she wonât be confused anymore.â Maybe I shouldnât taunt him, but itâs fun.
âI didnât need black magic to change how she feels about you; she hates you and always will.â
Nodding, I agree. âI do agree there. She hates me because I rejected her and hurt her. However, hating me doesnât stop her from loving me.â My words taunt him, and he growls, stepping forward.
âGo ahead, Wayne, your mask is slipping.â I look from him to Thorin, and I can see it. In his eyes, heâs realising Wayne isnât good, but itâs seconds, not long at all, before that veil goes back over and blinds him.
