Chapter 192
When Love Breaks by jack
I looked toward Bryant, adding, âAnd even if heâs a tricky guy, if I get played
and still feel grateful, itâs none of your business.â
âAs long as weâre not signing those divorce papers, everything about you is
my business!â He seemed almost amused by his anger, his tongue flicking
against his cheek, âJane, donât even think about making me cuckolded.â
With a calm command, Bryant instructed the driver, âDrive! Back to the
Ferguson Mansion!â
I was baffled, staring wide-eyed at him. âWhat are you trying to do?â
âUntil those divorce papers are in hand, forget about seeing Mark in secret!â
His tone left no room for argument, and I was nearly driven to madness,
struggling fiercely. âWhat right do you have to control my life?â
He remained unmoved. âBecause Iâm still your husband!â
I took a deep breath, my words laced with sarcasm, âHusband? What a joke!
Have you ever believed a word I said?â
Bryant frowned, his gaze deepening, âYou mean what happened at the
hospital today?â
I snapped, âWhat else?â

He rubbed his temples, his voice rich and deep, âYouâre not a child anymore.
You should know, even if you call the cops, everything requires evidence.â
âAre you a cop or my husband?â I looked at him steadily, asking as calmly as
I could.
How could he be so clear-cut, claiming to be my husband on the one hand,
yet never trusting me? Could a person be so divided?
Bryant stiffened slightly, his lips pressing together. âBut theyâre not criminals.â
I clenched my fists. âThey are your lover and future mother-in-law, right?â
Bryant tried to explain, âJane, listen. Margaret and Iâ¦â
âStop,â I smirked, though my eyes were cold. âYou doubt my relationship with
Mark just as much when I tell you nothing is happening. What about you and
Margaret? I bet it wasnât just a one-time sleepover!â
I was stunned. My instinct was to argue, but looking at Bryantâs expression, it
didnât seem like a lie.
I knew pursuing it would lead nowhere, so I turned my head. âWhat did you
say to Mark just now?â
Bryant snorted, âWant to know?â
I admitted, âYes.â
Bryant was unfazed. âI said I could withdraw the divorce application
unilaterally.â
Anger surged within me, my teeth clenched in fury, âBryant, youâre
despicable!â
His eyes were as cold as ice. âI have many more despicable methods. Want
to try?
