Chapter 231
When Love Breaks by jack
Chapter 231
I replied firmly, âYeah, I want to try Itâ
âYou got this.â His gaze held mine, unwavering as he spoke.
A genuine happiness bubbled inside me, and I sincerely said, âThank you so much!â
Even though he downplayed it, I could still imagine the great effort he had put in to recover Janedream.
Mark let out a resigned laugh. âWhat are you thanking me for? I also wanted your parentsâ company back, but they wouldnât budge.â
*This is more than enough,â I insisted eamestly. âHaving Janedream back is all that matters.â
*Glad I could help,â he sighed, walking over to the entrance to look outside before turning back to me with a slight frown. âJane, do your have a rag?â
I asked, âWhatâs wrong?â
âThe cleaners missed a spot. Iâll clean it up. Itâs blood. I donât want it to freak you out.â
âItâs okay.â I said as I gathered the documents into a folder and placed it on the coffee table. âDonât worry about it. I probably be moving out in a few days anyway.â
The house in Riverview Estate was mine, according to the divorce settlement. But dealing with Bryant meant endless trouble. Today, it was Dorothy. The next day, it could be Margaret or Teresa. Any would question why I was living there and maybe even barge in to create a scene. Staying there was asking for trouble.
âYou found a place?â Markâs tone was gentle.
âNot yet. I just decided on moving.â I shook my head. âIll start looking for apartments and plan to sell this place tomorrow.â
Selling the house would provide the initial funds needed to rebuild Janedream.
âI know a place, actually, Mark hesitated before adding. âItâs vacant, and Iâve been looking to rent it out. Itâs not far from here, convenient for moving or setting up your company.â
I was overjoyed. âReally?â
âAbsolutely.â Mark smiled. âHow about I show you the place tomorrow?â
âNo need to see it.â I declined with a grin. âI trust your judgment. It must be a cool spot if you say so. But to be clear, Iâll pay you the rent as usual. How much were you asking for it?â
âOkay, then. III take advantage of the opportunity to rip you off,â Mark extended his hand. âFive thousand a month.
Deciding to move sooner rather than later, especially with Dorothyâs attitude, I began packing my belongings.
When I first moved into the house in Riverview Estate, it was with a few suitcases, and it was the same by then. My life hadnât
accumulated much else.
I
These days, I felt like a spinning top, constantly whirling around due to various issues, never having a moment to live well.
The next day. Mark came over early to help me move. After we arrived at the place and opened the door, I realized Mark wasnât ripping me off, and I was getting the better end of the deal.
The apartment was comparable to the one in Riverview Estate. Located in a similarly desirable area, the rent of the place should have been at least twenty thousand a month for its size and layout. Moreover, the place looked brand new, as if no one had ever lived there.
âHey, Suddenly, a sound came from the other apartment at the end of the hallway. It was Gregory, leaning lazily against his door frame with a smirk. âLooks like Iâm getting a new neighbor, huh?â
